I voted no. EB is repulsive enough for botters that some even did not wait to be exposed.

This is more like "Ban the Trolls/Flamers members" thread.

and @Goseki, that's true. Many of the actual members are here only for the "lulz" and some of them don't play sro anymore or they just stay in OTL; but, they sometimes get bored, so they surf on GD (Or those who are from before the euro patch so they think they know everything), so thats how the "Cool Story bro" and others non-accussation-mean-quote (like, "gzz and nice, your char can do skill without yellow boxes :D cool!" thing, but they really mean it) comes.

Just sad...

"oh you're a bot and I have proof"
"No I'm not you're lying, you're a..."

If your not a botter then it really doesn't' matter. If you are a botter then why the hell are you on our legit forums?

This forums used to be a nice little source of character builds or even measurement. When I first found this forums it was pretty cool. You had all these high levels around discussing their builds, what type of equipment they're wearing or what your stats should look like.
Personally, it would be cool just to bring back those types of threads. It's just getting old with the whole, "this shit's impossible, I quit" crap.

Before the EB section the cap was like 80ish. So of course it was easier, now it's just a grind fest.

I feel that envy (whether you like to believe it or not) led to the downfall of this forums. It's pretty inactive these days, and there not too much useful SRO contributions anymore.

People have been quitting sro due to the recent waves of bots. Which leads to these people not coming to SRF. The EB section only plays a small roll in the bigger picture of things.

I can honestly careless about how to manage to farm and level up to 100, it was pretty damn nice back in 70 and early 80 cap where people would show off their stuff or contribute on what made their build special. Sure there's a huge difference in game play now, but honestly get over it. It's dull and boring where every other topic someone's making a poor bot pun, a poor accusation, or just point out the same implications of botting.
Do what I do, avoid the GD most of the time. Like I said though, it's a grind fest, people don't have time to come here and contribute as much as they did at the 70-80 cap simply because it takes forever to cap.

Also, bare in mind that SRF has all sorts of people. Different races, ages and so on. So of course heads are going to bump once in a while. Just move on and don't let it phase you.

I'm alright with the anti-bot promoting policy and encouraging a healthy community. I do not find it as appealing to read new post and watch them do the follow:

1) Hi, I have a question, how much is this sos worth? Anyone seen this new pk2 outfit yet? [Inserts screenshots]

2) First

3) Yellow boxes MISSING ZOMG

4) STFU @ ^, That sos is prob worth around 50 mil, maybe 100 if you pimp it more. Nice outfit. Care to share how to do it?

5) Wow... no yellow boxes. **** this cheater. BOT BAN BOT BOT BOT *jizzes in pants*

6) Post +1

7) BOTTTTTT

8) In before lock

9) Wow, that's a really cool pk2 edit. Love the glow

10) BOT

11) BAN BAN BAN **** YOU BOTTERZ

12) Hahah nooooobbbbbbbb forgot your yellow boxes didn't you

13) Look at the number, it could just be lag. Nice sos btw. :)

14) No, it's a bot. Look at the way his left leg is lagging compared to his right hand.

15) W..T..F...

16) YELLOW BOXES ZOMG! BAN NOW!!!

17) Cool Story Bro

18) ~Banned for using bots~

19) Topic Closed

20) Me... ----- **** I was gonna tell him I wanted to buy that sos -_-

thing is this wasn't cause because of EB its the age of the trolls. i say at least all bot accusing should go to EB not said in the thread itself that should cut down on the number of spammed posts.

Let the poll speak for itself.

Many dedicated members has been banned.
We want them back.
I was a hater long ago, but I prefer SRF the way it was.
We want EB off.
We want respected members unbanned.
We want the old SRF back.

SRF is a community forum, atleast for me it is.
When EB came, it was because the admins listen and act apon.
I hope the same goes for this.

Your logic is pathetic in many ways.
This game has 1 big illness and that is the botting issue, you kinda sound confused, people can be great but be terrible wrong at the same time.

Most who got banned were banned by their own stupidity, most of them are back with other names and the ones that really dont care quit the game/forum and moved on, no clue who you are referring to as respected members anyway, since the one that care about the forum just came back with other names and learned from their mistakes.

Anyone that helps destroy this great game cant be called respectful in my opinion, they are contributing on the total destruction of what we all love and you want to accept that?

The old SRF was just 1 whine/cry/drama party, the EB section added a bit of peace to that at least in all other sections of this forum (not counting the venus section since that is still a crybaby paradise)

SRF is indeed a community forum based over a game most of us still play that is BEING destroyed by the majority of this community and instead of fighting it you rather accept/join it?

Sorry but i am not the type that loves to trace the majority when it comes to certain rules and views over this game, i voted NO keep the EB sections and if you aren't afraid of it why do you want it gone anyway? its you who decide to visit it or not, its you who decide to participate in the bot hunt or not, i don`t see why you should be concerned about it unless you bot.

No. Aside from "waaa funny funny is mine friend. he say good joke from google and have wonderful sexy organ... no ban him pls", there really is no good reason to scrap EB. Who's to say one is a "respected member" anyway? Sure, some contribute more than others but it's rare that the whole forum will be at a consensus on one member's respect-o-status.

SRF is not as active as it once was because like in every other forum, "respected members" will eventually get tired of people riding their dicks for their entertainment value while they themselves get bored of reading all the ROFLMAO's and +1's.

Also, it's not very frequent that SRO gets new content. Even when it does, you can discuss the new content to death in a week tops. People will run out of things to talk about, it's natural. Don't expect to be miraculously saved by a "respected member". The Rev6 forums doesn't have EB and it's still not that much better than SRF. And even if it was, why don't you bot supporters just go there instead?

imo, it would only be needed to change the rules about bans. for example ban only a bot promoter and not a srf member whos never been online and with 0 posts. or dont ban a 'famous' or 'old' member who is here from long time and hasnt posted anything pro-botting only because a jealous noob found proof hes a botter.

I'm split on this and on some of people's views.

On one hand, its good to keep the botters out of here, keep them on their toes and know we are serious.

BUT, due the the EB ive been a lot of old members get banned etc.

Yes its sad to see some of these people go, but in the long run its better to keep botters out of the picture.

that's my 2cents for the night :P

I actually voted yes. I think its boring and kinda childish.

Would be a lot simpler and nicer if we just changed the rules so that any referring / accussing / mentioning of bots would result in a warning / ban.

(as if this poll / thread means anything anyway)

I want to see what the Mods will do,claiming that Consensus was the reason they made the EB section in the first place, people complained they wanted it.

Now if consensus shows people don't want it anymore will you be honest to your principles or will u do what nucleorsilo said :
Quote:
"If members say yes, but the mods say no, there is nothing you can do. Members' voice has no value. :)"

Dictators or Democratic Principles,Prove yourself.

At least 1 of the Mods has read this thread, it's still open.
At the end of the Poll, if majority voted Yes.
I am hoping Admin will re consider.

@lucid4life
I don't agree on the part where you said
Quote:
members voice has no value

They are always listening.
But whatever decisions they made, theres always ppl whos with and against it.
Its just impossible to make every1 happy.

Yea, then there will be a petition to get it back up from the people who want it. Its a never ending cycle. Cant keep everyone happy.

I didnt say it,nucleorsilo said it.I think they listen, but if they stick to their principles is what they have to show.

On the part of making everyone happy,so far it shows 70% wants it scrapped, thats not a small margin.

In real life if a poll shows 70% vs 30% consensus won't just change by the day with such a huge margin so it's not a never ending cycle unless u speculate on improbable variables.

EB remains because srf is still a haven for the bunch of
legit players that still remain in sro. yes, the rules are
strict, but people have a choice to bot or not, and those
that do cheat on the game, taking out all the fun for those
who don't cheat.

you cheat, you get banned.

it's that simple.

if you really wanted to make this a "hear my suggestion"
topic, you should have posted it in site discussion. posting
something like this in GD is just an easy way of attention
whoring.

if you don't like the way this forum works, you're free to

Its just impossible to make every1 happy.

now here's a smart man, this is how it works everywhere.

tbh, i see a poll in which it seems the majority wants to
get rid of the EB section, but when i read the replies in
this topic, it seems like the majority wants to keep it.

that's the problem with polls. people can just vote something
random without explaining why they voted. the reasons i've
read by people posting in favor of the EB section are a lot
more appealing than the reasons against it imo <- means it's
my opinion, not the staff's.

i personally feel that most people replying against the EB
section basically want unbanned members to get back, since
they all feel we're banning good people. well it's not very
likely that people who have gotten banned in the past will
be allowed back on this forum, which means most of this
reasoning isn't really going anywhere.

we'll be discussing about this with the team, but don't
expect a decision to be made overnight. the EB section is
a very delicate subject here on srf because it basically
means we either do or don't allow bots to visit our forum.

i'm personally very much against closing it because of the
reasons stated in the post SwordCloud quoted. but who knows;
i'm a moderator to enforce the rules, and if they would get
changed, i'd still be enforcing them.

i will lock this thread now and all other threads concerning
the EB section. i think two topics on this one subject is
already one to many.

This quote.

That is exactly how the forum was before we opened E.B. People bitched and whined. 'BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW, stop protecting botters. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW. Stop shafting legits, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW." So, you know what we did? We listened. We took the communities' advice and started our glorious crusade. Now you're all "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWING" for it to be the same. Sometimes I want E.B. gone, but I look at how clean G.D. is and how drama free the forum is and think why the **** would I want a bunch of obnoxious stuck up asshats back on this forum. They can troll and keep their **** on bot forums.
