Murder status: gear safe in rabbit?

If you have murder status, and you put all your stuff inside your rabbit inventory. Are they safe? Or will they still drop when you get killed?

I know that if you put it in rabbit and then turn rabbit off its safe. I dont know if its safe if the rabbit is still out.

They are safe in rabbit's inventory. But NOT in your inventory!
