It is truly disappointing to see how people can be towards each other. More than half the members on this forum have claimed to have quited sro. But every time I come on here, I see them posting about what a terrible game sro is, and that everyone should quit. Not allowing the new members the chance to play the game.
My question is. If you've quited the game and are enjoying life so much? why do you come on here and post about how the game is horrible? Why do you care, if you don't play the game any longer? Do you think your fooling anyone? If your life is so great after quiting sro, why do you come on here to post? Let these guys enjoy their game. Its not fair of you to have played the game and now that have have "quit" try to turn everyone against the game. And quit with you too. I come here to keep in touch with a few. I come here for cheap laughs every time someone thinks joymax will do something at this point. I come here when nostalgia waxes and I need a bit of MMO methadone to quell the false pangs of addiction.(just reading about what a shithole the game has become clears that right up) I come here for community service to the tiny bit of community there is. Most of you are not here for the game. You are here for friends. You are kidding yourself to think otherwise. Joymax is not in the least deserving of your money. None of you are deserving of the grief joymax has wrought. There are other games out there. Games with better graphics. Better balance. Better game play. Better admins. Did you know it is not a common thing on any MMO besides SRO to be massively outnumbered by bots either gold or player. Any other MMO even the other "free" ones bots are kinda rare. Yes SRO is that bad. EternalVibes wrote: The truth is. Ben liked silkroad when he first started playing it, like all of us on here. What you guys don't realize is that sro was filling a void in your life, it provided you with entertainment when your were not working, at school, with family or friends. Eh even if you are a premium using silk buyer the time required for SRO is less of a void filler and more of a life substitute. Even for those with the patience it is several months of hard farming followed by several months of hard leveling to cap fully farmed and it is only getting worse. I got 60+ fully farmed well geared in WoW in less than 3 weeks. Figure I will hit 70 in another week or two. And after that it is on to cap. But everything comes to an end, thats just part of life. You enjoy things while they last, and then move on to something else. It makes no sense to look back and feel bitter about something like playing sro. If you do, then your going to stay stagnant feeling bitter, when you could have been doing other things. Over the years I've played many MMO's, I still remember some of them vividly. I even download some of then and log in once in a while, to say hi to old friends. But I would never say to them what a waste of time their game is. Because its serving a purpose for them, like it was serving me previous. Bitter is not the right word. Simply put every customer lost is another nail in the coffin for SRO. Sad to see the state it is in now. It should have died long ago. It is at once funny and painful to see ppl so addicted to this game still. Wake up it is not the game you like. Gather your friends and go forth explore other options. You will find SRO is not what you think it is.

I work / study a bit for fun, but especially for the money. So I can waste it at non productive things. Hell you dont have a girl friend? Mine is really non productive and costs alot ( hope she doesnt read SRF ) Those 2-3 hours a day of playing sro/soccer / whatever make me be more productive in working time.

You will find SRO is not what you think it is. I guess were in the same boat then. I stated playing sro summer of 2006, and by the end of 2006 I was trying to quit. I took me a whole two years to really quit sro, even though i still come to the forums nowadays. My complaint against you, is that. Your trying to tell everyone on here what a waste of time sro is, but i bet when you were actively playing someone tried to do the same thing. And I'm pretty sure you blew them off as a loser or an idiot, like everyone is doing to you and Ben. Yes, I agree, sro is nowhere as good as it use to be, or how good it could be. But your not gonna get anywhere by telling people sro is a piece of sh!t and waste of time. We all have to quit on our own terms. An addict doesn't quit by everyone telling him he's an addict. He quits when he realize to himself that he's an addict. All he needs is time to figure that out. And thats what I'm asking you to give these players; time. You had your fun, let them have theirs.

When they come on here and see other people having fun with a game that they are sad and bitter about they get upset. So to feel better about themselves, they try to take that happiness away from you. In this case, you playing sro. It's tearing them apart that you can have with something that they cant have fun with. Just ignore them and keep playing your game bro. ~Misery loves company. End of story.

I think some of you are missing the point of the post, i haven't come back to Silkroad, i came back to see if it was still the same. Alas, it is exactly the same. Same old game, same old community. I was curious because when i did play Silkroad i always lived in hope that it would become the game we all wished it would be, but no and it never will be.
To put things straight, i don't have much time for online games any more. And i must add that over all this time, i've been in relationships and my current relationship is coming up for four years this next month. Currently looking for a new house and i'm thinking about starting my own business and i add that i've been in full time employment since i left educational status. I've always been an outgoing person and i only ever play(ed) online game to spend time with my friends who are local and across the globe.
So don't start thinking this is a social withdrawal issue, it's the case for many of you tho, and that's pretty obvious judging by your replies and shallow opinions. Most of you here think you are unique in what you say but it's just the same tired old path that Silkroad has lead you down, same as all the other idiots who think like you.
I'm very interested to discover the average age of the Silkroadforums user list, would explain a lot of things.
And also, i posted and made sure to direct the post at no one in particular. Just generalising and expressing an opinion but as sure as there's sun in the sky, enough of you just came in here to add you rhetorical insults towards me and at others involved in the thread. You are pathetic, you are nothing and you are the vitriol that has diluted these forums to nothing but a steaming pile of sh*t.
Good day.

Good day. Dude your a prick. You quit playing sro, got a good job, a girlfriend, and soon a house. And your first instinct is to come on here and tell us what losers we are and how your better than us. Not everyone is like you, not everyone have the personal skill or life experiences as you to be able to achieve that. I still cant see why you are shock at our responses. How would you react to someone calling you a loser and acting like they are better than you? Thats messed up man.

First insults in this topic came from you. Didn't matter if you weren't aiming for anyone in particular. Why do you insist on coming off as if you made an awesome topic that was way too much to be understood by the average SRF member? All you did was write an obnoxious essay that can be summarized in three sentences:
I think SRO sucks. OMG, you still play SRO? You suck.
You're just another pompous piece of shit. Get over yourself.

No goldbots, minimal amount of player bots, no ridiculous amount of time required to farm sp, much cheaper silk, no need for premium just to log in, a much more level playing field (no avatars, no devil spirits) and no gold buying etc. If this doesn't sound closer to the sro the majority of you started playing (give or take a few things, I realize not all of you have played since the games inception) than the current state of isro then I don't know what to tell you, but for me, thats how it SHOULD be played.

No goldbots because the server limit is so low. The ones who are player bots are the highest levels there, the Sun whores. You can buy SP. Silk was never a problem for me, and buying Silk for ECSRO is technically illegal. Premium items for a reason. No gold buying? Are you joking? ECSRO(Fembria) is the most corrupt version of Silkroad out there. Any friend of the GM gets special benefits. The top botters are allowed to openly walk around with their shiny sun weapons. You can buy whole Sun +9 sets. Hm, sounds fantastic. Bottom line is that ECSRO is for kid who can't take the grind of a Korean MMO.

@Curve
95% of the people "playing" isro are bots. So what exactly is your point about "the grind of a Korean MMO"? The GM's who gave sun to their friends were subsequently fired and the suns deleted. And no, it is not possible to buy gold for ecsro Fembria from a gold site. Anyways this is a stupid argument, if you like isro then more power to you.

If there are gold bots, they are few and far between. If you think the gold bot problem is 1/10000th of what it is on isro, your sadly mistaken.

This is my issue with you, roflcopter..
If you were genuinely interested in the well being of people playing the game, you wouldn't come down with that condescending, holier-than-thou attitude that is actually driving people away from you rather than attracting them. So I don't believe your efforts are at all genuine but simply your personal way of attacking a vice that had a hold on you that you could not escape- a hold so strong you thought you would not escape- and attacking it leaves you with a feeling that you actually accomplished something and projecting your hate for that vice on everyone else. But then one day you left the game and you'd wish others would do the same because you truly and honestly believe that the game has the same effect on everyone else that it had on you. This is where problem lies. Your failure to recognize the fact that we are not like you. No matter how boring you may find the game, no matter how pointless and futile you may deem the game to be, you have to realize that not everyone is plays the game for the same reasons you did and not everyone has your same opinion on what is classified as fun and what is not.
Everyone knows how crappy the game is and that it'll never go back to the way it was (well, I guess you didn't, but I digress.. ), but that is all irrelevant. You remind me of those anti-drug advocacy groups saying how horrible and evil drugs are and that people who do drugs never amount to anything. But then you turn around and see the masses of professionals in various fields that do drugs and are actually very successful in life. Then again, there are also those who are hopelessly addicted and will never stop using them. And that is what I mean. You are that rehabilitated drug addict that genuinely believes anyone who uses will never reach their level of enlightenment and clarity, and everyone using is hopelessly lost and addicted because in the past they were hopelessly lost and addicted because of their lack of self-control. You aren't the first and I'm betting you won't be the last to pretend to be concerned for the well being of people. No one needs your type of charity.
That's all I'm going to say. I don't hate you or your opinion and you are free to state your thoughts. What I do not like, however, is that you're trying to compare ourselves to you because you seem to have a feeling of grandeur simply because you quit a game. Really, I applaud you for overcoming your personal addiction, but I wouldn't list that as an accomplishment on an job application any time soon.

You are pathetic, you are nothing and you are the vitriol that has diluted these forums to nothing but a steaming pile of sh*t. Pot, meet kettle.

Ben overreacted to the botting comment. The issue at hand when I commented on his botting was ethics. Unethical to think that he deserved to lose his account but cheating is a-ok because this. is. just. a. game? That's bs and I don't see why anyone would disagree. Funny how he acted as if his attempt at heroism suddenly got pushed to the background because he's a botter when all that was done was to show him that he is not in a position to talk about ethics in a game. That Ben, such a drama queen. I'll defend myself when someone insinuates that I have mental issues because of my choice of a pastime. +1 I honestly believe that these guys are sad and lonely in their lives. LOL whatever you gotta tell yourself Maybe some are but I am not actually here to demean anyone. I was like many of you at one time. Perhaps worse. Took a while for me to come around. And yes I did resist those who said things similar to what I now say back then. However also like back then I suspect that some of you are intelligent enough to understand. If you think at least on my part this is due to some misery then you are likely not one of the ones I speak. LOL actually I am having a bit of fun with this.

The overwhelming idiocy on these forums has never ceased to amaze me, after all it's your life not mine, i was wise enough to see the error of my ways. Same as many others. Just think of me on the day you come to realise what the f*ck you have been doing playing Silkroad for all this time. @ Ping_lo... I always respected you on the forums, more so now than ever. A lot of you are foolish to think that i'm wrong in what i say, i (like many others) just have another perspective of this game which many of you will come to discover in due course. It's so obvious most of you are in denial, but then where would Silkroad be without idiots like you I'm guilty of being like you at some point or other and i will never deny that, make that clear. But i listened to others, albeit, it took a certain chain of events. But anyway. And i'm no drama queen, as the biggest loser on this forum tried to suggest. But i guess thats all a simpleton can come to a conclusion about when he can't even muster a genuine, well thought out retort. I'm done here, what the f*ck was i thinking in the first place.

You have been saying the same thing over and over again. "OMG you don't agree with me... waa waa waa. You're an idiot." Your long posts won't hide that. Not once were you able to come up with an actual answer to anyone's points because you have your head too far up your own ass that you think no one else can be right except those who agree with you. Ben: SRO is evil. Like, totally. Us: How so? Ben. Idiot simpleton idiot! That's this thread. Except for your one point (which happened to be not new at all anyway) and a few insults, you never said anything and yet you claim to want a discussion. You just want people to agree with you and maybe try to pass off your good English as actual intelligence while calling people names without anything to back anything up. Biggest loser in this forum? What, you have a loser-o-meter? I like playing SRO and I'm perfectly sure I won't end up being homeless in the near or far future. Whatever it is you're trying to save us from, most of us can handle just fine. This own business of yours that you're about to start...it's not a new MMORPG, right?
