what is the rogues strong points and weak points in all 3 jobs, and which would you chose if you're pure str rogue. which submastery would suit the job better?

Basically, ROgues are the best thieves. Their stealth gives them a perfect advantage over player traders & hunters. No other job can use the rogue's skills better. Same with a wiz :p
I'd go with cleric for the buffs, as IMO they're more useful than some extra speed & avoiding agros.

that's what i was thinking, except for the sub class, cuz cleric skills remove invis and the def one only lasts 45 sec - would it help to do warrior or something so rogue can wear armor? or is that a total waste?

Plate armor is a complete waste with rogues (I believe) since your DMG buff is -75% p.def/m.def (% is the main thing here)
say you had 500 p.def with light armor that is 125 p.def with the dmg buff
with plate say you had 750 p.def that is 188 p.def with the dmg buff
Not a huge difference in p.def and with a loss in m.def
There is a 50th topic of dagger rogue subclass (bard or cleric) going on right now, you might wanna check that out for more info on subclasses.

How are you so quick to denounce the cleric self-buffs? They're stronger at lvl 1 than the strongest chinese buffs.

not that strong. But at 60, they are already better than the 80 chinese buffs.
IMO w/ rogue you can be either thief or hunter. Not really trader because you can't really tank. Thief is probably the ideal job, but a stealthed hunter can scout up ahead and clear the way b4 thiefs even see a caravan. In the higher levels hunters and thieves mostly just run around killing each other so it des not matter.
If you are a thief though, you are a 1 hit wonder, sinc once you get that horse out the advantage is over, plus you won't be able to tank 10 npc hunters at 5* value of stolen goods.
So in the end, hunter because it has the highest degree of freedom, no being burdened by a transport. Subclass cleric, bu carry speed drugs with you and remember to scud away when you get in trouble.

nah i still go with thief, just let your homies take the loot for you and scroll with them to get thief exp.
the rogue is the ultimate thief machine, it just sucks at carrying the loot which is why you should have a chinese char along your side.

....so basically, you either need a biatch, or you need to be someone's biatch to do actual thieving. I would rather go for the lone wolf that scares the shit out of every thief and be a 1 man raid squad. ROGUE FREEDOM!
But as rogue pretty much means thief so if you want to be like everyone else go for that. BRAINWASHING FTW!!

Yeh, if I was a rogue, I would rather be a hunter too. Unless you want to earn a lot of money or something, it's less worry for you.
Also, I know cleric heals and buffs are really usefuls for pvp, etc. but I would probably still stick to bard like a stubborn goat. It just seems like less work-- which may or may not be true, but you've only got to get to level 10 for moving march and 20 for noise. If you go cleric, you've gotta go to level 30 for healing cycle and 40 for recovery division. And 24 for bless spell. But I like to overlook that one to make a point. I was brainwashed :[

in any job you need a couple of friends to do it with..
i dont think anyone goes and trades by them selves well unless its a 1-3 stars
or hunts alone they need a couple more
same as thieving...
for me i would chose thieving

theif because of steth helps a tone.
Say your waiting for some one all you have to do is stelth and wait at a good point for traders. and if you see a high level hunter before he sees you stealth and youll be ok

I like to go out and kill thieves alone.... Sadly, most of them are posers and as soon as I kill their level 45 horse a sosun appears and I don't even resist from that point on.
