I got a new laptop, here is some info....I dont have a clue about how to download silkroads. I have been trying for 10 hours, my new system crashing and restarting. Cant figure it out. I down load the Torrent, but it dont do anything. Whats it? I went to another site and down loaded the game about 7 times...crashing when i click on the ships as they come up..log in and then Crash every time to rebute.

I am on my husbands home network, his silkroads runs perfectly 24/7. so I know the firewall thing is ok. He is on WIN XP.

Can someone tell me what to do in terms a kid can understand? as I dont know jack sH*T about computers. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Do you have a torrent client? Like utorrent? If don't you need to download one, if you have, you need to look to firewall ports, problems in connection, traffic shipping, low upload, and modem ports enable and disable

Well after a whole day of trying all kinds of things I think I might have it just a little working.

I got a "blue screen" then an error came up about the driver thing. I went into the system and found that driver info and tried to update it there BUT the system said it was the most current. hahahah!

It told me to go to Intel or windows to update the driver. I went to intel and found that my chip family thing has problems with some games, however I did not find silkroad on the list. I did download it and now I can at least log on and play. HOWEVER it doest run nything like my husbands gaming computer. :banghead: Well, he has a 300.00 video card, guess that matters a little. Do I need to go back into Silkroad and down load that direct x9 thing also? On that same page should I do the patch? They could have made steps for people like me... :banghead:

Anyways...thank you for the link...I will go and check it all out and when I get home from work tonight I will make a post of exactly what I did....however I have crashed my new laptop over and over and ALL without making a backup of my OS system in the partion.. because it didnt come with disks...I have to do it myself................OH Brother!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

All this to play a game

If the problem is the OS Vista, you can try to use compatibility with windows XP, which is available on Vista
