You don't have to be capped to play the game. It is unrealistic for most people to cap let alone get much past lvl 50 to 60ish. And there is nothing wrong with that. In fact with sro that is a good thing. Sro has no end game objective really. Not like most games. When you cap it is boring if you want to play the game and not cape or do retarted job wars at the gate all day instead of actually job. I would love to play a version of sro where people rarely cap and most people are in the 40 to 60 lvl range with a few isolated higher levels who worked hard to get there and get respect for it. That was one of the reasons I quit. I did all that grinding. Got to the cap. Cap was not special as every botter and their dog was capped. Ultimatly playing any MMO is a pointless waste of time. Their only purpose is to pass the time and bring a bit of joy and fun. The bots kill off all the joy and fun. Not just part of it. Regardless that most of those "LEFT" bot that does not make it right. For every botter still playing they drove off 10+ real players.

I couldn't agree more. Being capped should MEAN something. It should take a long time to get there. It shouldn't just be something that every lazy person and his dog can get. If most of the iSRO population was around 40-60, it would make the game more enjoyable for low levels so they don't "have to" just sit on a horse 24x7 until they are lvl 90. And if a "high level" lvl 55 player is causing trouble for a low level, the low level can seek the help of the high level (70+) respected member to help out

Yeah I believe this game has far too many levels. I miss the days when the cap was 70. I mean, I never made it past lvl 45, but considering I never purchased any silk I was really happy back when I used to play.
100 levels is simply ridiculous IMO, making levels 60-80 looking like "noobs".
Unfortunately, SRO has become a game where the community only respects the level you're at and what gear you have. Who cares if Mr.level 100 player botted or was powerleveled. As long as hes in my guild I'm happy. But oh look, that guy is getting powerleveled, thats cheating *whine whine whine*.
Hell, I dont see why euros even sit around getting powerleveled or even bot for that matter. They level up so easily in a nice party, despite the rarity of finding a good party, mind you. Moreover, ITS FUN! This also applies for the chinese chars. The whole "chinese are solo chars" is overrated and a bunch of BS if you ask me. Chinese can party up easily together and get phenomenal exp either way.
People whine about grinding because they do it on their own and they're always farming. Even the whole SUN gear fixation is BS. When people start to learn to settle for less on this game, thats when they'll learn the true value of it.

There must be more ways to gain exp. There must also be more ways to create conflict so that people don't feel the need to focus on grinding all day. It is actually quite ridiculous that all players are basically protected from PVP where ever they go. I think there should be "safe zones" around the towns (and maybe the first area (jangan)), but other than that, players should be free to kill each other where ever they are. This would create the need for real teams. And it would also take care of the gold bot problem since players would just gang up and own all of them. The level system should really be revamped. Multiple low levels should be able to kill high level players. All you have now is basically 1v1 regardless of whats going on.

Progress wrote: The real problem is of course the lack of actual content. There must be more ways to gain exp. Basically throughout all the levels, you can either grind or PVP (including cape, jobbing, and fortress). PVP is a bit difficult at low levels because everyone insists on PVPing in the same spot right outside the city, and cape doesn't give experience. Jobbing is a bit difficult at low levels, and low levels probably aren't much use in fortress wars. So you grind. There's not even a lot of variety in grinding. You fight one or two types of mobs near your level until you gain a few levels, then move on to another set. You also could run into the same problem where some high levels love to constantly 1-hit kill low levels repeatedly in cape PVP. If you can attack anyone, anywhere outside near-town-safe-zones, at any time, as often as you want, without penalty, you'd have people running all over the map just to "pwn some noobs". Now does the dead person have to teleport back to town and spend another 20 minutes walking out to their grinding spot, or can they auto-res to be killed again? We should be able to PVP anywhere on the map, and we actually can, we just need to throw on a cape.

Your not supposed to walk 20 min to your grind area alone, your supposed to bring friends so you can kill what ever killed you. Numbers should be more important than level. The solution to the "high levels run around and own low levels all day" would of course be this (that you left out for some reason): Quote: The level system should really be revamped. Multiple low levels should be able to kill high level players. All you have now is basically 1v1 regardless of whats going on. If they suddenly changed this on a server with 99% level 100 botted fully farmed chars, then yeah, there would be a problem. But if you had a new server, and let people fight for their grinding area, you wouldnt have that problem. ANd people would be able to take care of the gold bots themselves. No one plays this game to grind anyway, they all want pvp. But as it is now, you cant get a fair 1v1 fight unless you are of the same level (>=95?) (unless you mean cape outside of dw (which isnt real pvp since there is no penalty for losing)).

How much fun is it really to see and same death animations and hear the same sfx 5000000 (probably that far off) times? What is your actual argument to chinese not being solo chars? Thats the same reason people use for almost never admitting they are wrong - they dont want their effort to have been in vain. So by continuing to grind/farm/acquire SUN gear, they basically keep telling themselves that "one Farking day, i will be the best" (of course it will probably never happen, but they are too dumb to realize that).

Grinding with company is fun, especially with euro, but this does not exclude the chinese. This game isn't all about pvp. The leveling aspect of the game is also fun, unfortunately, most players throw a negative light on it because they dont do it properly.

Alright I see your point as far as the same skills thing goes. Either way, I don't see why getting to lvl 100 is of such importance to so many people. In most cases when everyone hits cap they end up not playing the game or playing it very little, or they start a new char. And they're back into the vicious cycle. If they don't like leveling then they just shouldnt do it. As for the chinese solo thing. Everyone keeps saying chinese are solo characters, and so they just grind all day with no company. Pretty obvious they're gonna end up getting bored. Chinese chars can still level faster in parties with other chinese chars. Granted, they wont be able to match the leveling standards of the europeans, but its still an improvement. Moreover, a good conversation can take the frustration and monotony away from any grind if you ask me.

If only people would start partying up together like they're supposed to, then grinding will be fun. Grinding with company is fun, especially with euro, but this does not exclude the chinese. This game isn't all about pvp. They did party up when euro came out. Then gradually, when they realized that, for one reason or another, grinding in a group is just as boring as grinding alone, they went back to botting. There are always going to be exceptions, such as yourself. But overall, considering the amount of bots and practically no real players that arent botters at lvl 70+, its quite clear that people do find party grinding to be just as boring as going solo. Can you get SoS drops? Yes, every other year. This makes it fun or exciting? I don't see how.

I suspect the appeal to stand outside of DW with their +9 ultra pimped sun gear and show off is very strong. Quote: In most cases when everyone hits cap they end up not playing the game or playing it very little, or they start a new char. And they're back into the vicious cycle. If they don't like leveling then they just shouldnt do it. I suppose this supports your argument that some people like the leveling up process. However, i have yet to see players that have at least one level 100 fully farmed char that starts over and actually plays the game without a bot. If they start over and start to bot that new char, then they probably consider their previous char somewhat of a failure. At the very least, they feel that there was something that, if done differently, could bring improvements over their previous char. The extreme lack of endgame content in botroad is of course a contributing factor. Quote: As for the chinese solo thing. Everyone keeps saying chinese are solo characters, and so they just grind all day with no company. Pretty obvious they're gonna end up getting bored. Yes, but do the party grind benefits outweigh 24/7 of botting? Quote: Chinese chars can still level faster in parties with other chinese chars. But is it significantly faster? The current bot infestation would suggest that it is not.

First of all, "exceptions such as myself" never spent over 8 hours a day playing it, which is probably why it never really got boring. Progress wrote: What is fun about leveling? Is it challenging? I dont know about you, but there are people who enjoy using their characters even if it is to grind. Personally I used to enjoy tanking several mobs, whilst my other guild mates would love to blow the crap out of them. It helps take the edge off of grinding. And yes you're right, grinding can be monotonous even in a party, but nobody is making them do it. They can stop at any time they want to, its their choice to carry on if they want to.

Progress wrote: Chinese dont have the euro bufs. So its not really a fair comparision. But even in a euro party, it takes forever to reach level 100. People just get tired of it, so they turn to botting. How much fun is it really to see and same death animations and hear the same sfx 5000000 (probably that far off) times?
What is your actual argument to chinese not being solo chars? Chinese are good for solo, but they should be able to party with each other as well. They don't necessarily need buffs. I'm not saying a Chinese party will be just as "good" or "efficient" as a European party, but there's a reason there are different classes of Chinese. You can still have a tank, a damage dealer, someone to lure mobs, a healer. Chinese classes can work well together in a party, it's just a bit different than a European party. That doesn't mean Chinese simply cannot party and are just solo characters. Progress wrote: People whine about grinding because it takes a shitload of time and is Farking boring (even if you are in a party). I actually like grinding, even solo, but parties are more fun. I just don't enjoy it for extended periods of time. I also love skiing, but I wouldn't necessarily want to do it for 5 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The game should have a final cap of 80. And all these lvl 90+ skills that came out should be skills that can be bought or droped and then developed through sp farming(Older skills can be discarded). In other words instead of a lvl cap increase there should just be new skills releases every year for all class and race along with events.
Bring the newer weapons and gear that comes with each lvl cap increase Bring the new skills for each class that also comes with the cap increase Bring the events and avatars etc Just keep the cap at 80 (or even 70)...I don't mind grinding for sp to max out a new skill for my char. Just as long I don't have to chase down a cap that keeps getting farther and farther away.

I can't agree with the choice part here. No one might be forcing them to grind, but if they don't, they get left behind.
