Hm, wait. Does that mean you finished everything, which you started, in your whole life so far? Did you never give up on anything in your whole life? And you are going to do that in the future too? Why don't you start coding a private server then? As you finish everything, which you start, and never give up on it, the server will definitely be finished sooner or later, but it will be finished for sure, as you never give up on anything. Go ahead, i am waiting for your server. This is your chance to show everyone here, that you can do it all better than the Zelos Team. xD

thnx for trying and it had some fun moments, the gms were always nice to speak to ingame even if they got moaned at 24/7

Well, this was then just one big waste of fucking time. Especially for the ones that actually cared about server, reported bugs, tried to promote the server by making videos etc etc.

Guess I'll have to thank Zelos's team for actually making a fun server for a month or 2.

Well I wont even start coding a server because I don't know shit about C# or C++.
And no I didnt finish everything and you are right about that, I may have formulated that wrong as I meant this server. you remember? when ECSRO was up and eSRO started... a slap in oceans face etc, the best pserver with euro etc? I am sure you do, well could you give me aa screenshot where you have you euro character?? If I could code i would NEVER give up on it, thats how coding works, you fix something and another bug comes up, they had such big words, flaming others etc.

And how do you know they will finish it? if the main coder says he stopped coding, then it won't be finished. Not this year, not next year, but soon?

You missunderstood me. I said, if you start coding a server, you will definitely finish it, as you never give up on anything, after you started it. Therefore i suggested, that you start coding a server, then we can be sure, that the server will be finished.

I am aware, that the project is over and it won't be finished, but it doesn't matter. I had fun, while it lasted and now i'll just go back to KSRO and play there together with some friends. On KSRO there are barely any bots and you'll always get the new updates first.

Well, you better don't start anything then. You might not be able to finish it.

Sometimes there are just things, where you only know, if you can finish them, when you go ahead and try it. You can't really blame someone for trying things, which haven't been tried before. You should rather blame that ones, who just keep doing the same things over and over again, as they are too scared of the failure, which might occur, if they try taking new paths.

It was a good project. Imagine that the server would get finished and players just didn't know about this server. Knowing that a lot of players were eager to play on this server, was probably a big motivation for the coder. What npcdoom pulled off, is great work. Noone got so far with a decent privateserver project. It's just regrettable that the way they started this project was to "hyperkinetic". The development was underestimated. A little mistake in businessplan. Everyone makes mistakes, even the great entrepreneurs (notice the word choice). You should focus on the fun time people had, and the idea that it IS possible to have a working privateserver.

Less crying, more searching for coders. Don't let the programming/advertising/bugsearching-time get to waste.

it was going the right way. i enjoyed the time i spent there and would probably enjoy even more as time passed by and bugs were being fixed, leading to a fully "bugless" release. it is a big fucking shame that shit like this happened (from what i understood shit between staff) leading to the shutdown of the project. this was, by far, the most promising and in my opinion one of the best if not the best private server out there. i was looking forward to this, since it would start out with cap 60 and then go to cap 70 with china only, which were the caps i loved the most.

oh well...

I disagree. Fake would imply that they never actually planned to finish this whole project. That they just worked on it to fool everyone else, but that's definitely just not true. Do you really think they would waste their time on coding and actually improving the server significantly, if they didn't intend to finish it anyway? Well, i don't think so. They did their best to finish the project, but in the end it just turned out, that it just wasn't good enough in the end. They did a great job and as stated before, you can't really blame them for trying out something new, even if it turned out as fail in the end. Without trying new things and taking the risk of failing, there wouldn't be any progress.

Btw, as far as i know, they didn't even take much donations actually and the servers, forums, IRC, etc. aren't for free either. If they would want to earn lots of money, they could just take the old crappy server files of ECSRO, SWSRO, etc. and put up their own server, but they didn't do that. Why would they take the hard way of fixing all bugs on an emulated server, if they could just take the old, but working server files and put up a server with almost no efforts? I guess the main motivation for this server wasn't really to earn money with it, they were rather trying to make a server, where people could play this game, as it was actually meant to be, without being disturbed by bots or plevels. Anyway i guess it's useless to argue about that with you guys, as you don't seem to understand my point anyway.

Even though it wasn't succesfull in the end, it was at least worth trying to code such a server.

I can tell you, NoC was not at the root of the problems, he's just the one that made it come out. And I would like to thank everybody who actively participated in testing the game, and I'm quite sure your efforts will not be for nothing. Who knows, maybe npcdoom will start, again... one day.
