yeah at lac megantic

propane train exploded overnight as it was going through the city

i think there's like 50 deaths

CEO of the company made alot of drama saying he had nothing to do with it and blaming his employes

this is actually an ads that was airing back in 2012 about one of the bar that got caught in the explosion and were most of the casualities happenned


its pretty wrong but I had a little smile at the end

The train was left unattended on a steep slope overnight. Brakes failed like an hour after it was parked. The train gained speed going downhill and didnt make it through the bend.

I go camping there twice a year. The "downtown area" is really small and it's mostly gone, it's horrible what happened. Lac-Mégantic is about 6000 thousand people, and 50 died. That's close to 1% of the town's population!

Here's two videos of the incident, the first one the guy runs for his life as a tank explodes, and the second one is the resulting fires.

The train driver been in a similar accident I believe in 2009 I've read...Left the train parked without adequately braking it and it rolled but didn't go far or caused any damage...
