Ugh I just started silkroad and I'm so frustrated! It's all because of sp farming. D:
I'm depressed that you HAVE to do it in order not to suck. But whatever...I would do it, if I even knew what to do =( :banghead:

Like all the guides on SP farming don't help me at all, Could someone just come here and go "OK, This is what you do, ____ then go here and _____ and kill ______ but _____" or something to that effect? lol. I just need someone to go, OK, DO THIS. I am lvl 7, I want to be a Wizard/cleric and I've spent some SP so far [getting WIZ mastery to lvl4, Cleric mastery lvl 1 *no sp required* and I got lvl1 Ice bolt and lvl 1 Fire bolt].

-What level do I start SP farming?
-Ok, so I know I have to kill monsters but what else? Do I do something when I have xx SP or have xx EXP?
-I heard you can do it all at once, but I want to break it up, [I heard that I could] So what do I do when I'm not SP farming?
- What the heck is 'gap'? 0_0

**********
Summary:
I am currently a lvl 7, I want to be a wizard/cleric. I have spent SP in making my wizard mastery lvl 4, and added one point in Fire Bolt, and Ice Bolt, and I have some SP just sitting there unused. Now I want to start SP farming but not all at once, some at a time... what do I do now? When/where do I start and what do I do? And until then what do I do?
**********
...ugh sorry for nooby questions but you have absolutely no idea how much I would appreciate your help. =)

Lol you chose one of the most sp needy builds.

As for farming, the common thing now is to get Power Farmed.
To get powerfarmed you need a really get buddy.

I say your best bet is to make a chinese nuker, get only lightning and take it to 64. Then plvl yourself on a different computer.

hmm, Well i don't mind farming but I don't even know what I am supposed to do
D:
And another question, since I wanna be a wiz/cleric
what should my planned wiz mastery be, and what should my planned cleric mastery be?
[lol im using one of the calculators]

Well, along with what the guy above me said, you did pick a really high sp needing character lol. But hey, it all comes in time.

To be honest i am not to fond of the euro class, but like i found it easier with a chinese character to start with. And an easy character to get started in the game with is an int character. What you can do is start a chinese character, and level up your masteries to only level 7. And just keep going until you get to level 18, delevel back to level 16, and level up Pacheon (Bow) mastery to level 7. Then go to bandit fortress and farm at bandit archers. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU LEVEL UP YOU ADD ALL STAT POINTS TO INT!!! (that is if you want an int character lol).

P.S. I would use armor to start with. Unless your fortunate to get an sox 2d set of another type of gear. And as far as a bow goes, an SOM bow is what most legit farmers would prefer. But as far as starting out it doesnt really matter. Just use an npc bow or as best you can get for now.

Ok, once you know how to farm, you can make an int character to help yourself farm any other character you want. Honestly, i would just farm about 50-60k sp (if you have the time). Because that can get you full farmed Spear / light attacks to level 64. And you dont have to worry about the pacheon mastery because it is only level 7. It wont really matter.

YES YES i know this is the old school way to farm but it does work.

BUT if you dont want to do any of the above and just stick with wiz / cleric and do nothing else, i dont know how well wizards do at low level farming. If you could i would try to see if you could get to about level 60 and farm at sonars. If you have a good set and a good staff, at lvl 60 you can farm at sonars pretty effectively (unless there are a lot of goldbots... they do get quite annoying sometimes lol.).

WOW sorry this is long, just a little bit to go ^_^.

And if you can, yes farming at ongs is easiest. Get to know some people, start talking to them if you can. You get to make friends quite quick on this game. So for being a lvl 60 wizzard with a 9 gap, so your skills will be level 51, you will need a total of ~80k. And if im not mistaken, you will get about 30~35k just leveling up from 1-60. So you are looking at about 50k sp to farm to get to lvl 51 FF.

I hope this helped. And if you need anything else clarified, just ask. If i cant answer right away im pretty sure someone else here is more then willing to help you :D

Good luck and i really hope this helped a little bit. And not only just confused you lol

You can farm whenever you feel like farming. There's not a rule nor anything for that.
-Ok, so I know I have to kill monsters but what else? Do I do something when I have xx SP or have xx EXP?
No, only kill monsters.
-I heard you can do it all at once, but I want to break it up, [I heard that I could] So what do I do when I'm not SP farming?
Level normally with a lower gap.
- What the heck is 'gap'? 0_0
The difference between your highest mastery level and your level. For instance, let's say you are lvl 40 and have heuksal at 37, lightning at 37, cold at 38 and fire at 36. Your gap will be 40 (your level) - 38 (your highest mastery level which in this case is cold) = 2 gap. The higher your gap is the less EXP you'll get and the more SXP you'll get. To maximize the SXP you can get, simply open a 9 gap, like, you are lvl 40 with the highest mastery level (or highest mastery levels) of 31.

To help on how much SP you need or what gap you'd need to w/e reason, simply go to http://www.nivlam.com , you can find most of what you need related to SP there. If you have any more questions just ask.

[lol im using one of the calculators]

If you want to be FF'ed (full farmed) to the cap, then plan them to 100wizard/100cleric. If you intend to farm 'by steps' then plan them to any level you want, like, you are 39 with skills at 30, you plan on farming 50k SP so you are FF'ed at lvl 52, then you farm 50k SP, close your gap (level your skills as much as possible) and level till 52. Then open a gap again, choose a level to farm, and do it again. Hope you can understand what I mean. Ah, btw, at nivlam.com, in the left 'tab' you should put he skills that you have, and on the right the skills you are planning for, so you'll get how much SP you need to be able to level your skills from your current masteries to the planned ones. Sorry if I'm too confusing.

Ill tell u what gap is example below :D
say you start a new character all mastrys are lvl 0
u get him to lvl 9 with all mastrys lvl 0 u will get more sp then u get exp
If u start a new character and u lvl him to 9 with the mastrys u want to 9 u will get more exp
than u get sp points and say if you lvl 9 and ur mastrys 5 u have a 4 gap if u dont understand add me its a hard thing to explain :(

Since you are level 7 and this is your first char, this is what I recommend you do:
-keep a small mastery gap (no more than 3)
-take as few cleric skills as you can (if you can get away with not leveling up faith or charity then do so as it will save a lot of sp)
-take only 2 of the 4 wizard branches (e.g. fire and cold only or fire and earth only, you can still get level 1 of the lightning knockback skill)
-don't use sp on any skills that you don't really need, it might look like you have a lot extra right now, but later on you'll regret it

There is no point farming ahead of time unless you intend to be a lvl 100 FF wiz/cleric. You can always use this wiz to plvl a new character later on if you are still interested in the game.

DEFINITION OF FARMING :: killing low lvl monsters with high GAP to recieve quick skill experience points.

DEFINITION OF GAP :: the level difference between your characters level and the highest mastery level [ex. your lvl 7 and your highest mastery lvl is 4. so you have 3 gap. if your lvl 7 and your highest mastery was lvl 1 then your gap would be lvl 6.]

NEED FOR GAP :: 9 gap is MAX. high the gap, more sp you will get per kill, and less exp you will get per kill. LESS gap..... just vice versa.

WHAT IS DE-LEVELING :: keep dying until your character drops levels. MAKE SURE YOUR CHARACTER DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING IMPORTANT IN HIS INVENTORY FOR YOU WILL START TO LOSE THEM AS YOU DIE.

WHAT IS POWERLEVELING :: being in a exp auto-share party[max pt member of 8] one person doing all the killing and you receiving a share of the exp and sp.

HOW TO FARM :: use a character builder to calculate how much sp you need to be fully farmed at a certain level.[rev6.com or sro.mmosite.com]
now lets say you need 400,000sp to be fully farmed at lvl 70. and from lvl19 to lvl70 with 0 gap will get you 100,000sp. so you will then need to farm 300,000sp.
best bet is get powerleveled at ongs with 9 gap to lv28 then dlvl your character to lv19 and back up to lv28. repeat this process until you reach your required sp. once you reached your required sp then you close all your gap[0 gap] then keep leveling until you reach lvl70. Then once your sp runs out. you farm again.

Not true, you don't need to kill lower level monsters to farm, everything you need is a 9 gap. You can kill higher level monsters, monsters at the same lvl as you, or below, doesn't matter at all what you kill.
