And ontopic, nothing has changed to the better, but alot to the worse.
I think that says it all.

ITT: why do people care about spell checks and grammar so much?

There are different reasons, one is that they like to whine about spelling mistakes cause they have nothing off value to contribute to a discussion. Also a lot of americans are to stupid to understand that its hard for one to learn a foreign language fluently, because most americans dont have the interest to learn a foreign language so they dont know how hard it is.

Some spelling mistakes are really irritating and make it hard to understand a message, however I never worry about these cause I suck at speaking english myself ^^.

Another reason would be that someone just does have to much free time like me and just like me posts pointless reply's :D.

It's pretty much a new thing in the game to get kids addicted to gambling.

You pay for a magic pop card for 10 silk (1 dollar) in the item mall, go to the magic pop guy in a town and put your card in and select the prize you want. There's like 12 prizes.. 10D lucky.. avatars.. devil spirit S grade.. but most people go for the sun weapon they want. Some people get their sun in $1, some use over $300 and never "win".
waste of money of course, but addicts throw all their money into it anyway.

Your post is not much different.

You either assume Americans are the only ones who speak English or they are the only English speakers who care about spelling and grammar, both completely incorrect. Please don't allow stereotypical assumptions excuse inadequacy.

I guess if one person is bad, we should accept everyone to be that way.

If a man could not cook, and expected no one else to be able to either, no one would cook.

I just don't like to see people get constantly assaulted and give a less-appealing appearance when they could easily learn better.

I try not to be offensive with it, unless attacked first.
