while I was actually criticizing doesn't mean I'm against this project, I'm curious to see what will come out of it, maybe I was too "agressive" but what I was trying to get to is, this seems to be a nice project and would be a shame to ruin it with some bad options in the very start of it

No, think at it this way.

Lets say they have 10x rates when the cap is level 60, it will only take 2-3 days to get to cap, which obviously is to fast. So they gotta keep the rates at a minium so it atleast takes some hard work. Now if there just was original rates for 60 cap it would maybe take 2 week or so to cap, but then you got to work hard for it. How ever, later when they increase the cap to 100, original rates will be to low. Since it's a private server, they gotta give something that makes people to wanna play their server and not the official, and keeping the original rates wouldn't help.

Why go to a private server and you got to grind just as much there like on the official server and risk that someday your character will dissapear by a lawsuit or no money to keep the server up or something? You take a risk, and people want a reason to take that risk.

Sure, the new people that arrive when the max level is 80, they have higher rates so they may get there faster, how ever they got 80 levels to catch up on but those people who already was 60 just got 20 levels. It may seem unfair for the players who grinded their way up to 60, how ever they need to have something that makes new players wanna join too.

So it would have made more sense if the thing Zelos called "Closed beta" to be called "Alpha" and by now the Closed Beta would begin, they should only invite like 200 people or keep the registration open for 3-4 hours and then close it, and after a couple of week the database should have been deleted so everyone in CB have to restart over when Open Beta begins.

99% of all games wipe all character data when they hit Open Beta, and when the game is fully released, the players that played in Open Beta get to keep their characters unless some serious bugs or exploits are found. This is how most of the games work and Zelos did a stupid move to not follow the normal path instead of trying to "create" something own.

Sooner or later they will see a lawsuit even if they are cautious or not, and I'm pretty damn sure Joymax already knows about this little project, they are just waiting for the right time to strike. Emulator or not, what they are doing is still illegal.

I think you're missing my point here.

I'm not debating what the status of what Zelos is regardless of the title it's been given. Everyone knows what it is but what we don't know for sure are the loop holes that may come with it. For all we know calling it an "emulator" negates it of copyright infringement--doubtful but who knows. So the creators of Zelos decided that giving it the the title "emulator" was the best course of action.

What I'm really picking on is your choice of words just for the sake of clarity. It's not their ignorance that makes them call a prostitute an escort. It's that they know they will get in trouble if they are simply blunt about it so they choose to be coy instead.

Are they incredibly brilliant about it? Not really, but oh well.


That point aside I do agree with you on how the rate system should work. Even if getting from 1-60 is easier for late comers doesn't mean it makes it easier for them to get from 60-80. At the end they are in the same boat you are in which is the platform that private servers sell themselves on. The emphasis being not on how much grind time you put into your character but other aspects of the game.

there are tankers, nukers, and sort of healers (but no buffs)... the problem is the aggro

and the fact nukers can sort of tank unlike wizards...

So basically a party full of nukers?

If I have read what they have said correctly than there probably will be snow shield. Im pretty sure they are taking ksro as it is (-euro) at the version they stopped at and they are capping the level at 60.

its a part of the game.
