As much as I don't agree with civilians arming themselves with firearms I can't argue with this one....This will make fiction proud....WARNING..GRAPHIC..

Exactly what carrying concealed is supposed to be about. Very good find, all though I don't know if I'm just desensitized to violent videos, or what, but not really graphic content.

I remember when even anime(Elfen Lied) was kinda eh for me to watch, now i've seen real beheadings and its no big deal. Was thinking this isn't graphic to me as well. Still don't want to see animals hurt tho, but people are fine.

Though I think this chump deserved it, Vegeta did bring up a good point.
Once the other person begins to flee the case can change from self defense to murder depending on state/country laws.

Does anybody have any more info on this particular case?

This robber had a gun. There's no way to know if he wasn't running back to just get a better angle and cause harm to this guy.

From what I've read, and granted, my spanish is very rusty, and google translator is just as bad... This took place in Caracas, Venezuela. The guy that comes around the corner after the first guy is another assailant. You can see in the video that he pulls his weapon. The first robber was killed at the scene, but the other one escaped. Apparently the guy had notice them pull up in their car around the corner. This is why he was being very cautious, and almost hurried(noticed he almost forgot to lock the door).

I didn't read anything about what happened to the guy defending himself, so if you wanna find out more, the incident took place behind "Iglesia de la Chiquinquirá"(church) on the date shown in the video.

Eh? Pretty sure if you put this '10.501162,-66.875982' in google maps, it will show you exactly where it took place.(Buddy of mine lives down there, so I know a little bit bout Caracas)

i dont think he would have shot him after he ran away, guy had his gun pointing at the other at pointblank and doesnt seems like he tried to shoot the driver.

he was using his weapon as intimidation, not to murder.

Im the kind of guy that would probably crack jokes as someone hold a gun at my head.

@Vegeta:

Not from where I grew up and definitely not from where I live now. You'd be dead.

Fear might be self-imposed but a bullet isn't (unless you're suicidal).

I have zero problems with these lowlifes getting killed. In fact, I believe it would make the world a better place to live in if it happened once every second..maybe 20 times every second, who cares. Sadly, you do have a point as far as how the court decides what is self-defense and what is manslaughter/murder. If the guy did attempt to run away and you still shot him, it can possibly count as manslaughter. And if the court does decide on your innocence, the family of the dead piece of shit can still file a lawsuit in civil court for money.

The guy was still by the car when he got the kill shot, I'd still consider that self defense. If he chased him down the block shooting at him thats different.

@inky - Even though I don't believe vegeta would crack a joke hes kinda right, most people aren't willing to shoot especially when they are just trying to carjack you. You think they really want the car covered in grey matter?

He was trying to rob someone at gunpoint, even if he was using it for intimidation or was running away, at that point you lose any sympathy for the robber.

I'm gonna +1 this, just because it's the only thing I'll probably ever see i2i on with TheDrop. You cannot waste a moment sizing the guy up, or trying to think, will the stranger actually shoot me, or will he just bash my head in, if I don't hand over everything I have.

Whoever said that had to be speaking on different terms, or very shallowly. Fear is a basic, or even primal emotion. This quote would be more accurate if you replaced fear with anxiety. If someone had a gun up to your face, being able to recognize what it is, you would become fearful on an almost instinctual level. You can be tough all you want, but on a subconscious level you still know a bullet through your brain will end your existence.(thus fear)

It might be possible to rid yourself of certain triggers that causes fear like getting use to having a loaded gun in your face regularly.... But I'd argue that it's near impossible to remove fear outright as that is ingrained into our psychological make up...We all fear something... Unless you're mentally deranged or a complete sociopath...
