White guilt, the guilt of being descended from total manipulative, greedy, ignorant assholes
in fact i think Black History Month is an easy pass for whites to get rid of said guilt "Oh we are sorry we enslaved, beat, lynched and dehumanized you, you can have a whole month to celebrate the struggles you faced [that we placed in the first place]"
I disagree with this.
You act as if because I'm white, I enslaved you're ancestors. And therefore, should feel guilty about it. Which, to be honest, has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Holding people accountable for the sins of their fathers is retarded. Not to mention, expecting the ancestors of these "fathers" to feel guilty for something they never did.
On a similar note, YOU have not been enslaved at any time during your life. Nor were your parents. So quit having a chip on your shoulder over something that both of our ancestors did, or did not, do.
And again, I'm not a fan of slavery, never have been, never will be. But if you looked into Slavery. Slavery started when African tribes would form raiding parties to raid their neighboring tribes, to kidnapp African's so that they could sell them and make a profit. African's opened the flood gate to slavery. The rest of the world simply took it to the next level. If you want to be mad about something, or expect someone to feel "guilty" then I suggest you feel guilty that the whole issue of slavery was a direct result of YOUR ancestors actions. And no one elses.
Am i talking about white guilt in favorable terms? Am i supporting "white guilt"? White people whining about the burden of being descended from assholes is both arrogant and irrational. Their (or lets say, YOUR) anger is about being reminded about slavery and segregation/discrimination. You are mad about such petty things, and then think that black people should just forget about having their ancestors enslaved, and even after being freed, being treated as dogs? Black people being angry about their past is rational, your anger at their anger is irrational. I feel like you were taught in some Kansan school that africans started the African slave trade, and you are using that to justify the 200+ years of slavery in America. First of all, african tribes did start if but soon Europeans began their own slave capturing escapades. But thats not my point. My point is that even a 100 year after the end of slavery, a shit load (a majority in the South) still treated blacks as people beneath them, fueled by ignorance and general retardness. YOU don't like Black History Month because it makes YOU feel guilty, which no one is forcing you to feel. Looking at Black history month as just a time to reminiscent about slavery and discrimination is superficial. Its a celebration of the achievement and accomplishment of blacks against hardships put on them by whites (or lets say, YOUR ancestors). Its not meant to make you feel like an asshole for being white, but you still do, so too bad.
You learn about the present from studying the past.
Btw I'm not African American, I'm a 1st gen immigrant from nepal. Also i don't like using the YOUR and YOU bs as it is unnecessarily aggressive, but you kept doing it so yea,

Also, if you don't see the relationship between guilt, anger, hate, disdain, and contempt..
