Post porn on the forum of SRO, find GM in game and insult him, do everything the GM does not want you to do and bam! You should be banned. That would be for a few days though.. repeat process until perma ban! Or just delete your characters, but if you keep coming back to start over.. I can't say much then.

Personally, I don't think there's really a need to 'quit'. Then again, I've never considered myself addicted to SRO. I take a leisurely attitude toward SRO. I don't have any goals in the game. I never try to be the best, or race to cap, or anything.

I have no problem playing for an hour or so every few days or weeks, or taking a break for a year or so, only to come back for a few days to stall some stuff and leave again.

I used to play Super Mario Bros 3 as a kid and loved it. I never really quit, but haven't played it in YEARS. I know it's still available and I can play whenever I want.

If it's really that bad of an addiction, uninstall, delete the installer, block joymax.com and silkroadonline.net and any other domain on your router AND in your hosts file. Then you can't download the installer even if you want to.

Figure out how to write an antivirus definition that would detect SRO as a virus and delete it just in case it somehow gets onto your system. :)

the most effective way for me, was to block everything with my host file and not having windows installed

1. block all related websites with your host file ( google )
2. delete all your characters
3. install Arch Linux :dope:

Nuuu, I got addicted to SRO the first 6 months I played it, that was back at the good time where GMs were active and almost no bots. But when the server got crowded it kinda faded away. It is easy getting addicted to good things.

We were talking about WoW not sro xP And if you get easily addicted to good things you better stay away from it all and lock yourself in a closet.

Hate to burst your bubble, but SRO runs fine in Linux. In fact, it runs even better in Linux than it does in XP, at least in my experience.

So get downloading the client!!

/etc/hosts perhaps?
