God damn you Joymax this game is awesome.
I haven't played the game since 2006-7'ish and I still want to play the game -.-.
I even played one of the private servers but it wasn't the same.
I just loved the original game because it was a challenge, but 5 million SP for 105 lvl cap? No thank you.

Past few years I've watched so many videos on Youtube of SRO and I've quit every single online game to return to SRO to just get disappointed =(.
I even quit Jade Dynasty and Aion for this crap -.-.
Wth does this game have that makes it so god damn addicintg?
Is it the thief/hunter/trade system?
Is it the build system that makes the different types of builds infinite?
Or am I just a Masochist bit** that loves getting owned by Joymaxs poor management skill?
:banghead: I don't want to play the game again cause I know I'll get disappointed again. But I already downloaded the installer.
:banghead: :banghead:

This really is what a lot of the Silkroad Online players think.
I have the same problem to be honest.
I'm updating the game and I'm waiting for the server capacity to go down.
I've never tried to login more than once, just because I hate it to be in the waiting line.
Come on GM's, make this game fabulous for the majority of the gamers!

Its not that.
Its that Joymax has such an awesome game that is obviously addicting because of its Unique skills and job systems.
But yet they choose to let it get over run by bots when they could be making so much more money with an all human server...

They make so much more cash on the bots than the humans.

Skills and animation are quite smooth compare to other games.

i think overall the skill animations are very nice...and the conflict triangle (the trade run things) keep the game an interesting challenge, like there's actually some use for training so hard, unlike other games there's not much use after reaching the cap level.

I still come back every so often.

Play for around a month, then leave again for a few months. :D

But ya, i know how you feel. Tried all these p2p mmorpg's and none of them feel right to me.

I have the same issue as the thread starter. I understand where he/she's coming from. But the moment I return and start to grind my old char all that addicting feeling of wanting to come back just died instantly...So I just end up standing around in Samarack watching people cape fight or cape fighting myself. I just lose the interest in it....Then I leave...then a few months later the cycle continues

I think its the fact that this game caters to mans sinister urges.. I mean seriously alchemy and magic pop is just plain old gambling then you have the perverted female character designs. That and the fact you can never become the best.. someone can always kill you. These are the reasons that why I keep playing.

What..... :banghead:

If that's preverted... my god men, have you never looked at other MMO's that aren't cartoon-based (WOW)?

I played this game before the magic pop was added to the game so your statement doesn't really apply. Lol at the female animation thing, if you find that sexy that is sad. Who the hell plays a game because the characters are sexy? Pretty sad if someone does if you ask me:

i think its because the game gives you so many choices and the way you interact with other players

lol..have to agree. I can understand that there is some level of appeal to it but to have that as one of the reasons to play is kinda nerdy....and sad

For me SRO's graphics and types of skills and its the first game for me where grieving is rewarded (tri-conflict)...not that I love grieving others but its quite fun. I tried 21 other free to play MMOs just to leave SRO behind and it didn't work.

90% of people I meet in SRO that say they quit, never actually quit. They get fed up about the way Joymax is managing the game and quit for 1-3 months.

They realize how bored they are without the game (lack of creativity) and PM me on MSN saying. "Brooooo :D I'm coming back!". Happens frequently. Then they proceed to play SRO again.

The build combinations make us wanna try out every1 only to think the others are better when ppl show it to us in pvp and when we got there only to realise that its not that godly and then we switch again and again and again and again.

The exact same thing above make us realise that sp farming at end game is bs and thus we hav to start over to farm another 3m only to close the gap at 1m and then regretting at 100 thus starting over after we cap n this cycle would too repeat itself over and over and over and over and over again.

The magic pop that cost me more than 10k silks, over and over and over and over i tell myself that i would not let this bs fool me again. BUT over and over and over i see ppl win within 100silks which make me return to try over and over and over only to realise that i am here to lose over n over.

The Alchemy system... its been known long enough that a +5 weapon has only that much damage compared to a +7, a +7 only had that lil much damage difference compared to a 8 and same for an 8 to a 9. BUT! over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over u tried to go higher... Only to realise that u just done the stupidest thing that cost u so much gold and u need to start over again.

I played since the beggining of the christmas event back in 06 or 07 when they still had gold dragon flags. I've quit countless times, hell i just recently came back to sro quiting wow, leaving behind 3 level 80 charaters and months of work, but i just WANT to play sro for some reason.

I've gone as far as to rename my silkroad launcher 'Heroin'.

Dont ever touch a NCSoft game, they are only (Slightly) and I mean slightly, better than Joymax and Aion is a total floptastic fail of a game.

NCSoft would be great if they focused on just one game, instead of making multiple semi-great games. But then again, I suppose more games bring in more cash.

So with those conditions, i believe im never comming back.

And my times at jade dynasty have being great too. Helps to not miss sro much...
