ECSRO had a major problem with this and it will just create problems.
Unless you want full sunners who make a billion gold in under a week I would keep it disabled.
It really depends on your perspective how you think of exchangeable silk items.

Hm, as you probably know on almost all foreign SRO versions (KSRO, TSRO, CSRO, RSRO not sure) you can exchange silk items. I don't really know, how they are dealing with CCF on these other versions. Maybe it's just, that nobody even tries to do it. But actually i never heard about something like that on any other SRO version i played. I would appreciate it, if it is possible to exchange silk items, as i can't afford buying silk currently, but i would still like being able to get certain silk items with enough ingame like on KSRO. I wouldn't really mind it, if it's not possible, as i don't care that much about having silk items or not. I didn't need any in my whole SRO career so far.

We understand not everybody can afford silk items but it will remain nonexchangeable.
I think silk prices are around 60% off, ex. 100 silk = 4USD rather than the normal 10USD.
People on those servers are probably more respectful towards those servers, I've known many people in iSRO who would CCF up to 400-900 USD at a time. People won't CCF if they have a high level account because they don't want to grind back to cap with 1x rates and expensive silk.

You could always give somebody the gold and let them log onto your account and have them buy silk for you. Although this is very very risky it is possible to still get silk with gold. I have done that several times on iSRO with a good friend before I got my own card.

As stated before, the people who donate and keep the server running are the people who will be rewarded.

On a good note I'm sure there will be lots of events where you can win silk items, such as pets.

considered the option to make donations in the name of someone else, so that people dont have to log into other peoples accounts.

like lets say i know someone who wants silk, i make the donation, but i indicate that i want the silk to go to the person in need of the silk. and maybe make this available if one has a character "x" level or higher, and only if "N" number of transactions have been made on the gifters account that are in good standing. i dunno. just an idea.

Good idea, the minimum level limit would be set high to discourage people from charging back. This could be possible in the future if silk were to ever be exchangeable through other people. If somebody tried to charge their money back they would be instantly IP perma-banned.
Once again, good idea, if silk were to ever be exchangeable.

well this would be a donation in the name of someone else rather than a transfer of electonic items. safer for all parties involved.

That is true.
I was talking npcdoom about and he had a neutral opinion, if silk is to be transferable in the future this would probably be the method of doing so.
If it is to ever be transferable I will be rolling in gold. 8)

Either this or the punishments for CCFing are quite hard (complete IP-ban of all involved accounts), so nobody even tries to do it. Maybe they are just having other payment methods, so that you can't CCF at all, idk if this is possible.

Anyway as it's your server, it's your business to decide about it and i won't care that much about being able to get silk items or not. I mainly play together with some friends and if you have nice pts running almost every day and if you have a nice teamwork, pt-wise and group-pvp-wise, having silk items or not, won't be that important. Good teamwork can compensate buying silk in a certain way. Of course people, who buy silk and have a nice teamwork will be even better, but i am playing for fun anyway and not be the best. And on ISRO the people, who buy a lot silk, mainly don't have a nice teamwork, as they are just botting usually and you don't learn, how to play in a team, by botting.

@CeLL
If that system is implemented you shall.

@Kronos
That is true, botters usually stay solo and don't know how to play their character or party.

Botters will not exist in eSRO though, if any come through they will be IP banned and security will be patched to make sure the bot is useless.
The great thing about people who post bots usually do it in the open, such as a forum which would allow the team to download it then figure out how to get rid of it quickly.

I haven't been in-game for about 2 years. Whatever happened to that silk gift thing in the item mall?

imo you guys should put in the gift button again, but only allow you to give maybe like 3 items max to a single account (any char on a person's account) per week or something like that.

That gifting silk idea is cool too.

Actually I think 1x rates with maybe 4 or 5x sp is fine... as long as they use the exp lvl up requirerments that ksro uses, not the jacked up to infinity rates for isro

it is what ksro is now, but with 60 cap. it will not be all old and janky like ecsro. there will be stalls and wolf in the damn stables. its nothing like ecsro. ecsro is ancient CSRO files.

I am having my hopes high into this. But I am just afraid that once the project is well established, eSRO would get sued by Joymax once they realize a fall in the income and that would destroy everything... :x

Well I don't see anything they can sue for.
We won't be selling silk directly, we won't be advertising, we're using their public files which are given to everybody, and eSRO will be established in another country, which makes it a bit harder to sue on top of that.

I mean look at the other private servers, they're still running without any problems and they're using stolen files from JM.
As you can see SWSRO2 is P2P, if I'm not mistaken, they will be first in line to be shut down if at all.
I don't believe eSRO will be a big threat to JM, after all the company makes millions every year.
eSRO won't draw in many iSRO players since most of them have already spend thousands of dollars and have botted and capped, eSRO rates will be low which will discourage thousands of people from playing on the server which will make the server an even lesser threat to JM.

If I would have to guess I would say the EXP rates will be near 5-10x but no higher.
SP rates will be near double, if not double the EXP rates, therefore no farming.
Those who played ECSRO and capped know it's easy to level with 10x, if rates are 5x you could buy a gold ticket for dirt cheap and have 10x exp and near 20x SP rates for 3 hours in theory.
If you want high rates stay with SWSRO and the other private servers.

eSRO won't be a server where you have 90-120 noobs, we strive to have better players as the newbies will be discouraged by the low rates, such as the Turkish community, no offense towards anybody.

As I mentioned before cap will start at 60, if you can't make it to 60 with 5~10x rates while being FF the whole way then you should not be playing SRO.
Also, caps will go up by 10 at a time just like the other Silkroad versions, going up 9 levels (considering you're capped @ 99.99%) at a time every few months is a breeze.

I'm a really lazy grinder and I made it to 90 with 2 characters with 10x rates without trying on ECSRO with 10x EXP/SP.

If you don't like the rates then don't play.

i was told that on private servers the tickets dont double the full exp/sp only the base exp sp. so you guys will make sure the tickets completely double the exp sp intake?

I just talked to npcdoom about it, he said GT / Premium will double the EXP and SP rates.
It won't be like ECSRO where a Premium took your rates from 10x->11x, instead it would be 20x.
Keep in mind this is an emulator, not a fail server made from stolen files.

I highly doubt the server will lag, the specs of the server are very good and the bandwidth will be sufficient.
The server will be located in Europe, I can't remember the exact location though. :palm:

Closed beta is to test for lag and bugs, if the server cannot handle the OB players it will be looked into and fixed before launching the finished server.
