First I learnt how to type faster, purely from the mass of hours I spent infront of the computer. I have a better understanding of other religions and cultures, especially Islam, just from chatting to Muslim friends. I know a bit more about the Gaza and Israel conflict, even if it was from a biased source. And finally, I met a lot of good friends that I still talk to on a daily basis, months after I quit.

So, what did you learn from SRO that could be useful in real life?

Typing speed increased dramatically and grammar is all but dead to me.

I learned to read faster, a lot faster. I'm assuming it's because of all the chatting.

I learned never to try another MMORPG again, no matter how 'cool' it looks. Not sayin' I didn't have my fun, but 4 years is nutty business.

Only thing I learned from this game was to not be so forthcoming in trusting the majority. Not from personal experience, but from guildies / friends' certain "happenings" ...lol

I learned that I can't be be around turks or people who have bad english. My grammar decreased and I am getting in the habit of talking like them.

Ex: Do you want to make +6 bow?

Right way to say it: Do you want to make a +6 bow?

That's the human brain for you, very lazy but very creative at being lazy. Although the correct way, I'd say, is "Would you want to upgrade a bow up to six times?"

I find myself talking in very short sentences with shortcut words like "u, pls, plz, mobs," in any chatroom. Otherwise in forums I have all the time I need to write :)
