The changes are permanent, deal with it or GTFO.
Anyways I deleted Allods and now moving on to HoN
I can't even express how much rage I have with gpotato and Mail.ru, they ruined a game that was originally made to be epic. I cant find the topic on the EU forum where a Russian player describes what really happened to the company who was called Nival in the beginning, but I gonna describe what I remember. Around 2005 Nival announced that they were making a F2P MMORPG that really should be Free 2 Play, the Cash Shop wouldn't interact with the gameplay in anyway and they aimed for million of players world wide, after a while they merged with the developing company Astrum, that's today what we call Astrum Nival who earlier was 2 complete different companies. They went low on money while developing Allods Online and that's where mail.ru come in. They basically saved the company. But mail.ru didn't like the business model they had, it was to "Free 2 Play". Mail.ru basically wanted to kick out those from the game who didn't pay. Small population but getting huge incomes from them > Huge population but with less payers. It kinda makes sense when you think about it. I remember a interview with the EU developer saying that the cash shop wont ever interact with the gameplay in any way, that there wont even be potions who make you stronger temporary, and that interview took place just a couple of weeks before mail.ru bought Astrum Nival, and look what the cash shop is now? After level 20 you cant kill a monster on your own level without wearing a incence. If you guys remember that rumour that circulated around the allods forum about all developers had left the team etc? It was actually half true. The main Allods producer from Astrum Nival got bought out for I believe was 4 million dollar and got replaced with mail.ru's developer. You cant really blame gpotato for what have happened if statements over me are true. They had a major MMORPG on their hand and gpotato took the advantage of hosting it here for the NA and EU regions since they knew that it would be successful. Boy was they wrong.

Well I guess this post says it all.Its from Slavan,a russian player that has moved from the russian servers when they put patch 1.1 till the european servers put that patch too:
1.5 years ago, when I saw the game for the first time, during the first Russian Closed Beta Test, it was like a MIRACLE! Game creators promised, that it will be completely F2P game, with millions of users. The Cash Shop was intended for fashion items only, they strictly declared, that there will be NO items in the Cash Shop, which could make the player stronger (like "Incense"). ONLY fashion items, and scrolls of experience (for those, who wants to grow faster). This plan was so perfect, it really COULD have millions of players population...
But one day, "Nival Online" was aquired by "Astrum Online Entertainment", and was renamed to "Astrum Nival".
Then, later, the whole "Astrum Online Entertainment" was acquired by "Mail.ru". That was evil. The chief of "Nival Online", named Sergey Orlovsky, was the man, who created the "Nival" company in far 1996 year. That was him, who wanted to make a completely FREE game for millions of users. When "Mail.ru" acquired his company, Sergey Orlovsky left the chief chair (or the new owners has kicked him out), and then began all those bad things.
"Mail.ru" decided, that Orlovsky's plan was "too F2P", Orlovsky wasn't so greedy, his policy was to HAVE VERY SMALL INCOME from every player, but to have MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIPTIONS. New owners decided, that it is better to have LESS PLAYERS, but MORE MONEY FROM EACH PLAYER. I think, it is stupid. But they just want to get money AS FAST AS IT IS POSSIBLE, not taking into account than it will create the bad reputation of the game itself. Maybe, they want to "squeeze all the juice out" of a agme, and then throw it away. They are stupid businessmen, they don't realize how unique and brilliant is "Allods Online". Later, Orlowsky was interviewed, and he commented the "Mail.ru" policy: "What Mail.ru is doing with Allods Online - they are fracturing (breaking, splitting) the Allods Online gaming community." (This means, literally, - They want to kick out all people who completely don't want to pay, and leave only those, who can pay.) That's why developers didn't pay attention on all our screams in Russian forum - they were ordered to ignore all the fuss in the forum, and wait until all those "wrong" people leave the game.
Many Russian players left the game after Russian AO 1.1 patch. But then came new people (less kids, more students and adults), and constantly coming new people. And currently (3 months since Russian AO 1.1 release) everything is calm enough...<-- This is the future on European AO too
But most those people, who left Russian AO 1.0.07 and AO 1.1, came to English AO 1.0.06. And today, after european AO 1.1 patch, all those people will either return to Russian AO, or leave the game completely. They won't stay in European AO anyway.
BTW, all those patches (1.0.07, 1.0.00, 1.1.00) was not only players' pain. It was also very painful for the developers (not the owners, but developers team - painters, coders, designers, musicians, story-line creators, and forum GMs). Those people PUT THEIR WHOLE SOULS into creation of this game. You can feel it everywhere in the game - they created this game with love... They created a high quality game, with fabulous graphics, very interesting quests story-line, good 3D engine, perfect animations, vivid monsters, realistic landscapes, and unique fatures... All those people are Orlovsky's team, they are good people, most of them are on our side, they wanted "Allods Online" to be completely free too. Of course, all those artists and creators always like to bring happiness to the players, and they would like to create a game for millions of people to enjoy. Part of the creators' team left the company during those patches. But most of them are still there, creating and polishing the game - that's why I like "Allods Online" very much.
This is what happened to "Allods Online". That's why on the surface, it seems like "Allods Online" evolution before AO 1.1 was constant REMOVING of features. (while normal game evolution should be opposing - constant ADDING of features).
After the AO 1.1 patch, I think, "Mail.ru" achieved their purpose. Because, the "removing of features" stopped after AO 1.1.00.0 patch. In the newer pathes (1.1.00.1 and 1.1.00.2) the game is only evolving. That's good news - 1.1.00.0 is THE LOWEST POINT, after this patch, the game will begin ADDING features.
But looks like gPotato DO NOT understand all those AO history details, and why AO 1.1 is so important historical moment... They did the pain of AO 1.1 patch even worse by NOT PERFORMING THEIR MAIN DUTY - quality game localization (they left many AO 1.1 content not translated), and by STUPID (and unnecessary) re-balancing of the Cash Shop prices. My guidie posted this on our guild forums b4 it was taken down in the official forums

Its quite obvious to see what this patch has done to the game's playerbase. This thread use to be on top on a daily and even hourly basis, now its totally dead with only a few new people asking questions about the game only to be turned off by people who know whats really up.

That quest is completely removed, so it the bigger bank. Every quest that gives you a cash shop item is gone except 1 that gives you 7 cones of incence that last 1 day each, but what I've heard from noobs when I logged in yesterday was that they expire after 24 hours.

You going to regret that you wasted gpotatoes on a crappy mount when a new one is just around the corner + those 1100 gpotatoes could come in handy after level 20 when you cannot level without incence and you got to grind 70% just because your quests which before this patch got you through a whole level but now they just give around 30% You wont stay here for long, trust me.

Anyways how's the game now? is it still no incense no level? Yupp, but here's a statement from the european producer Quote: Dear Sarnautian,
What a summer! Things are crazy but I need to let you all know our plans for the present, the very near future and the longer term agenda of Allods Online in Europe.
Last week, I went to Russia to meet Astrum Nival, and it went well, even the smoke disappeared whilst I was there for a couple of days. I got to visit their offices and there are lots of people working on Allods Online, developing and integrating the future, but also working directly to address the views and concerns that the European community has. But enough “blah blah,” it’s time for some hard facts.
My main priority is to address the incense issue and provide you alternatives. We are currently testing “Volume 1+” on our test server that will feature modifications of the title for the European market. It will add in some game elements that were planned for a later patch, as well as introducing all new mechanisms which will appear in the game as a direct result of the feedback you have provided. Once more, you have been heard; just give us some time to implement the changes.
Here what’s in store for you once we go live with Volume 1+:
The Rough Dragonhide Backpack is now tradable, and does not bind when equipped. This means that you can auction it, or pass it along to alts once you’ve finished with it.
The Small Deposit Box is now tradable, and does not bind when used. This means that you can also auction it, or pass it along to alts once you’ve finished with it.
The expiration date on items acquired from the Boutique has been increased to 30 days.
The experience in the Astral has been smoothed and polished: players should now encounter allods way more quickly than before.
Astral encounters have been polished: they are now a bit easier than before, but still challenging and fun. Moreover, the HP of mobs has been decreased and the quantity of drops has been increased.
A daily quest has been added. When players complete this quest, they will receive the effects of Incense for a specific duration depending on their level range. This quest can be completed every day; you’ll need to talk to Marianne de Ardeur (League) or Elizaveta Rysina (Empire) to get it. More details on this will follow in the patch note when it is ready to go live.
Another daily quest is added in game to get Letters of Mark (experience potion). You may get this effect without going to Boutique, all you need to do is the quest. You will want to speak to Yuri Kavelin or Lev Polyakov in game for this quest.
We have already tested some of these elements and some are being fine tuned. These new features might not hit the live servers at the same time, but they will all come to the live servers at some point in volume 1+. As the effects of Incense are the priority for us, as soon as it is 100% good to go, it will be placed onto each server, along with the Astral smoothing, regardless of the progress of the other new features. As of now it is scheduled to go live, at the latest, the week of the 30th of August.
As a side note, we tested the ‘new’ Astral a few days ago and it’s looking good, but because the daily Incense quest is one of the biggest concern, we will wait to launch the Astral changes until it is ready to go live as well. In the meantime, as you may have noticed, we have applied a 50% discount on incense until the end of August.
We believe the daily quest that provides the effects of Incense is a step in the right direction, as is the one with Letters of Mark as rewards and it comes directly from your feedback.
Astrum Nival designed and developed those to be available in the game very fast. However, this is not the end, we are still discussing with the developer about going deeper with this key item and there might be new game design incorporated in the future. They want, as we do, to find something more suitable both for the players and their vision of Allods Online. So for now, we will see how it goes with those 2 quests and other adjustments. Based on the feedback we will receive, further changes may take place.
If you have been following Allods Online at GamesCom you will be reading about the future of Allods Online and what you can expect. As I was in Germany for this Game Convention I haven’t had the chance to tell you all this, however I have had interviews and I’ve asked that these Journalists pass on the good word! The future is simply wonderful and Allods Online is just beginning.
Here are some elements:
A new zone will appear on the Empire side at a level roughly around 20 so that the progression will be equivalent as it is on the League side. No more imbalances. This zone is called “Dream Factory” at the moment. Hopefully, it will please Yasker.
A guild progression system will be implemented in game. Yes, your guild will have levels and (of course) rewards at each levels. Here is some information on the mechanism:
* At level 1 (of the guild) the guild leader has a tabard. They can give this tabard to one person in the guild. Each time this person completes specific quests or actions with the tabard, they will grant experience to the guild. At specific levels of the guild, the guild leader will gain more tabards that they can distribute to more trustee members. Example of an effect at a specific level: your guild alchemist, with the tabard equipped, can create alchemy potions that have a bonus on duration.
* At level 15 (this might be fine tuned or adjusted), you will unlock the guild emblem. You will be able to create it via an interface where you can choose patterns and layers to design your guild emblem. It will then appear on your cloak but also other locations in the future (stay tuned on this!).
* A raid consists of 24 players, so something must happen when a guild has 24 tabards. This mechanism has no definite name just yet. I call it Astral Territorial War: your guild will able to fight every week against another guild to own a sector in the Astral and the allods that are in this sector. The two raids will fight on one of the 10 specific and newly designed allods and sectors where they will have to control specific points to win the battle. There will be bonuses for the winning guild. While I do not have all the rewards on hand, two benefits are more loot drops and direct teleports to the allods in this sector. In other words: no need to board your ship, you simply teleport there. Participation in the Astral Territorial War does not require you to board your ships. Tests showed that it would be too tedious this way, hence diminishing the fun so the developers decided that players would then teleport there.
* There will be a specific interface to keep track of who has a tabard and how much experience they have provided to the guild.
There will also be many more interesting things coming with the brand new guild interface:
A new zone will be added for high level players. This area can only be accessed via Gipat. In it, the PvP is Free For All (FFA), meaning that you can even kill people from your own faction, however if grouped one cannot kill its own group members. During specific times and when 10 players are in the zone, an event is automatically triggered that will spawn chests for 5 minutes apiece. Chests will be of various sizes and will contain either orange or purple loot. Of course if you are hit whilst opening the chest the gauge resets. This should get you in the mood for treasure hunting! And in any case, you can always enter this zone to have some fun PvP fights.
The Arena of Death will be revamped. The main NPC that grants you access to it will be unkillable. At a certain time, an event will take place for a fixed number of hours. Basically the first 24 players from each faction hailing the NPC will be teleported inside the Arena of Death and a big chest will pop in the middle of the Arena...as well as a wave of mobs. Let the PvP and mayhem begin!
With those new PvP systems in game, we also expect it will be easier to achieve the highest PvP rank and hence unlock the ruby point granted by the World Mysteries quests.
You can expect more new dungeons to reach our servers before the end of the year and more activities in the Astral.
Gorluxor’s tower is at the moment the ultimate dungeon to equip all classes and archetypes as they should be with legendary equipment. The missing bosses will be added, up to 8, and fine tuned. Guilds, go get the ph4t l00t and equip your members in legendaries!
The stats for white and green equipments will be slightly increased.
We will be introducing a new set of backpacks in game with more storage space.
Some of this information is vague, even though they are being developed or fined tune, and in due time we will be providing you with more information on these features and their mechanics. We are already discussing with the developer on when we can divulge more information on what is to come and provide you with more detailed information.
As you can see there is a lot coming up for progression in the game and a lot of content being added, as well as key elements being reworked. Moreover, a lot of the new content will be taking place in the Astral, so have your ship prepped and ready to go!
I’d like to thank you all once again for the valuable feedback you are providing daily. The dedication and enthusiasm of our European community makes Allods Online a better game. All we need is a bit of time to implement some of your feedbacks.
Your Allods Online Producer,
Vince

NA is getting the same changes, and really the update wasn#t all that bad, at least for NA. We can get our gpotatoes for incense, charms and so on through surveys easily. And now we have this big giveaway (quest for chests) where we get lots of cool rewards Anyway, I never spent a dime for this game, I got a mount, am incensed 24/7 and got enough holy charms for the next couple weeks. So if you miss the game just try NA If you wanna join me, just come to Lullaby (thelullabyguild.com). But we're League, so if you like Empire we're not for you.

If I ever come back to Allods I will restart on the league side and join Legends. But wont see that coming anytime soon since Astrum Nival made a western game becoming a Asian mmorpg due the grinding.

All I gonna do each day now when the new patch hits is to log in daily, take the 30 minute exp scroll, log out. When I've gotten enough I will sell them in the AH. Since the european economy is completely fucked up I bet I can get atleast 50G each for them. Probably gonna delete my 40 toon and give the 2500G I have to someone who needs it and make a league character and level it up to 20 and let it rest if I ever decide to come back.

Probably gonna delete my 40 toon and give the 2500G I have to someone who needs it and make a league character and level it up to 20 and let it rest if I ever decide to come back. so i guess its not worth playing lol?

If you dont plan on spending some nice cash into it, then no. You can always buy the items off AH but they are outrageously high so you wont afford it when you are level 20. It's kinda like a trial. You can play completely for free until level 20 where the monsters are hella alot harder. But that's not all, if you die, blue gear and upwards have a slightly chance of becoming cursed and the only way to remove the curse is by buying some scrolls from Cash Shop or as it is called "PoP" that protects you against it, that also is a Cash Shop items and not the talk about the grinding since they increase the exp needed to level without adding quests. Then the runes (Kinda like the + system in silkroad) is now required to complete the harder heroics, which of course also in Cash Shop and you have to spend quite some nice cash to get a level 10 rune. Think someone calculated it to around 1000 euro. But level 10 runes is not yet required, level 4-5 is fine. edit: you can get gpotatoes through doing free surveys, however if you planning on playing the NA version you have to live in USA to be able to do them since most of the offers are just available there, heard many complains from Canada etc. EU also got surveys for free gpotatoes but seems like many of them is just scams and dont give you shit but spam in your mailbox. How ever, for me here in sweden they have worked out quite nice and are updated with 3-4 surveys weekly. Just a few of them are scams.

edit: I have a lvl40 summoner semi epic geared and a psi almost fully epic geared You can probably sell it but in the state the game is in now you probably wont get that much, and I suggest not selling it here since it is probably against the rules.. Btw destruction, are you going to forsaken world too with the other BP guys? Or are you waiting for Rift: Planes of Telara?

I'll probably play FW with BP and see how it goes, they had a whole bunch of people participating already, but like I have a thing about Perfect world entertainment, they make really crappy games imo, although they promise FW is gonna be different, So I'll stick around and see how the game goes. But like after GW2 is out I think I'm gonna move there instead. I'm not really interested in Rift, because its a paid subscription, and I don't really like that business model, kinda feels like you have to play your money's worth each month. I havn't decide on a class yet for FW because I know most ppl are gonna play vampire, and I don't wanna be twilightee, but its certainly interesting to see a new class in mmos. And there seems to be no cc class in FW for now.
