Is it worth it to put points in those two skills if you are an archer? I was reading some topics around here that displayed varying opinions. It seems like firewall would be useful for nukers; I use it in PVP as a defensive move for the first strike, and it works well even though it's gone in one hit. Will they be useful in preventing attacks later on?

I got ice wall to play around with it. It's fun in pvp, but not very useful in pve cuz you can't move.

By 'fun,' do you mean useful or just fun to mess around with?
Like, if you cast a high leveled crystal wall and someone your level started attacking it, would the wall hold up for long? And the same for nukers and fire wall tower too >.>

I use it for fun only. It goes down in 1~2 hits (but I don't have it maxed). I suppose it gives you time to get in one extra hit to the opponent. I think it may be helpful for nukers because one more nuke could be the difference between you dieing or the opponent dieing. However, it really is useless in pve.

Its not really worth it in PvP or PvE, In PvP it will go down pretty fast Against Glaviers and Nukers, I wouldn't recommend maxing it, but if you want to try it out pur one point into it.

wrong
fire wall is very usefull
takes a glaive a soul spear soul and a normal attack to break the fire wall
when in a fire wall u cant be stuned/freeze/kded
so u have a free nuke when u load the fire wall

FireWall yes.
IceWall is nerfed at the moment. Any hit seems to break it. Hopefully they'll fix it. Castle Shield on the other hand, if you're bicheon, it's total ownage.

Fire wall is worth maxing out? :O Kinda different opinions here >_>
:.:.:, were you talking about a level 1 fire wall or an up-to-date one?
I wish I had Bloody fan storm though, it gives way more magic defense

It's only useful when someone's going to attack you, obviously. That being said, here are the two problems it with:
It takes too long to set up--if you try to set it up to save yourself from the damage of a nuke, you're going to be hit by the nuke before you can set it up.
You can't move--so that gives your opponent two choices. Fight or leave. You can't run after him.

Again im gonna say this... firewall doesnt block all damage from physical attacks. It blocks or negates magic attacks. If firewall could do the same for phys attacks there would be no use for a Ice wall. Test it out for yourself, I have both and use em quite well in pvp.
Yes you cant move while in one, but you can also disable it, ghostwalk closer, re enable it in a matter of 1-2 seconds. Just keep practicing it.

firewall is definitely more usefull than icewall for a pure or str hybrid cuz if ur fighting a int or int hybrid, thier nukes do alot of dmg and firewall absorbs some of the dmg. and the nukers are ranged if using nukes so its ok if ur standing still
i saw a vid of a lvl 54 pure str archer vs lvl 64 s/s nuker
and when the archer didnt use the firewall he got 1 shotted and when he used it he owned the nuker 1 or 2 shots and he used strong bow damn it!!!!!

Just wondering, about how much dmg does a player do before, and after the skill is cast. Just seeing how much it effects it.

Before I cast firewall, nukers my level do approximately 1.5k damage to me. After casting it, they do 2.7k to the wall. It doesn't have a lot of defense. For some reason nukers decide to be idiots and try and kill me repeatedly. Why do they hate archers so much T_T

Icewall is not gimped in pve,pve consists of different situations, against normal mobs, champs, giants and party mobs. When ur like me a lvl 79 Pure int spear or s/s fighting at Niya Generals against party mobs with a 8 man party you'll see what i mean.Icewall when maxed is very useful, considering party mobs don't move around much meaning you can be a statue and Nuke like hell while neglecting any possible dmg being done to you for nice while.

ice and fire wall are usless in both pvp and pve, just like someon in the thread said that it takes a hella lot of time to put up, and if you worried about ur magical defence u got the fire protection sereis wich is quite enough when maxed out.

Strongly disagree with you,
they both are helpful especially in pvp
believe me you will feel a lot more secure in your icewall when there is a rogue around you it can be a matter of life and death.
same goes for firewall yes its broken very fast but being able to block out a whole skill is crucial in some situation
putting up a firewall in a middle of a fight has a blocking ratio and therefor keeping you alive a bit longer for example when you are waiting for fanstorm or castlewall to finish loading that extra wall in between can save your life.
I agree on the part that you can`t attack and it actually takes some time to put up but with correct timings you can put up couple walls while waiting for your other life saving skill to finish loading.
i suggest everyone to max out their walls especially with the euro builds as your enemy.

They does take awhile to cast a wall, but as every nuker should know trying to fight head to head with a pure str is a losing battle, since nukers are ranged and it takes time nuke, or set up a wall, why not use phantom *like someone said befor* to get away. Phantom is prob the most useful skill for nukers and Archers alike.

it actuly can be useful in pvp. if you are fighting a blader (just as an example) you can put up fire shield(lasts longer because of bladers low mag dmg) so he cant kd you.

I Recomend Ice-Wall for PVP
because when you pvp your opponent always let you buff
so with max ice-wall, you ice wall has over 10k of hp. just think about it fighting a rogue for ex: they do 14k cryticla on you
you ice-wall is gona take 10k of the damage and you only get hit 4k
and rogue best skill cool down is like 10 secs right?
im sure any china can kill a europ in 5-10 sec top.
so ice-wall max is a 5 out of 5. get it if you don't mind farming more sp
to get it, and if you into lot of pvp you will need it.

YO,
Why is it always pvp, pvp, pvp.Icewall is far out more useful in PVE and yet people don't take that in account.Or do they?My orginial opinion stands.Be free to rebut it.
Icewall is absolutely great when grinding STR party mobs in Taklamakan and you're a pure int.
