Well having just downloaded and played the new Left 4 Dead 2 Demo from steam.
I can say that this game is amazing.

The demo includes the first two stages of the "Parish" campaign and show
case all of the three new infected types as well as some more interesting
surprises (zombies in full police bullet proof riot gear)

You can pick any of the four survivors and start off at a dock after a
boat as dropped you off (leads on from another campaign)you then make
your way past some buildings and a diner before the end of that level, in
the second level you have to make your way past a park, military check
point and in on part you set off an alarm and have to turn it off...sounds
east but its not when the off button is up a tower in the middle of
an zombie infected courtyard.

So just wondering what others who have played it think about it?

Looks the same as L4D 1. I see no differences that say this is a "NEW" game to buy. Like every complaint before, it looks like DLC content. This isn't even an expansion, possibly a patch.

And after playing Killing Floor, the zombies in L4D are lame. Punching? Climbing walls when you are not on the wall, are they extra stupid zombies? How hard is it for a zombie, see human, chase human. Not chase wall...

Anyways, I think I'll pass on L4D 2 considering I found L4D 1 fairly lack luster. For $15, simple gameplay, Killing Floor is way more fun than it should be.

Also one superior part of Killing Floor vs L4D. L4D a member falls, you can pick him up to recover (reviving). You get mobbed in Killing Floor, just say bye bye. It's done. No second chance. You leave your members, you go solo, say bye bye. There is much less forgiveness in comparison to L4D.

Guns in L4D have almost no recoil, so it's easier to aim and shoot also. Lame. Iron sight in Killing Floor gives the game a much more satisfying gunplay experience. This makes spray shooting which is effective in L4D useless in Killing Floor.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6bYmzC88DY

How did that dude around 1 minute survive that? Around 3:30 you see a dude on the ground getting raped. He survives for like 30 seconds. Then he is healed and ready to go. Lame. Even in easy mode in Killing Floor that's complete rape and die. Also having a variety of classes and requiring a balanced group gives Killing Floor another aspect above L4D. Having everyone run around with shot guns in Killing Floor is guaranteed squad wipe.

L4D 2 gives you a frying pan... Killing Floor gives you a Katana. Hmmm... which is more awesome?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxRRZvuc ... re=related

The other aspect to Killing Floor that ensures all members are playing well is the money to buy new weapons. Making upgrades to weapons not just find on ground but based on your performance the previous round. I like that. As if you don't get a better gun as you progress through the rounds you just become a meat wad.

I'll wait for the bargain bin on Steam when it's 75% off or something. Maybe not even that considering I haven't played L4D 1 since I stopped playing 2 weeks after buying it a year ago from boredom.

Am sorry but please stop chatting rubbish, because its clear that you HAVENT PLAYED
the demo

For one, some of the machine guns in L4D2 infact DO have recoil and to say its not
even anything more then a patch? 0_o You do know that its BIGGER then the first
game dont you? Has more game play options and all around has more more content and
options.

Also yes L4D2 does have a frying pan as a weapon, but it also has an axe, chainsaw,
machete and numerous other weapons.

Main thing you have to keep in mind is that L4D 1 and 2 are very tongue-in-cheek
games. And with a new "realism" game play am sure it will suit those people who
want a more traditional zombie experience. At the end of the day its meant to be
a fun pick up and play game. So please dont post again unless you know ALL the facts
and not what some random youtube video shows okay.

They do have a katana in L4D2 along with a guitar, crowbar, nightstick, and a few others that hasn't been mentioned in this thread.

I'll agree that there is a small recoil because smart players don't spray. You spray and the recoil is horrible. The game still could've been a DLC for $30 at the most, but well.. EA probably had an influence in releasing it as another game with $60 price tag. More money for EA to produce from the 360. If not Valve was just greedy and/or both. Not to brag or anything, but I paid $30 =]. Gotta love 4 copies for the price of 3 with a 10% off tag.

As for Killing Floor being better.. just wow. I honestly think that Killing Floor still feels like a mod. They could've really really done much better as an improvement for being released with a price tag. I played Killing Floor for about 20hours tops just because I didn't really like it.

truely fun, soo many minor details added that make the gameplay so much more enjoyable, new specials work well, characters have their own unique personalities, i could go on

for you who dont want to buy it or are calling it dlc worthy think again the amount i seen couldnt be done as dlc well could but would be nearly the same size as the game its self and with upgrades they made would cause instablities im sure of that, but your not gona buy it so dont matter

It is, now you can shot off arms, legs and heads, but also fingers, and
jaws, ears, half a head (vertically or horizontally) and you can shot holes
through the infected, a proper hole (as in you can see through them) or
you just blow down to their guts and rip cage and some times when you
shot their hands you leave a bit of the bone left on :P

see in these screenshots at the new damage effects

I played the demo the moment it came out and had an e-orgasm... amazing game way more polished and they really did improve it ten fold compared to l4d.. the details as noted above are amazing shotgun to the chest is so much fun now.. the new weapons , bile bomb , defibrillator .. its all amazing. The game special infected are also way better though I didn't like the female boomer she is ugly ha ha.. but yea can honestly say this game deserves its 44$ or 50$ after the pre-order ends... its not a dlc its a completely new amazing game.. if you have played l4d as much as I have you can safely see that both of them are not the same game.. l4d2 is a completely new amazing experience

Forgot to add that the new A.I director 2.0 kicks ass now if you play the same campaign multiple times paths and doorways are not always the same.. sometimes doors that you went through before will be boarded down :)

It still could've been a DLC for $30. I think the demo is an amazing taste of the actual game, but I still believe it should've been a DLC for $30 or so. As more as the gore increased, the director, the weapons, etc etc.. still should've been a DLC.

you realise the quanity of improvements would be insane for dlc, hell adding the mutilation feature would have involved taking out the old system not upgrading it, models etc needed to be replaced. ai director 2 maybe could be dlc, but some things would be way to hard to just call dlc

I just played my first L4D2 game online with 4 others.

Was going okay until a vote went through for experience mode...lol and after about
2 seconds we had another vote for back to hard :P we were getting owned hard.

Long story short we got to the safe house just as one of us had to leave and someone
shot the car and we got owned.

It's supposedly public now....my steam crapped out when decrypting the files....then gave a "100% Ready" bs story ...restarting didn't help, cuz it said it was done, so am redownloading it now >.<''

i downloaded it, and right off the bat i noticed that the graphics aren't as sharp as original l4d, most likely because the game takes place during the day and that is what i figure is making me notice this, but either then that i love all the new weapons, not much variety, i can't see smacking a zombie with the same guitar for every level in every game to be as enjoyable over time, should have more stuff to whack zombies with imo. also those swat zombies kinda break the flow of a good zombie horde.

True, but its only a demo and we only have a few of the other all weapons in the game.

Also as for graphics, i got a warning first time i tryed to run it...saying my
drviers were out of date (they were not), and the game works and looks fine.
I just think because its a demo its not going to have the same polish as the
final game.
