So there won't be any gold tickets/premium tickets other than the Premium +?

Why would Joymax do this? What's their strategies?

Hello! this is Silkroad Online.

We would like to inform our players that starting January 25, 2011, we have deleted Time service tickets in the item mall. Below are the list of items that have been deleted:

[Gold/Silver Time]
1-Day/4-Week Gold Time Service Ticket
1-Day/4-Week Skill Gold Time Service Ticket
1-Day/4-Week Silver Time Service Ticket
1-Day/4-Week Skill Silver Time Service Ticket

[Premium]
Beginner Premium [A/B-PKG]
Premium Gold/Silver Time (4 weeks)

After the server inspection today, the items in the list are not available in the item mall anymore.

Please note that Time service tickets that were purchased before the item deletion date can still be used.

Thank you

Supply and demand, if the demand is high enough people will break and buy the premo+, the only available ticket.

I think they're pushing for the exp/sxp boosters. It might be good since we would not be tied on GT, we can use the scroll when we're actually grinding. The problem is the scrolls are expensive. If it's cheaper then it's the best solution to 'i cant pvp / jobbing because i have GT'.

Well, actually there is a good thing about this. Quite a few people in our union refused helping lower levels, because they were on GT. Now they don't have to worry about that anymore and can help lower levels without wasting their ticket time. We just have to wait until all the GT's are gone, then they can't use that excuse anymore.^^

True! And besides, this is even better for casual playes like me who can't play 3 hours each and every day :sohappy:

No offense, but that's kind of silly. Even if you are a casual and you can't get your full three hours, it's still basically free double exp all the time for a month. The boosters last like an hour and cost way more. No way is that a "good deal for casuals".

That's kind of an over simplification. Sure, some people will buy premiums instead of their old gold tickets, but they'll also lose money on the people who won't buy anything now, me being one of them.

What they SHOULD HAVE done was make the premium plus worth while in the first place. I'm sure a 200% exp bonus from the ticket would have attracted the people who are buying them now anyways and would have kept the people who really don't want to spend 30 bucks a month on a video game. It's not like it costs them more money to make it give more, they're not manufacturing anything, at most they change the value of one variable from exp + exp to exp + exp + exp.

Or, do what I do and get a prem + knowing full well you'll never actually use it all, so then you don't mind if you waste time pvp/jobbing.

It's not an oversimplification, it's exactly what it is. Regardless what you may think would be a better idea, the world does not revolve around you. And while you may not break, there are plenty of others that will and thus this oversimplified plan would turn a profit; be it equal or greater than before.

It certainly is. McDonald's doesn't get rid of their one dollar chicken sandwiches just because they bring out a new 6 dollar one. Some people will be willing to buy the 6 dollar one others will be happy with the one dollar one. Most companies know that the less you make available the less dynamic your consumer base is. Especially when there's no overhead for production, like with an item. They may think they're somehow going to make more money in the long run, but their wrong. Besides upsetting a large group of their consumer base, they've set the benchmark at 30 bucks, a price not everyone can or will pay.

Don't start with this relativism crap. It's a bad idea because it's not rationally sound, not because "I think there's better ideas".

Not necessarily. There's no way to know if it turns into a greater profit than before until some time has passed. If they used the idea above (which any sensible company would), they would have increased sells of the premium and would have kept the people who buy the gold and silver. Now, they'll get the people who will cave and buy the premium, though they probably would have bought the 200% bonus anyways, and they lose the people who won't buy premium for whatever reason.

lets rewind this back to when the premo was introduced, a great portion of the community that was willing to pay for silk switched over to the premium soon as it was introduced, or at least as soon as their current gold ticket ran its course. Yes it was more expensive, but people that wanted the advantage took it. When I quit those that were paying for regular GT's were those that were using certain bots that would allow them to just auto login, thus eliminating the need for a premium. There was an even smaller legit community buying the GT for the simple reason that they wouldn't, or couldn't, pay for it.

So as you can see; if in fact this is Joymax's plan, there is some history to back it up. What you say makes sense, but this idea is quite valid as well.

Hm, I don't remember a time in which gold didn't get the preferred access, though to be fair, I hadn't played for several years at that point. Even if it didn't at that point, it's quite clear that it didn't work, since gold tickets did give access before they were taken away several days ago. This leads me to the conclusion that whatever they were trying to do didn't work then, and probably won't work now. The legitimate community is so small it's atrocious. Besides places like Azteca, even the largest legit communities are made up of about 3-4 people.

It seems to me if they want to start really making money they would fix the problems with the game(problems that wouldn't take much effort to fix, mind you). The people who do pay 30 dollars a month will most likely eventually get sick of it and not be willing to pay it anymore. Bots most likely wouldn't feel inclined to buy squat(some do I'm sure, but I'm also sure quite a few don't), since they don't have to sit there and watch their characters level up at .001 per kill like everyone else.

I'll most likely play with the regular exp rate until I get sick of it then move on to something else, just like the people who are gonna pay 30 bucks now will eventually realize that for 30 bucks a month their getting a game that looks as though it was translated in Google translator and bot ridden that costs about twice as much as even the most expensive p2p games.

We'll see what Joymax does at that point.
