I'm following this Tutorial and at Step 6 it suggest you to make a Clipping Mask. I really want to do it because I love the "skin ripping off" effect. Sadly even though he explains how(and I googled around) and can't manage to make one.

I put a White Splatter brush on a New Layer,erase some part.Go Layer -> Create Clipping Mask and then my Splatter just dissapears I'v checked my Blending Options and its @ Normal 100%.

Make a new layer(layer 1), and press ctrl+shift+alt+e. This fills the layer up with an image of how your sig looks now.
Then create a layer under this layer(layer 2) with the splatter brush, and do whatever you want to.

Then select layer 1, and make it a clipping mask. Press ctrl+t and start moving it around until you're satisfied with the result.
When you're done, press enter.

Too lazy to make screenies right now, so you'll have to make do with a text-based explanation.

Easier way to make a clipping mask is to press alt, and click between the two layers(making sure the applied image is on top of the layer you want to clip).
If you're doing it right, it'll show a little bucket-like thing, and make a clipping mask for you.

Wow,this is way easier than always making 2 Layers

Knowing a Scala of short-cuts really makes creating sigs and LP's a lot more enjoyable.

Ok for some reason I can't do Clipping Mask anymore.

My Layers ;



1. Original Picture
2. Blank Layer with White Brush on it.
3. Apply Image of Original Picture



It shows their a Clipping Mask(the little bucket between the layers) but theres no effects.

Rotate the layer? Move it around?
You probably applied the image with the clipping mask layer;(i.e. the splatter or whatever you were trying to show) still visible, so it will copy the splatter to the new layer as well, and it won't show until you move the clipping layer around.

Just move layer 1 around =p

Yeah, hide the layer before you apply the image.

i think its easier to know where everything is in the toolbar before you learn the shortcuts to them.
