Old timer here, I'm surprised I even remember my account information actually. I had my old SRF account banned apparently? -shrugs- Anyway, I'll get on with it. Much like the title says, what's happening with SRO now days? It's been years since I've played it but I like to keep up with it's progress from time to time. I played back in the 60 cap, just after the live release and played right up until the 100 cap. Where are we now days? 110? 120? Did we ever get that Islam update we were all hyping up about? What about the state of SRF? Are any of the old timers still lurking around here? PROMTHETHESE?(sp?) Fudge? Silo? Have we seen a better SRF over the years or is it still the cesspool of destruction we all grew up with? I'm thinking of making a bit of a return to be honest, even if it's just a bit of a muck around while waiting for a new MMO to catch my eye. I never got into WoW, Aion wasn't that great and I'm still awaiting FFXIV. Is SRO worthy of our time and returned back to the old ways, or have these silly cash items and magic pop rewards taken over to the point where they are nearly mandatory? What about the state of the almighty flame word: Venus. I heard they went to Aion as well, does the old confederation still stand? If not, did anyone create anything similar on a different server? I spent my later SRO days on Venus and had quite a lot of fun actually, if I was return it would have to be on something similar. Is server traffic still as bad? I always had a premium but just a question of simple curiosity I guess. What about the botting situation, is it still as bad? I remember joymax had a bit of success with their banning's back in the day, did they ever keep that up or have they simply let it keep occurring? I guess that will do. A big g'day to anyone who remembers me, if not a bit of current day info would be more than appreciated

Less actual players, more traffic, not worth the return tbh.

110 cap, just came out ~1 month ago No islam update Dunno about oldies on SRF Joymax is still trying to suck money out of ppl (duh?) Don't play on venus. Yes server traffic is still bad Ppl still bot, banning has seemed to stop since 110 update, they've so far done 2 big bans with 20k+ botters (But that lasted what, a week maybe?) Oh hey there. = )
Avalon went to Aion. I tried it out, found it to be boring, came back to Venus. The confederation is still there, just under new leadership. Quite a few old timers are returning as well though. There is one union with 6/8 guilds in it. Granted, only half of those guilds actually have more then 5 active members. There is also two other guilds who left the union sometime over the past few days, I can't really say why as I'm not entirely sure. But their still legit AFAIK and, hopefully, will come back soon. At this time we're rebuilding and still growing, always looking for more legits to play with. The botters have gotten cocky in our absence. Time to put them back in their place once again.

He is saying that he played till 100 cap. Am I the only one who believes that silkroad is in a better condition since the 110 cap?
I am not talking about better than 60cap but rather better than the 100 cap.

i wanted to start playing again, and its more horrible than before, at least before i could have took my chances to log into my staller before i go sleep in 10 tries or so, now i have to wait in the endless time line, been trying to log in for 2 days, only managed to log into 2 of my stallers, cant remember ids or pw for my other charachters, and just after inspection, and servers already crowded, bots more horrible than before, i spent much money on buying silk for this game, but i dont feel like am willing to do that again, so play without silk =???????? good luck, i would just keep reading updates like i've always done, regearding the other thread " joymax got potential " no joymax is hopless case, but the game itself got potential. dota tiem.

Apart from a single unique feature that got us all hooked that no one actually uses in the game SRO is complete utter fail. One of the worst run/managed MMO of all time.

Sorry for the long reply time to my thread, I completely forgot about this thread. It seems like everyone is still disliking SRO as much as ever, a bit of a shame really. It always always a fun game to play, it was just run so horribly >_< I'm currently in the process of downloading the latest Ubuntu and Silkroad. I should be up and running in the next few days to give it a try. I might see if I can log in after an inspection and just check it out once again. spoonyG wrote: you have no location in your nae. how should we even know? Location is Twilliger's Den. TedTwilliger was my old account, made in 2006 with 3500 or so posts. I use to be quite active on SRF back in the day and anyone who remembers that account can easily make the connection. As far as Wow is concerned ping_lo, I just didn't like the general "feel" for the game. It's hard for me to describe and I can only provide a similar example with never winter nights. It was a nice game with a half decent story, but general movement, attack and normal game functions just didn't feel right. Something about it made it seem very interactivity and I could never quite get into it. This is what I feel when I play WoW. Aion didn't have that problem for me, it had a great world which really drew me into it. My problem with it though is that it was incredibly repetitive for a P2P MMO. It's like they barely put any effort in at all with the quests and story line.
