If you want to level fast you should be a nuker or a bowman (for Chinese) or a wizard, rogue, cleric and maybe bard or warlock (for Europe).
If you're going to be a nuker, wizard, cleric, bard or warlock you should put your stat points into INT. This gives you more damage. Adding STR gives you more hitpoints but reduces your damage. Since you're level 6 it doesn't really matter if you've got a few points in STR.
If you're going to be a rogue you need STR ONLY. You should also use a crossbow if you want to level fast, but dagger skills look better if that's what does it for you. If you're going to be a bowman you should put all your points into STR (although there are some people that say putting some points into INT works). Since this is your 1st character I'd say go with the tried and tested STR only for a bowman.
For just about every build you choose you'll need to farm. If you have a low SP build (Euro character with no submastery, and some Chinese characters) you can get by, by having your mastery level a few levels below your character level. Most Chinese builds need to do some serious farming. I'd recommend keeping a 3 level gap until you get the hang of the game then farm at higher levels. So when your character is level 10, your highest mastery should be 7 and so on.
If you choose a Chinese character you should level up 2 of the force trees (lightning/fire/cold/force) and the weapon that your are using. Bicheon = sword, Heuksal = spear, Pacheon = bow. Nukers use sword/shield or a spear, don't get blades or glaives. There should be guides that say which skills you should/shouldn't get for each build type. Generally nukers need most of the lightning tree and some of fire/cold. I wouldn't get force since this is your first character. Nukers also only need a few weapon skills, usually the chain attacks & a couple of others. Bowmen get usefull skills in lightning/fire/cold so you'll need to decide which 2 trees you want. Bowmen need a lot more weapon skills than nukers, but a lot less force skills. You can expand to 3 force trees later, but it uses a lot more SP so I wouldn't advise it until you're ready to farm.
For a European character you just need to choose one class and get pretty much all the skills for that class. Some skills are PvP only, so you don't need to get them. You can also get a submastery, but that takes up more SP. Bard as a submastery is useful for PvE because of the skills Moving March and Noise. Cleric as a submastery gives you buffs and healing skills. Warlock as a submastery gives you status effects but these aren't as usefull for PvE unless you're fighting party monters a lot.
Hope this helps you get started.
