Hi, I hope this question hasn't been asked a million times already. Currently, I'm a Cleric/Bard LVL 25. However, I'm unsatisfied with the Bard. It makes some damage compared to the Cleric, however it hasn't got many skills I consider useful (except Moving March, of course). I enjoy playing the Cleric so much more. So I was thinking about de-skilling the Bard and skilling either a Wizard or a Warlock.

Now I don't know which of those has what advantages over the other and which fits best to my Cleric. There are plenty Wizards on my server and I don't know if there still is that much demand for them. However, they have some nice skills and I always enjoyed being a nuker. I've had a chinese character LVL 45 with Sword/Shield. I like that build very much. However, the Warlock's skills seem to be quite interesting, too. A Warlock would be a totally different experience for me, I think.

Some people told me, a Cleric is best combined with a Wizard as the Warlock already has the ability to regain HP by sucking them out of his opponents. However I would not use the Cleric to heal the Wizard either. I'd rather play them independently, doing a Cleric when a Cleric is needed and a Wizard/Warlock when one of them is needed. I bet there is far more demand for Warlocks in partys, though, simply because there are so many Wizards.

PVP is not that important for me but efficient party play is. So what do you suggest me, Wizard or Warlock?

Thanks in advance :D

wizard = steals aggro = die a lot
warlock = chills and doesnt die

yesterday i was in a party me lvl 25(warlock) wizard lvl 27. i died once in about a 2 and a half hour party, the wizard died 14x. We had 2 tanks and a cleric. Impossible for a tank to control adds tho. With thoes AOE attacks the wizard would aggro 3-4 mobs and lets face it, wizards can only take about 3 hits and there dead. but overall 2 wizards in a party will do more damage then 3 warlocks, so they are essential to have, just have to face that you will die a lot more then any othre class in the game. also a party really only needs 1 warlock, just for mob control (sleep, stuns, debuffs) so you may also find it easier to get into parties as a wizard.

First of all, thanks for your answer. I did not know that a Wizard dies that often. Maybe I'm just a good cleric (hehe), but in my parties when I used Group Healing only those people died who were (compared to the mobs they were fighting) low lvl.

I agree that a Warlock has indeed much higher chances to survive though, mainly because of the shield. You say that a Warlock's job mainly consists of sleeping, stunning and debuffing. Is that true? I thought his tasks were somewhat more... diverse. As a Cleric, I also am not doing much but HP healing my party's members. I like that but at times I feel like being rather offensive, dealing damage. Also, the Wizard might have the advantage that in parties with no item autoshare it most likely does the most damage and gets the drop, doesn't it?

Well, I'm quite torn. Since I cannot do both Wizard and Warlock I think the Wizard would be somewhat more suitable for me, although it's quite sad that as a Wizard my build won't be nearly as unique as it's now. I bet more than 50% of the euro characters are Wizards...

Another question: It's true that my 1st mastery can be lvl 80 and my 2nd only 76. I don't know if I ever reach that lvl but if I do, what would I make my 1st and what my 2nd mastery? Are there any essential Wizard/Cleric skills I get at >76?

Thank you!

Warlocks can also steal HP, which makes it much easier to survive with them.

I have a Wizard/Warlock (my first European character). Basically, I can choose between killing a monster in one or two shots OR kill them a little slower but be able to steal HP when I need it.

I'll put it another way. For me...

Wizards: 1 HP Potion 5 MP Potion
Warlock: 1 HP Potion 10 MP Potion

I use potions with about that ratio.

Aww, now you make me think again...

Well, I can't say I am that eager for dying. Also I've just read in another thread that Warlocks are, compared to Wizards, quite awesome in PVP if you know how to play them. While PVP isn't that much of an issue for me, I think if a build is good at PVP it can't suck at killing monsters. Too bad I can't be Wizard/Warlock/Cleric, which would be about perfect for me :D

The Wizard definitely has the better looking weapon though, I don't really like the look of these rods. The coolest weapon however is the harp, too bad I don't like its skills.

No, after having looked again at both masteries' skills, for now I'll do a Wizard/Cleric. A new Warlock character maybe later. So would I put the Wizard or the Cleric to LVL 80? Which of them has the more important high lvl skills?

Thanks for your answers, though. You've helped me alot

i think u read my thread, however, im a lvl 20 warlock, with all skills maxed, and i was pvping against a warrior/cleric, he used both classes, one after the other, he won 3 times and i won all of the others, we were fighting for around 20 minutes, then this guy came lvl 21+ for his equipment, and i just

cursed, cursed, stun, curse more, then make him fall asleep, let the curses do their job, suck hp, rose, = DEad, repeat that several times = PWNAGE

im loving warlocks, i had a wizard lvl 13, awesome damage and cool skills, however i couldnt lvl up coz i kep dieing and loosing exp, u need to have a cleric watching ur back at all times if u want to survive, its up to you, but ive seen very few cwarlocks and 80% of the people ive seen are warriors, oh, the warlock has a skill that protects u agains aggro, that means u cn last longer..

peace

Why does everyone tell me Warlocks are the coolest and most successful and actually so few Warlocks exist (at least on my server)?

However, since I'll never be able to decide (both so cool ) I threw a dice. 1-3 for Warlock and 4-6 for Wizard. I repeated it three times, first was a 3, then a 3, then a 2. So something wants me to become a Warlock I think. I'm glad I'll be doing something different this time, not again a nuker.

Starting a new Warlock/Cleric character right now, I'd like to thank all of you who gave me advice. I definitely hope I'll enjoy the Warlock more than the Bard.

Eldorado. Well, somehow the Warlock Rod's normal attack sucks. Will I still be using it at higher levels or will I exclusively be using spells?

Thanks :D

It's sad though that now there is no possibility to run at decent speed without taking expensive drugs or making a bard buff you (which is quite impossible if you are solo hunting as I am ATM).

People like to see big numbers. Warlocks are more for the creative players who enjoy stacking certain spells to get certain effects. Wizards are more for people who like to see things go boom.

At lvl 17 and 18, it seems every full int wizard is getting two-hit-killed by the lvl 17 stone lion party mob, LOL...

The party mob, yes, but they can one-hit-kill the normal ones. >,>

That's also my impression. I am LVL 14 now and stalling at the moment so I have some time to post my thoughts on my new Warlock. I like it very much so far. I'm constantly getting interesting new skills. Also, thanks to that vampire skill and the shield I'm able to "tank" quite some monsters and also do partymobs myself. Compared to the Bard (which had by far the cooler weapon though) gameplay is unbelievably diversified. The only thing I dislike about being a Warlock is the quite... puny look of that weapon. If the Warlock Rod and the Harp exchanged their looks, I'd be the happiest man in the world :D

Nonetheless a great decision. I haven't died a single time yet. I doubt that with a Wizard I would have the same fun as with the Warlock 8)

I know I'm still low level, but my cleric can ko mobs with 1-2 normal attacks, champions are 3.

Are wizards and warlocks gimped, or will I soon see a drastic decrease in my attack power?

I feel bad when I can do 2x the damage of the warrior who is supposed to tank the mob.

I'm low lvl myself and I have a cleric as well. Killing normal mobs in 2-3 hits is perfectly normal, maybe even 1 hit if you have a good weapon. Every weapon can do this with normal mobs, at least at low lvl, even the very weak Cleric Rod. However, you will notice a difference at party mobs or giants. While a wizard may do 1000+ damage (at low lvl ^^), you'll only do like 200. This difference will grow, otherwise there would be no sense in Wizards, would it? For normal mobs, your 200 damage might be sufficient to onehit or twohit. The stronger the monsters get, the more HP they'll have and sometime the damage difference between you and Wizard/Warlock will become very obvious. Your attack power won't decrease though, it only won't increase as fast as for a Wizard/Warlock/...

If you mean me, it's great I think. Still LVL 17 only since I haven't done any partyplay yet but focused only on the quests. It died twice yesterday, both times at Polipemos when being attacked by several monsters. I've survived many situations yet I doubt a Wizard would have survived as well. I am so satisfied with that build. I can kill giants while being attacked by normal monsters without problems - well, except maybe for the Polipemos :D

I am thrilled by how diverse gameplay is. I can suck blood, poison, burn the monster, make it fall asleep and much more. I use these skills whenever possible and I think in party play they might be even more useful then in soloing. I can only agree to those of you who praised the Warlock in this thread; it's incredibly fun indeed

However, I have one more question which is slightly offtopic: ATM I'm having 4 characters on one account of which 1 I want to be deleted. When I click on "Delete" it only says me that if the character I want to delete belongs to a guild its membership there will automatically be cancelled. So far so good. But then he does nothing, my character remains. So how can I delete it?
