But yea getting to 110 will be a hard job but not impossible.. I was going to university and managed to hit 100 by going to b5 uniques once every day and it was really good xp.. and with all these new uniques in both the temple and tomb I don't think it should be possible for non-botters to get near 110

Well I guess it won't be as hard to hit 110 for the people who can get to those uniques. I can barely play in the Donwhang caves since I'm a 54 blader with highly underfarmed fire/light skills. I certainly can't get into any of these new caves or dungeons. Not that I'm complaining. I don't exactly play the game, but am still interested in it.

Exactly. I am a free player (well was when I played). So I'm certainly not entitled to complain about silk buyers getting more benefits.

I'll just put this wall here...

I still have a place for this game, it was one of the first games I ever played. It is just our generation -- most of us are at an age around 15-20. It's a typical situation for people to miss what we had first. Many will see the resemblance in life, and for example it's just like in WoW, where people still fight and make constructive topics to get game servers up that are pre-expansions. No I don't see a resemblance between the 2 games, but the situation is for so much the same. People miss it. They miss the atmosphere, the joy in finding things in the game, and talking about these things with your guild....

Finding that lost shoe of the emperor's child and seeing at least one person ask about this quest at all times in jangan central. Having Old Weasels kick your ass with that annoying sound. Standing there being a retard, dying to the Water Ghost's poison. Grinding a stunning 500,000 gold together with your friends to start a guild. Talking about it on school. Playing a tune as you farmed away in bandit stronghold where the sos+5 D3 bow always dominated the sos+3. Being in such an immense grinding session that your XP bar filled by the minute, tapping 1 through 5 with ultimate control as you bounce your head to the beat of your tunes. Having the gold together for a trade flag as soon as you reach lvl 20, getting popped by thiefs running around in D7 blade/shield, lying dead on the floor seeing the boys from dEranged shoopdawhoop your camel and nick your 15k worth in trade items whilst raging over whisper to your friend ingame. Looking for Tiger Girl on the actual "Tiger Mountain" . Watching this video over and over, being stunned by the amount of excitement and friendship this game offers.... the list can go on and on and on, I could type for Farking 5 hours no lie.

I won't talk about the negative things as detailed, but just look at the 4th comment down on the video, by user "SilkroadPrivate". The guy hasn't been playing very long at all, yet he WANTS everyone to think he played since the start (which is almost 4.5 years ago, not 6...). He misses the pre-crap SRO even though he obviously never played it!

The way I feel about this game - and yes, it's a feeling - is still strong, this is the way many people feel/felt/still feel about Silkroad Online. The atmosphere is just so Farking great it beats a crapload of other games in the industry. This game attracts me. Not just the atmosphere, but also the sounds, the graphics, the guild system, the actual grinding.. Just such a Farking relaxed game. Silkroad Online is just an amazing game, in many many ways. It is a huge shame the game blew it's full potential when JoyMax failed to realize that their income could be just as great if they fought the progress in programming bots, from the beginning, and from a point where it didn't grown into ~60% of their income. I study Software Engineering and I kid you not, there are a many efficient ways to rid SRO of the vile programs.

Just like a few other regular posters that I admire for this "fight for the legits" (see my sig, made by Draquish a long time ago. Still love it), like ping_lo, PR0METHEUS, and VForVendetta etc, I feel the need to fight this cause...

The fact that a Software Engineering student could rid SRO of the vile mess it has bred, is however not that which people should be pissed off about, as obviously JoyMax knows this.
I'm just disgusted with the company, in a way that I could honestly spit on the CEO's face without feeling disrespectful or any regret what-so-ever. I am disgusted with them because they ruined this game that I loved so much inside-out. It's their fault, they screwed up this game which had, and STILL HAS, immense potential in the MMO world. They let the game come to a point of no return.

The real reason for this post however, is because something caught my interest.

It is quite obvious that JoyMax is splitting the legits/bots up with the next content expansion, being a cave where bots couldn't easily enter for the first weeks as the programmers find a way to enter, and an open area where they will obviously be going. I thought of this immediately after just looking at the map of the new areas posted on page 1... It makes sense that after the latest hype going on, JoyMax is 'splitting' them up so that the legits can still party grind and the reputation of this "non-bot" area will find its way towards the ex-players and also new players. I can personally see no real reason for this split-game other than JoyMax taking her first step to do a 180 and fix this game. It can be done. The latest "JoyMax fixing their mess?", "JM recruits a dozen GMs", "GMs active in-game", "WTF I GOT BANNED BUT HONESTLY I DONT BOT/NEVER BOTTED?"-topics back this up even further.

I grinded a lvl 74, 72, 68, 60, and tons of others. I was a master in reselling, a hardcore grinder, and a genuine lover of the game.

I will make the return.

Thoughts?

You and I share the same perception its kinda crazy. I've been playing since summer of 06. I feel both the love for the game and hate for joymax right down to wanting to spit in the CEO's face as well. You've been walking the path I have and experienced the things I have. I truly wish this game would return back to how it was when there was really an in game community. Remembering the early days of SRO when I used to join an 8 man party at tiger mountain me and 7 other little noobs (lvls 9-12) working together is truly golden. Everywhere you looked you saw a party with real live players..the best times of SRO

Interesting wall of text.

I couldn't agree with you more Twysta. I haven't actually played this game in at least a year and a half, and even when I did, I was extremely inactive. I gave up long ago with all the server traffic and everything. However, lately I have been logging on, even if it is just to stall and stare at this beloved game. I hope to sometime have the time to get back into this game.

I couldn't help but think the same thing myself about the "splitting" of the bots/legits. It's interesting that they would make areas like this. One that the bots can easily grind, and one where they can't. It may make it even easier to identify them. Not that it's a difficult task to begin with.

Gives me more reason to brush the dust off my lvl 54 blader and make a somewhat futile attempt at leveling it up so I can get into some of these new caves and temples. :-D

1) The times when the dungeon actually opens...
Open 24/7, so I don't think you know what you are talking about here

2) Botters reach 100, now they have to grind by hand... I sense a drop in players...
If you are so worried about the bots, dont worry, THEY CAN BOT OUTSIDE THE TEMPLE
And BTW, do you see bots quitting because they can't bot at Medusa? No

3) Anyone under 95, or was it 90, can't even get to the new city for screenshot and running around sake...
Thats a good thing... there will be no goldspammers. Lower levels can look at videos and pics of the new city online. Nothing they need to level up is in this city anyway

4) Wearing Job suit to gain access to TEMPLE = fail. Everyone will just end up as 1 job. Jobbing will die as a result.
Look at the jobbing now... how can it DIE? Forcing ppl to wear their job suits will bring life back to jobbing as well as allow you to kill bots who are wearing the opposite job suit

I'll add more as I think of them.

agreed...and anyways you can't go to DW caves unless you are 50 and JG caves unless you are 70 (?) anyways, so whats the point of complaining about the level limit thing.

And i can understand people complaining about all the bots in the game and all, but complaining about players NOT being able to bot? :palm:

the job suit thing actually seems pretty tight as it might bring back some jobwars, and there might even be a point to jobbing if you need to do it to get to your grind spots.

the update actually seems pretty positive ;)

i didn't know i wasn't the only one who watched that video countless times...

i still watch it...

when i played ksro and euro was a dream for me, when i wanted it to be put in isro's version.. i'd stay in constantinople and listen to the music.. the music touched me so deep, i'd almost cry. I remember crying once.

And Janguan's music thrills me so much as well, so many memories.

It's incredible, as much as i love life, as much as i love singing, playing sports, sometimes i see myself thinking "Wouldn't i just love to stay at home, listen to music, and play silkroad with an active guild with an active vent all over again.."

Meh..

Don't bother. You're too good for the game. You can never experience those memories again. Your best bet is to play another game.
