Alright, it's about time this was said. No matter what happens here in SRO(bot/scam/would be hackers/ccf) this game is the best mmorpg out to date.

Before any of you say, "Have you tried any other games, noob?" Well, here goes.
9Dragons-shitty graphics
CabalOnline-Way freakin overrated
WoW-sh.it graphics/horrible gameplay/outdated fighting system
Everquest- See WoW^^
VanGuard-See WoW^^
Hero Online
Rappelz Epic3
Martial Heroes
KalOnline
2Moons
Take all these^^^5 and delete them if they are on your hard drive.
People always say this game isn't free. It is free to play, You COOSE to buy silk. It is very enjoyable without silk items.
If you complain about bots, stop. Bots don't bother you. If it is because they are"KSing" you then you don't know how to grind.
Server space and lag also isnt an issue, so stop complaining about stallers/bots taking up space. If you lag, buy a better comp /upgrade yoursget a better connection, or don't play the game.
And once and for all, stop saying you can get hacked while ingame, don't be paranoid people. There is no trade exchange hack. And as far as scamming goes. If you get scammed it's your own dam fault. Im sick and tired of high lvls saying aww man ..... this I got scammed out of my 64+ whatever sos, som, sosun weapon. You wouldnt get scammed if you didnt try to sell the dam thing for real money, which is illegal in the first place.

The only thing I can agree with you all on is players who babysit their bots to 80. Stop being lazy.

KK done. Sorry for the long post everyone. But it would be nice to come on this forum daily and see what you expect to see. A great community built around an awesome game. Let's quit the complaining.:)

I agree this is a very good game, although the Graphics engine could be made more to the standard of guild wars..i must admit its not good..but it looks very impressive :)

and Less server traffic would be nice..but Agreed, put up or shut up.

have you tried GuildWars noob?

Silkroad ain't the best mmorpg.WoW & Guildwars are much better than this shitty game.

if silkroad was P2P it would be much better , the game is free which attracts no-life people.

Guildwars isn't p2p and it's not that good.. You have to keep buying the new expansions for any thrill.. the actualy guild wars original game itself gets boring when you finish all the quest and have over 100 ecto + 180,000.. a kunavaang... etc.. theres just nothing more there.. no fun in peerless worlds :)

Let me add to the list of games to play before you run back to SRO at the dismay of the other games.

Space Cowboy
Legend of Ares
Cornum(nor sure spelling) Online

These other F2P games are a JOKE.

the fact that it is f2p has nothing to do with real-life and or being better.
You don`t need to find silkroad the best mmo now just cut the whines/flames towards the game it is just better than some realize ESPECIALLY for a f2p game.

oh no i have to pay to be online ...now i got to work couple ours but that will mean i got a life :banghead:

well a game needs somekind of magic to make me play it
i also tried most of the games you have stated but after couple hours i quited and none really gave me the feeling to get back to it sro is one of the few games that made me want to get to cap/highest level, and i still plan to get to there even now with my silk protest and yes you can enjoy the game without having silk.

I liked cabal more as sro, but the payment options weren't good for me.

<no CC blows and my country doesn't allow me to transfer money from my bankaccount to it.

thus it was sro for me.
I'm gonna test 2moons, it looks nice, but I can't cast an opinion untill I played it.

I will never says sro is bad, but the best mmorpg is said too much. The only think I really like about it are the graphics (which aren't even that good with an 128mb card :( ).

This seriously made me laugh. Just because the graphics are cartoonish doesn't mean they are bad. And horrible gameplay? I'm level 33 (not even halfway to cap) and I just got a quest to kill 1,000 Flowers. How is that good gameplay? I can't imagine how many kills a level 60+ quest is going to require. And don't get me started on the "Gather XXX amount of <whatever>", and then having to kill 7-10 mobs just to get 1 thing. This type of quest is fine when the number is low, but 200+ of something that drops sporadically? No thank you.

Really? So consistently not being able to logon because of "server traffic", and lagging while entering towns and fighting with no one around is because my high end dual computer and the best cable connection possible for my area. Yeeeaahh, I'm going to go with "No". Lag and server space ARE an issue, otherwise we wouldn't get new servers on top of the multiple ones we have now. It's not like there are 2 people in the corner complaining about it, most of everyone has had these issues at least a few times. It's just a matter of how much you choose to ignore it.

Is SRO a good game, yes. Does the fact that it's free help people overlook the imperfections, yes. In the end it's all a matter of opinion. What you like and can put up with and what other people like and can put up with are almost always different.

Cabal was fun for one day. After that you realize the whole game is about walking. Walk here, talk to that guy, walk there, talk to that other guy. Three towns with 50 NPCs and you talk to them all at least 50 times. In between that, you fight 5 mobs here, 10 mobs there, boring dungeon, talk, walk, blah blah blah. The only fun part is murdering ppl and trying to get out of the prison dungeon. Now THAT was a challenge. The rest? boring.

Before the bot, SRO was a challenge. High levels got there through sheer stamina. It was hard and when you got it, you really DID something. The bot cheated that and made being capped meaningless.

I've got a friend who has played that for years, almost religously. Tried and tried to get me to play for the longest time. When I finally did I think I gave it about an hour and then quit due to the fact that I wanted to carve my own eyes out.

being capped still does mean a lot when you are legit. it is so special in p2p games just because it is freaking hard to bot to that level. in sro it is the other way around it is freaking hard to not bot and get capped so i still find it challenging.

Wikipedia - "Although its initial release was hampered by server stability and performance issues,[1] the game is a popular[2][3] and a financial success, being the world's leading subscription-based MMORPG. On January 11, 2007, Blizzard announced that the subscriber base for World of Warcraft has reached a new milestone, with 8 million players worldwide, and with more than 2 million players in North America, more than 1.5 million players in Europe, and more than 3.5 million players in China.[4] The game has won numerous awards and recognitions, including Gamespot's Game of the Year Award for 2004. The first official World of Warcraft expansion pack, known as The Burning Crusade, was released on January 16, 2007."

Maybe as a whole but to yourself and others that are legit and know your legit it still means a lot, even with a gold ticket and all the other stuff we pay for it's still a good challenge and one that you can proud of for every cap that you hit.

I know what you mean though, I remember being in Jangan in the very early days and a 57+ ran past in a full 7th garment, jeez it looked so crazy. It was weird to even see anyone 57+, I remember the first time I went to Hotan to look round, there was about 30 people there.

The game and the atmosphere back then was awesome, we'll never have those days again.

Everyone who is REALLY a**hurt by the way the game is, MOVE THE F*CK ON to whatever it is that you wont complain about. Holy sh*t. I cant ever get onto the forum without constantly running into threads about how gay the game is. If it is that unpleasent for you, simply get your fat complaining a** up from in front of your computer and do something else.

Fly and I have discussed this a million times. Those that could back then, did. Those that couldnt, quit. Now those that couldnt bot. And it changed the whole atmosphere to one of shit talking prepubescence. BrowN was always a high level. He never made you feel like he PWN'D JUR AZZ!!11!! tho. Neither did Dark or Fly or most of the other old school high levels.

SRF and SRT are the biggest silkroad forums.
Compare that to http://www.gwonline.net and gwwiki or something like that.

Also, GW has 2 million players and Silkroad doesn't even have 500 000.

Your just getting picky now people.

Just because a Game has Millions of players it doesn't mean its better. i mean look at Blizzard, world wide organization, Joymax only has one main base, and thats in the far east.

I propose bases and more servers in Europe and the USA

then We'll talk figures

LMAO you compare wow to vangaurd you havent played vangaurd at all sro is garbage joymax is infarkingcompetant.

lol so we should just deal with bots scammers hackers becouse joymax cant do what every other gaming co. can .

Kid you havn't got half a clue what a real mmo is.

@ lvl 80 in sro you have at most 5-6 useable skills . Im lvl 18 in vangaurd i have 3 full hot bars of skills and i have to use them all to survive.

I have to group to kill the stuff thats worth it.

I can craft when i dont wanna lvl.

I can lvl my diplomacy when i dont wanna do either.

I can go to the VG official site and look up my characters blog and see screenshots i never took of her for milestones i achieve .

The world i play on is 30x larger than sro china and euro combined.

If im harrased i /report and a gm is next to me in under a minute.

You cant bot.

Good luck hacking sigil and sony.

I can log in at will.

No zones seamless world i never ever get a loading screen after innitial login.

I have attributes i can customise my char so she fights like no other char ingame.

Nobody looks the same at all there are thousands of weapons and clothing .

Over 2k char custiasation features at char creation.

Player housing.

Atomespheric flight.

Real pvp good vs evil no gay ass flags and safe zones.

you cant compare SRO to Vangaurd its like comparing pacman to sro.
Image

And lets not discuss graphics or gameplay VG shits on sro in every aspect of mmo gaming.

I think if the service for sro wasnt complete crap, it might be as popular, I really like the gameplay of sro, there could always be something to add or improve but dont forget, the is like not even half comeplete? >_>, sooo :P

Back in the 60 cap, when there was only chinese bots the chinese ppl had, things were awsome, you had this tiny little group of botters, that was it lol, and being capped meant something, the game totaly sux now for someone like me, I refuse to bot, and I wanna play the game because 1 I like, and 2 the friends I got on it, its frustratiung though when you goto a spot to grind and theres bots everywhere, and then after you do manage to grind you might wanna go jobbing for a little break and have some fun, but wait theres some capped botters there and all they wanna do is kill you and call you a dog, so how is "bots not affecting you" >.>.

Is vanguard only open to select beta players or can anyone signup and play right now? >.>

How "good" a game is, is all in the eye of the beholder. NOTHING you can say is going to change what someone else thinks about it. Saying "more people play it" or "it cost money, while this game is free" isn't going to change anything.

Dark areis and i have 10 free keys for friends you want one just ask . the DL will be free you wont have to pay 50 for the box. After ure trial its 15 per month if you buy silk at all you spend more thanthat per month.

Be prepared though i been playing mmo's since they were text based on green screens and vangaurd has broken the mold and amazed me and im not easily impressed it hard and extremely rewarding.
