omg SoSun 64 + suddenly hacked = something fishy....
edit: However, I think morningdew's responses were good. Not like she can do any more than that... she forwards e-mails to korea like they ask her to she probably just doesn't like the threads about it, because they create too much excitement.

The phrases "Joymax" and "Customer Service" go hand in hand.

Nono remember shes totally exhausted, and can't perform well. So ctrl C + ctrl V is the next best thing... to save work time that is.

It seems just about every single game has the same agreements and policies and usually GMs or staff auto-reply with automated messages. So dew's post wasn't too bad except warning to not post any complaints of hacks like sweeping it under the rug. But since everyone is criticizing JM, I will too! If anything happens, threaten JM with chargebacks, hopefully they'll move quicker.

I always thought before that if we just give them time, they will improve. But this is begining to look like a money pit. I throw my money into it and it just keeps disappearing. I am not hacked yet, but of course, its a matter of time. It's just a matter of time for all of us. Look at Greece and the recent rash of hackings on Xian. They can do it because there are no consequences. We are like Chicken Little running around screaming the sky is falling. But guess what JM, the sky really IS falling. For us it is at least.

Yeah the term, you get what you pay for is definately not applicable as far as Joymax goes. It is exactly what it's primary objective is though and that is to make money.

If 10,000 people bought 300 silk just once then that's already $300,000, the number of people across so many servers who actually play this game is possibly 20 times that amount and if they all bought 300 a silk a month since the item mall was added that's around $60,000,000 and that's the minimum considering some people buy more than 300 silk a month.

60+ mil easy, not bad for a game thats "Free To Play", I wonder why it isn't spent on hiring about 20 more in game GM's, bigger servers etc

Ummm not to be a jerk...but it is $3,000,000(That owns 300k)
I made a post about this earlier on a different forum. But think that is only 10,000 people. I know there are Tons more that spend that much atleast!

That copy pasta was not her doing, Plus. It was posted by other staff using her acc.

All in all, I believe these employees are being backstabbed by JoyMax. They already forwarded the complains directly to Joymax. But received no response whatsoever, and what could the employees do beside defending their company until they had an answer ? Good Job, Joymax. Congratz for trashing us and your dedicated employees. We <3 you.

Your forum, your shitty forum, is like a house, opened widely for thieves to come in and rob all your valuables. Wait, not your valuables, our valuables we stored in there. And since it's ours, you don't give a shit. Not your loss at all.

NB wrote:

Again sounds reasonable... can you prove it though, can you prove that you didn't just give your details to someone, someone you thought you could trust and it backfired and you lost your account, of course not.

One of the main reasons why they never act on it is that you can't prove that you shared your account info out or not. An IP check is useless because you yourself can login to your SRO account from any place in the world.

Whichever way you look at it, you can't get around it. All you can do is never share your account info, never use that forum, change your pw every few days, always use a 12 digit one of random numbers and letters and if gameguard is still down don't use the game either.

You can go ahead and still use the forum, still use sro even though it has no gameguard, the fact is that the warnings have been written out, the risks have been told, but if it does blow up look closer to home for someone to blame.

It has been proven, by Joymax themselves.

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

A recent posting that was made regarding the administrator accounts
and passwords has come to our attention. Though the contents of
the posting may not entirely be true, some parts of the claims may be
true
, and we are beginning to investigate the causes and sources of
this matter. A further announcement will be posted when our
investigation is completed.

Even if the claims are true, account passwords are encrypted to
protect user privacy and have little chance of being cracked. However,
we recommend that the following users please change their passwords.

1. If your password is a simple word, phrase, or is easy to guess
2. If you have not changed your password recently

Please change your password now, and we will post further updates
when our investigation has been completed.

We ask for your patience and cooperation in this matter. Posting
further replies or topics takes time away from our administrators
in focusing on this urgent matter.

Even the admins ate it pretty bad. =)

No, it's not how you put this condition, because from the first it's already Joymax fault. It should be like this.

Joymax attaches a bomb to each of us and threw the remotes away. We all can do nothing but wait, wait until someone finds it and detonate the bomb.
BOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

And NB, it's not directed to you, but Joymax.

300silk = $30
$30 * 10,000 = $300k per month which is probably conservative.
So the original poster calculation is right.

For earning predictions, here's Maplestory's:
Quote:
As of Feb. 2006, Wizet has generated 200 million USD from the game service in Korea. Wizet received 110 million USD for licensing the games to other parts of the world.[citation needed]

Well, I've given it a try, and sent an email to morningdew. I hope she can get through to the right people in Korea. So far I've sent about 15 emails and 4 bug reports to Korea, so I can relate to the feelings of some of the people in that thread. I've already written tons of times about how I got hacked in other threads on SRF so I'll refrain from doing so here. :)

As I've written JoyMax many times: they may not have a legal obligation to help out, but considering this is caused by a hole in their security they at least have a moral obligation to help out a loyal (paying) customer rather than let a thief keep their stolen account. Contrary to the initiator of that thread I'm not asking for my money back; I'd love to get a rollback of my character, but I'll settle for just getting my cleaned out character back under my control.

People who buy gold deserve to have theire account hacked.

But paying customers who bought things trough use of the item mall should be better protected.

But it's true what you are saying,if you have excellent weapons armor and items then others want it to..

For every upside there's a downside..

people who buy gold dont deserve t, but they are more at risk bec ause of it, if anything they certainly dont deserve to be hacked, thjere contributing towards jm

but im glad you see my point

Hell I'll be an ingame GM for FREE. I could ban a TON of BOTS just sitting by the corner of the stables where all the bots pause to turn the corner. had a stall set up there a few days ago and they would stop on top of each other so perfectly it looked like only 1 guy was there. Just sit there for a few hours and BAN AWAY. I followed one and he went right to the flowers, go figure.

I agree with you, why keep a forum online that isn't safe? There's no explanation for it other than they musn't care very much about it, it's like filling a lake full of sharks, putting a sign saying DANGER SHARKS NO SWIMMING! and then not caring who's stupid enough to get eaten or not.

Yeah totally and even if it was page 100 their still covered by the fact that you COULD have gone through all the archives and read it as stupid as that sounds, if you was in a court you couldn't get around that one. It needs to be on the main page.

It seems just about every single game has the same agreements and policies and usually GMs or staff auto-reply with automated messages. So dew's post wasn't too bad except warning to not post any complaints of hacks like sweeping it under the rug. But since everyone is criticizing JM, I will too! If anything happens, threaten JM with chargebacks, hopefully they'll move quicker.

no, im just saying, u not the only one at risk if your buying gold/silk, theyre the most vunerable people because hakers want wat youve paid for

I agreed on the fact that if you have expensive gear you're a target for others,in this case hackers.

But if you buy gold you deserve to have you're account hacked.

Don't make me explain the reasons behind that opinion,it's to troublesome, just search around the forum or use you're imagination.
