This is when the crowd is going to come in and tell you that its all completely randomized. But take it from a fellow grinder. Some monsters just have a low drop rate. I say find a new mob to fight.

43 = 2nd fire nuke, so I guess youre a nuker. Try bunwangs and otherwise white/green mobs (cuz you kill more of them so it looks like you get more drops )

Green mobs drop the most items and they're in most cases easier to kill than orange mobs(except if you're lvl56~60 and fighting white faced spiders )

Killing an Orange Mob:
Pros:
Great exp
Cons:
Longer time to kill, uses more pots, lack of drops
Killing a Green Mob:
Pros:
Easy to kill, hardly use pots (mana may be the exception), more chances for drops
Cons:
a little lower exp
Personally I'll take the lower exp per monster if it means I can go through more of them in an hour, they give me more drops and I save money on pots. But it's your call.

There is good reason for this.
This system prevents people from grinding the highest mobs they can, leveling quickly, getting higher level items and making more money.
Its part of the economy balance.

To this date I have yet to see hard evidence for the "green mobs= higher chance of item per kill" theory, so I still call it bullshit.

Did green mobs during event.
Granted you don't get double.
But still. Count the drops and divy by 2. Have fun.

I think it is the fact that you have the same CHANCE of a drop, but because you can kill more in a given amount of time you are more likely to GET a drop. I know I don't normally get drops from earth ghosts but when I went out and tore up bandits at the same level I get a LOT more drops since I'm killing more of them. The chance is the same, you just have MORE chances. Like a raffle, the more tickets you buy the better your chances of winning.

Hard evidence:
In 30 minutes you kill 30 Orange Mobs. Thats 30 chances to get a drop.
In 30 minutes you kill 60 Green Mobs. Thats 60 chances to get a drop.
Is that simple enough evidence for you or do I need to break it down Barney-style for you?

Look, it's one thing to say you get more drops from green mobs because you kill more.
It's another to say greens have higher drop rate.
Since day one of people pulling the green=more drops bs, I've always said the reason is because you kill more per trip or in the same amount of time, everyone else says that the actual mobs have a higher chance of drops.

like saying can i hit you with this blade its blunt
and its bloody sharp but he ddint tell you
@ Ryoko
for all you know u coulda get the same amount of drops form white mobs u never know ^^ cause u cant grind both at once

Stallowned I get next to nothing from mages/shamans (except arrows), I go kill soldiers and guards and tables, elixris and items start dropping like its Christmas (mostly tablets).
Same thing happened in the caves. I kill nachals - nothing, Soldiers/warriors - crazy drops, especially evident during the last event. I ground there during the event though I got less exp, I made millions on npcing job items.
I think the killing speed has something to do with it but not everything to do with it.
Edit: I did test this, on many occasions. When I was low on cash I'd sswitch to green mobs and get the drops. When I need to level I go to gold/red mobs.

Um... in the end isnt that the same result?
People arn't putting a limit on the mobs they kill today, set out and count down from 300
In 3 hour sessions, do you have more drops?
Yes?
So does it matter?
There ARE rules to the item system. Especially once your too high. Items and gold espcially, stop dropping.

Sigh....Ok, obviously you dont know math or are just arguing to argue. Either way here, let me Barney-style this for you.
Killing 30 things is less than killing 60 things. So killing 60 things means, SINCE DROPS ARE RANDOM, that you have a better chance of getting a/more drops.
Should I slow down for you?
30 < 60
Yes, you could get 30 drops from orange mobs and 0 drops from all 60 green ones. What I'm saying is you kill more, spend less in pots, and have more chances to randomly get a drop by killing greens. Do I still go after oranges, yes, but not all the time. Anyone who does, spends a ton on pots.

What works for one doesn't necessarely work for others.
We all have had lucky grind trips or even lucky days when we get a whole bunch of equipment/weapons.
Likewise, we have all had unlucky grind trips or days where we don't get a single piece of equipment/weapon while grinding on the same exact mob and not doing anything differently.
Also, some poeple just have more luck than others, for example I've got 0 sox on my 73, yet on my 33 I've already got 3 sox.
There really is no way to prove that you can get more drops from greens compared to grays or oranges or reds, unless a Joynax employee actually told us exactly how drops are determined. There are just wayy too many factors.
The only way for a scientific experiment to be proven true, is if the same result can be obtained by other people using the same exact factors and conditions. If you do everything the same and you don't get the same result, tough luck. One obvious reason why this can't be proven, is because some people are just luckier than others. Secondly, we don't even know all the conditions that can affect item drop rate, do certain mobs have a general higher drop rate? Do certain people have a predetermined luck? Are drops calcuated according to the whole server, or does the chance for a drop only take you into account? Does killing faster/slower increase or decrease chances of getting drops? There are countless other conditions which could be included, but the thing is we don't know which ones are used, so unless persons x, y and z killed __ of __ mobs every day at __ o'clock for __ days using __ skill in __ location while __ other people were on the server doing the same thing for all those times and then they reported their results and they were all the same, you just can't prove something like this.

Farming on green archers at the den at 16 netted me about a full monkey of Equipment drops in about 1hour. So yea green mobs = faster kills = more drops

That's a load of you know what, too.
Everyone knows that for some unkown reason, you get many more drops at lower levels than at higher levels.

True.
Imagine the economy if we could maintain the droprate from the lower levels.

Maong are lower level than bunwang.
And here is the secret to getting good drop rates:
Fight white / green monster
Do you know who fights orange / red monsters? People with sos+5 or better or total noobs. Yes you are a noob if you are fighting orange / red mobs, stfu.

The higher level you get, the less you drops you get. That's how the game is.
It's very noticeable around 40 or so when you start grinding around hotan, and you don't get shit for hours at a time sometimes.

I been grinding on Nachals since they were red mobs for me.
Red, Orange, Silver and now Green - same drop rate, some days better than others
It is the mobs not the colour of the mobs in my experience.

Switched to orange/almost red (me, a 39, fighting maongs, 43), didn't get much drops but then a lv42 sos blade dropped and that pretty much keeps me going for a couple of levels :9
