You could toggle crouch in halo 3 too o.O
And meh I guess I'll get used to the old one then. You're right about the jumping, they jump shitty heights ugh. Anyone played swat yet? people never choose for that one )=
swat isn't bad, i like it more than i liked it in h3 at least. although on both maps playing passively in swat seems to be the best way to go, don't know if that's a good thing for the gametype
So is the game pretty good? I am going to see if I can get one of my friends to let me borrow his copy of ODST so I can try it. From what I have hard they added somethings to the game that I am happy about. From the videos I have seen it looks pretty solid. Now time will tell

Yes. It's good and it looks like it's only going to get better. Especially when MLG gets a hold of it.

By the way, can anyone give me an update on the new features such as the rolling, and the taking cover move? I think I understand it, but not everyone can do that right? You need to have a certain class set-up to run, or do those other moves?
The game looks to have made some improvements that I have wanted for awhile now, so I am pretty excited about this game. Hopefully I can get a copy of ODST soon so I can give it a go.

With the regular game types you got 4 different 'classes'. Each has their own ability. You can choose between sprint/powerlock/invisibility and a jetpack. With sprint you can run fast for a period of time, powerlock will put you into a full armor mode where you're immune to any sort of damage but you can't move, invisbility is obvious but side effect is that it will scramble your and your enemies radar so they know you're around. With the jetpack you can fly for a certain amount of time.
There is no cover move and the roll you speak of is only for the covenant during covy slayer atm. It's a dash in the direction you put your left stick in. I just call it the barrel roll.
I'm so psyched for this game, I can't wait for them to add invasion and the other game modes

So will it be similar to Halo 3 ? Like, running up to people, shooting then hitting meele before they do lols.
I melee alot but it's not as needed in this game...I haven't found myself close to people most of the time. Cuz of the weps you circle more around eachother instead of running into eachother.

doesn't work near as often because of the halo:reach melee system. if you melee someone with shields, no matter if they have 99% shields or 1% shields, the melee will deplete their shields entirely. if they have no shields, it kills.
thus.. a lot less neutral melees in this game because the system encourages a gunfight instead. i think the AR being pretty bad (<3) also helps.

Oh the AR is god awful and I absolutely love that. You do melee pretty quickly though, so I tend to double melee in close situations. It seems like the more viable option.

wait.... how is no neutral melees good D:?!

neutral melees are fine, i actually like the idea for xbox live at least. makes it slightly more fair imo. but as far as the halo 3 neutral melees and how often they occurred.. just it was TOO easy to see someone late and still get a neutral, especially with lunges.
with how reach's system works however, this is how it usually goes between two decent players from close-ish range: Player A sees Player B Player A starts shooting Player B Player B turns and returns fire while trying to get close enough to melee incase he's able to drop Player A's shields at around the same time or to at least try to get Player A no shields for a teammate to clean up. Player A realizes this and backs up while shooting Player B.
in reach, most of the time Player A will win that. as it should be. in halo 3, about half the time it would have been a neutral, even if Player A got Player B to half shields before Player B could even get a shot off.
if you're both melee fanatics you can just run at each other while gunning and if none of your shields are dropped by the time you're in range, you'll both most likely double melee and get the neutral.
Aaahhh, so I see they have made some big, and small changes to the game, but it's still like the other Halos ? But yeah, in Halo 3 I always just to chase people around with either a shotty or assault rifle and shoot em so they have close to or no shields, then just hit b to meelee. I love the change they did so now you can assassinate xP

Halo Reach is like a cross between Halo 1 and Halo 2, which were the best games of the series.
There's already an extremely prevalent skill gap in Reach, which is what Halo 1 and 2 had. The assassinations....I love doing the animation as an embarrassing moment thing. Like...
"oh hai rockets guy, I'm going to assassinate you now. Oh, now you get to watch yourself die."
I loves it.

Yea, I love those moments where you get the chance to assassinate a guy.
Anyone play some invasion? imo it's awesome. Though, I hate it when people all go for invasion slayer instead of regular invasion. Out of 5 invasion games I played 4 invasion slayer games >.>
i played a game of regular invasion, wasn't really in the mood to play at all so can't really judge but it seemed a bit slower paced than i expected it to be.

I find it weird how you're put in a team of 2...But I guess that's to prevent mass spawning or something. It's alright although I got no idea where the power weapons are and shit xD Gotta love how I got betrayed twice by my 'squadmate' and when I get some revenge he can instaboot me ._.
both invasion types seem to put elites at a huge advantage to me; of all the matches ive been into of both types i think the spartans won a total of 5/20+. elites simply get better loadouts at all phases. i suppose that would make it so that the games last longer than just the first phase for regular invasion, but when u put those into invasion slayer the spartan loadouts are extremley nerfed compared to elites. the only way i saw a spartan team win in invasion slayer so far was by letting the elites get the territories and then sneaking in and jacking the vehicles from the elites right after they get in. also i noticed a glitch when i was a spartan on both invasion types. when i was teh 2nd member of a fireteam and would die i was unable to respawn in the default spawn area, so if my teammate was in combat i would have to w8 until it was over. in several cases i was left w8ing for a minute or longer for him/her to get out of combat or eventually die and respawn so i could respawn next to him/her.
fortunatley for me i seem to b an elite at least 90% of the time.

hmm you must not have had good teams. I played as spartans for 3 matches in a row and won pretty easily. You just need some teamwork.
