This is the Artists Corner.
Doesn't that include us musicians? All I see here are PS-Artists. And yet, as talented as they may be, they're always second to us REAL artists, are they not?
Come on, guys. Shoutout if you play an instrument, or write songs, or anything. I think it's time to bring ANOTHER form of Art into the AC.

i play quite a lot.. i can upload some pics of my instruments.. i got em all
at home to jam with friends
piano about 15 years, guitar about 13 years (did 4 exams of which 3 with
all grades above 9/10), bass about 5 years in bands, drums about 4 years
in bands (and for fun, gettin rid of agression), singing for about 12 years now.
i play all instruments on above avarage level, but lately i cant seem to find
the time to really practise new stuff. nowadays, i just tend to grab my guitar
and start jamming with my brothers.
btw on guitar i played chords, latin and flamenco (not really the type for
classical music)
on piano i played ragtimes, blues, boogiewoogie (again; no classical stuff)
drums, bass, etc i played in bands so mostly rock/pop/alternative.
last thing ill add is that i have a perfect hearing. i can listen to songs and
know what chords they play. my guitar teacher used to test me on this;
every now and then he took 10 minuts for me to guess the chords he was
playing. i guessed em right. that includes septimes, majors, minors, etc.

You mean perfect pitch? I got that too. Can pick up a melody and play it back. You can hum a note, any note, and I'll be able to tell you what chord it is. FINALLY, in all my life, have never met anyone else that had perfect pitch like me.
BTW, I was just going through the Who Are You Thread, and I saw yours. I already posted it, but...
WESSEL. LOL.

piano for about 21 years. percussion for about 12. singing since the moment i came out of the womb. i play enough guitar, bass, brass, woodwinds, etc. to be able to write for them.
i collect percussion instruments from all over the world... i have about 50 instruments of about 18 different types of drums and other percussion instruments from 6 continents, 12 countries, and a handful of unknown origins. djembes, doumbeks, riqs, tambourines, shakeres, frame drums, defs, bodhrans, and some things that i have no idea what to call (but they make cool noises ;).
Bachelors of Music in Music Composition, Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ, USA class of '04
Masters of Music in Music Technology, New York University, New York, NY, USA class of '06
eventually want to write music for video games, or film/radio/tv if that doesn't work. one day.
in several bands currently, one a funk/soul/R&B project in which i play keyboards, organ, piano, some percussion, etc., another electronic rock project, some other dablings that i try to squeeze time in for.
PM me for some of my music. if you wish.
you can also probably find my old band's music on iTunes... search for Coiled. for that matter, Google them.
EDIT: i too have perfect pitch. accurate to about a quarter tone. it's downright irritating.

Been wanting to hear your stuff for a long time Sui. Didn't know you were so musical O_o lol.
I'm hoping to go to collage for music as well. But right now my high school grades are the suxzors.
Cin your acoustic strings are broken lol.
Ummm I play guitar but I doubt anybody will like the music my band makes lol. We have a self recorded song on our myspace. We're posthardcore/metalcore.
http://www.myspace.com/underthestairwell
It's an iffy recording. The clean vocals aren't too wonderful but my friend has gotten a lot better I'll update you all when we get more music up.
EDIT
Couldn't find Coiled anywhere. Looked in google, hook me up with some links or something.

interesting that you have nylon string acoustics and aren't a classical player. must be weired playing on such a thick neck w/ such light-sounding strings in a rock setting.

Sui, if thats you on all vocals, WOW! Those are really good vocals and songs overall. I like the stuff you guys are doing.
Code, for a new (Im assuming) and younger band, you guys are good too. One suggestion though. When it comes to your genre, it may be appropriate to incorporate a little more action between breaks. IE Drum fills/guitar solos.
As for me, I only play one instrument. I play trumpet at school. Lame, I know . Im 1st chair Jazz so I'm not totally bad, but I dont plan on going into music in the future, so its mainly just for fun and the experience.

yah, me = vocals. that was our first album, produced in '01 i think. that stuff is... hella old.
How Long?
Waiting
The Lost <--- my favorite one
three cuts from our never-released final album. completely raw, unmixed and unmastered. the band disintegrated right as these were recorded, 2 years ago almost. drummer and one guitarist both decided to bail simultaneously. a goddamned shame. i miss that band.
SG = top right first pic, far left 2nd pic.

I tried to play percussion 6-7-8th grade, our favorite band teacher went for a new job somewhere in 7th grade or 8th grade (hell if i know lol) and like half the band class dropped out.

Yeah we're new, that was our first song on the myspace. We've made a lot of progress, right now we're in the process of recording our demo.
Don't feel bad haha, I play trombone in the symphonic, jazz, and pep bands at my school. Pep and symphonic are integrated but it's still seperate stuff.

Don't mind him. He's stupid.
But if you're asking about the Cynthia comment, I made a thread a while back asking for helping downloading PS. I took a SS, and the folder it was under was called "Cynthia," which is my mom's name. They all thought I was a girl.

Ive worked as a freelance artist for many, many years ranging from simple coffee house dry pastels and holiday window painting to full on outdoor building murals. While you guys have an ear for pitch, I have an eye for scale. lol I have yet to find an artistic medium I cannot at least become proficient at.
I sure hope "real artist" isnt limited to musicians.
