l4d2 pre-order is out.. anyone planning on buying it what are your thoughts on how the game is going to be since l4d was set in a pretty much dark environment and l4d2 is in daylight will the sequel win the hearts of die hard l4d fans?
The game isn't entirely played on daylight, there was already a thread about L4D, people aren't happy that they made another game but pretty much everyone who enjoyed L4D will buy this one.
worst game ever made IMO, i never understood the deal about that game, out of nowhere appeared some zombie people and shit,,, i played first one for like 1o minutes, and removed from my harddisk a.s.a.p. lol

Some people enjoy playing through the zombie apocalypse. You obviously do not =p
OT: Not gonna' pre-order it since I already have L4D. It's fun to play from time to time and it's a really great game when you play it for the first week or two but it quickly gets too repetitive and boring after that.
tbh i'd rather get borderlands with my $45, L4D2 is pretty much the same as the original L4D with minimum improvement. and it doesn't have iron sight afaik

yeah, i liked the style and stuff, but when the zombie start attack, i kinda get disappointed, maybe not my style

Sounds like that you downloaded the game and was not able to play it online. There is no actual 'story' to L4D which makes campaign really retarded.
As for me.. I'm not buying. Fck Valve.. they could've continued with L4D1 and updated it constantly even with small DLC. <-- that I would, but they releasing a sequel a year later? Fail imo. That does include every sport game(Buying a new one every year? You're retarded or you're okay giving $60 to a company that hardly updates that game), NFS game(Which is turning to shit), and any other game that makes a new one almost every year.

Definitely not. The first game was very short with limited content and low replay value. This sequel looks to be the same thing with different skins. Total waste of my money. I'd rather buy silk than buy this game.
I'll be interested to see how many of the people who are claiming to boycott the game, actually do. I personally got bored of the game after a week or so, so won't be purchasing it. TF2 is still more entertaining for me, and hilarious.
I haven't bought a Madden game since 2001. I was pissed that I even spent money on that.
CAD is terrible these days anyway.
People forget that we used to get expansions with new campaigns, new weapons, new enemies, and new mechanics (CoD: UO, anyone?) and they were fine because the developer didn't effectively tell us to "shove it" by making it an entirely new game.

yawn bitch bitch bitch its better then half the shit on the shelfs, theres enough upgrades in it in my eyes to justify a new game rather then **** load of dlc
l4d support will continue with possibly new campaigns and such so..
stfu quit complaining either buy it or dont, cad comes and goes their sillys are usually more funny these days

lol I already made it clear I won't be getting it. It just sounded like some people still needed reasons as to why.
There are plenty of other games coming this fall that would be worth my $50.
This.
Just that not this year any game(Other than Aion) has caught my interest, but Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo, MAG, and a few others early next year.
As for new sport games every year.. I've always thought that it was stupid that they release it every year and people who do buy it every year are the reason why companies do that. Easy targets of money. EA is a perfect example and probably why there is a L4D2. EA games does it to almost everything they get their hands on. No surprise honestly.

CoD is becoming the same way. 4 will probably be the last one I buy.
Sure it's a good game, but if you played any CoD MP at all, you would know it's really just the same thing with a new paint job. I was convinced this was the case after playing World at War.

what you guys are missing is this game only managed to come out in a year is because the ball started rolling before l4d was finish for these updates it oblivously got to the point where there was enought o justify a new game
and serious cod: waw wasnt done by infinity ward who have spent 2 years working on the cod: mw2
ontop of that name 5 games coming out before christmas worth while for your $50
but then again i wouldnt be supprised if it wasnt for the whole boycot thing going on im sure you would buy it, most people are sheep to some degree and i think £26 is worth the fun it will bring

I don't need a boycott to tell me a game isn't worth shit. I saw the trailer way back when it first came out like everyone else did and said "Wow. It's the same god damn game." It doesn't matter to me what they were thinking when making L4D 2. For all I know it was their plan from the start to just release a 2nd game.
I don't even play L4D 1 much anymore. That was a waste of money by itself, considering I paid full price for it when it was released. Then Valve turns around and sells it for half that 6 months later just to move units.
As for CoD: I own 1-4 for the PC, and the UO expansion. They all play exactly the same. Developer is irrelevant, they all follow a similar path. The only difference is the content in the games.
At this point I could easily shell out money for the next installment of the rehashed Quake engine CoD game that should have died after its first sequel, but to be honest I don't think getting that same experience out of a new game is worth the investment. L4D 2 is the same way. Why buy a new game when you're getting the same shit in different packaging?

why play games at all from your logic value should never go down all games should be original and if you dont like it, it should die out
so stfu the boycott started you off and you know it
and seriously i laughed soo hard at this

go buy a car you'll see it drop in value even quicker its life things drop in price ok some thing go up in price but not many things
your argument is as pathetic as it gets, il argue til it gets locked or until i get banned which i doubt would happen as i dont step the mark im more of an opposing force rather then a flamer
oh fyi bring up sequels as a negative thing again il list you all the sequels that done better then the original game despite using the same engine and or minor changes, who do you think will win that argument?

I own a car. If you did too you would (or should) understand why spending $50 for the same shit over and over is pointless. Reward innovation, not stagnation. If I wanted to spend that kind of money on a new story with fancy trappings I'd just go to the movies. It's cheaper that way.
My argument is that L4D 2 is not worth the money. It's my subjective opinion, have fun trying to change my mind.
And keep on dragging along that "you're following the bandwagon" shit. I could sit here and tell you I knew L4D 2 wasn't worth my money before the boycott even existed, but my fingers would wear down to the bones before you'd believe me.

Sequels are only bad when they bring nothing new to the table. Regardless, it's all subjective, meaning both of us could be here for a while if one of us wasn't smart enough to realize it's not worth anyone's time. Luckily one of us is.
I wasnt trying to justify why am getting this game...am getting it because am sure its going to be even better then the first game. and i love all and any zombie games.
May thing about this which makes me laugh at the people who say they wont be getting it is. The fact that when they anncounced the sequal everyone was happy, yet when it was revealed that it was coming out only one year after the first game everyone is up in arms over it and planning a boycot
Fact is, this game is giving new characters, new campgain, new locations, new enemies and this time around the "story" (or there lack of) explains how the outbreak happened and that it is now an global crisis.
The bottom line is. People will buy this game, just like everyyear the same morons who go out and buy FIFA 10 or MADDEN 10 (which makes them some of the biggest selling games of the year). I personally dont think STEAM could give two shits if a few people decided not to buy it. Hell all their doing is basicly advertising the game.

AI Director 2.0, big upgrade over the original seeing as it now controls enviroment, weapon spawns, zombies and a hell of a lot more then the first one did (yes im not just listing new fuctions there im just saying it controls a lot of things now)
new story, pardon me for saying but sequals are suppose to bring a new story to either carry on something or in this case explain how it started, new zombies aint hard, new locations aint hard, minor graphic updates aint hard but combined this is a new game and it brings a lot of new things to the table
and real smart by posing me as the idiot but non the less im stubborn not stupid, there is a difference
finally il drop this after your reply iv said all iv wanted to say now

Wong, did Valve become your employer recently? No matter what you've said so far, from what I can see, L4D2 is L4D. It's the same game. It's barely an expansion. As others have stated, it should just have been a DLC.
- Next generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike. - AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D’s unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day. - New melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies - Four different survivors. New Story. New dialogue. - More game. On day one, L4D 2 features more co-operative campaigns, more campaigns and maps for the Versus game modes than L4D 1, plus support for Survival mode out of the box. - Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play
Don't care. If Valve wants to charge what is obviously should just be DLC content, sell it as an expansion at $9. That should satisfy Time Buckley's pathetic rant about how L4D2 cost money to develop and it shouldn't be free.
As for 5 games instead of L4D2 for 50 bucks. Easy. Brutal Legend, MW2, BC2, Starcraft2 (Cross Fingers), Bioshock2.

i applaud you for a forumulated counter argument
side note bioshock 2 out this year im a bit out the loop if i didnt know that
but i stil hold by the arguement its not unlike other sequels or in this case prequels as its a new story, people where fast to buy both hl2: episode 1 and 2 off steam then they came with orange box which pissed some off but non the less, out of all the gaming companies in the world id rather spend my money with valve they give quality, fun and minus this fast release take their time in producing a game, many of the l4d2 features where gona be dlc but they must see that its enough to make a new game and expand the story.
sometimes you get that for free portal prelude mod for instance free and enlarges the current portal story but not always
and they aint dropping l4d support yet either
