Well, i did not want to do this because people may take my build but... whatever. I need some competition, you know? And I feel generous. Also keep in mind that I like to protect wizards and clerics ... just the way that I play, so what i state in this "guide" is based on the protection of others. As you should know... those that protect others are often the strongest.
Build:
Many of you say "go pure int (intelligence)" but frankly, i rape pure ints. I won't say the int and str (strength) percentage; however, ... "heavy int". Each str point gives hp (hit points) AND phys def (physical defence). You need more than what can be given by your gear if you want to survive all none crit attks (at least a hit or two -.- without the healing of HP (vampire touch and/or pots)... that is what you need). Take a hit for your wizard buddy

.
*Oh... um... forgot to say that I am bard subclass... so hybrid is kinda "required" with the robes and all. If you can wear something else... by all means go pure int, just keep in mind that armor has no magic def and I will get you O.o
Skills:
From warlock class - EVERYTHING
Why explain particular skills when EVERYTHING is needed. There is something there for nearly every situation. Make up your own combos

.
Actually, I would like to add that i have no idea how Fog Sight works because i hardley ever use it... I suppose that i am waiting until I lvl the skill up. (says that skill cannot be used on monsters, ... but it can >.> Do not think that it works on them though) No point in lessening someones range if you are a ranged fighter. Belongs in party section?
From warrior class - Lvl 1 Shield trash
Knock back ... hmmm.... as well as a low lvl dull. And best of all... no weapon switching since you are always going to use a shield anyway. 3 second recharge, spam the skill if you want to. If you are subclassing (I do not count this as a subclass because of its necessity) then you'll have to work with a natural mastery gap or lower lvl subclass.
Um... Tips ^^
The best one... so far >.> I am only lvl 44. Trap + sleep = death.
AFTER casting trap, cast sleep and the player will be unable to move until:
1. The player wakes up from the sleep (sleep runs out) 2. The trap goes off.
That is correct: you can attk the player and they will not wake up (both trap and sleep can last up to 20 seconds. That means that you have up to 20 seconds to attk them without them hitting back. Remember to debuff their potion usage - wheel bind - and if your vampire touch causes disease then they cannot heal anyway

)
I do not know about jobbing... however, if you are wearing a pvp cape, cast illusion and everyone's name will become white. Players cannot attk you unless they hold alt. Keep in mind that if you attk someone and then cast illusion... you have to wait about 20 seconds until their name turns white... keep that in mind. 4 minute cool down for the skill, do not waste it

.
Something else should go here... I forget...
Subclasses
Cannot comment here. I have not played as other classes, nor do I know many of the other skills. I'll leave this up to someone else. Many other guides out there

Bard... Might comment on that later (most likely not until i hit lvl 50 or 60

).
Parties!!!!!!!!!
If you can find one >.>
Dot (Damage over time - Dark mentalist skills) ALL monsters that everyone is fighting. You will get zerk 3 seconds after you finish your first zerk (reasonable exageration). Yes, you do get zerk that fast (don't argue with me -.-)

Keep in mind that you have the most moves to save your party members. You are the "aggressive" support role.
Solo play
Boring ... perhaps I will add something later. Oh... Trap/sleep combo works on monsters as well. And do not fight more than one monster at a time unless they are 4 or so lvls lower than you are <.<
~Comment Section~
A compilation of important comments that will clarify the above.

But as far as having 20 seconds of complete freedom from attack due to Slumber even after attacking the target, I'm gonna have to disagree.

(or maybe you just worded it funny) Curses are enough to break the Slumber spell which will then allow the opponent to attack again.
curses do not break the slumber if they are casted under the bloody trap. In other words, you do not wake up even if i am Dotting you, debuffing and nuking you. Trap has to go off or sleep has to naturally fade out. OR, cleric heals the status >.> as I have found out today.

WHAT!?! Sleep doesn't wear off if your target gets hit? And it's like fast cast too, right? That's kind of bs, you can win just by using sleep casting bloody trap a few razes and waiting for sleep to run out to use blood flower.
Are you super sure sleep doesn't wear off when the target gets hit?

A few things though; You suggest your build is based on the protection of others but I really wouldn't want to give that job to a hybrid build IMO. Pure STR Warriors are the best Euro tanks followed by Rogues if necessary.
Warriors are often too busy with party mobs and slumber/stun can reach monsters faster than any warrior. Doing this draws attention to the warlock if those skills are resisted and MIRAGE takes too long to use. This is the reason behind the str points. Saving wizards from a one hitter.

Do you need a one-handed sword to cast Shield Trash?
No one-handed sword needed
