If all 3 tiers are present in a cap then you will see SOS, SOM and SOSUN. In the 70 cap they didnt have the final tier included - so no way to get your hands on a SUN.

100 cap the final tier items are 98/99/100. All of which can and have dropped. So there will be SUN weapon drops as the population becomes higher in levels.

All SOX starts at tier 1 of every cap...So at the level 70 cap, the first tier was included but yet there weren't any SOSuns weapons..(even gear).

I assumed that because the first tier was so close to the caped lvl at the 70 cap, Joymax didn't want anyone to have SOSuns as it would cause some imbalance in the game....But I guess thats not what they were thinking since now at this current cap they allowed SOSuns.

I doubt about that. I got a sosun level 1 on tigers (so not a tier) and a sox level 5 from a dark wolf. I agree that non tier drops are unusual but they exist. I don't know what JM wants but at a certain moment it was impossible to drop a sosun weapon at highest level. I don't know what attitude they have actually.

What I mean;

1st Tier - SoS
2nd Tier - SoM
3rd Tier - SoSun

So if all 3 tiers can drop, then the highest potential SoX would be a SUN.

Its how the system is designed to ensure weapons are not more overpowered, than what they already are. Because during the 70 cap the SoS presented the 1st tier level. If SUNS dropped then it would be easily unfair especially since you could not get a 2nd or 3rd tier item.

They probably just fixed the drop rate. Simple as that.

Or the fact that we all start at the begin of the degree, where as we were respectively 6 lvl's above the first lvl at 70 cap (when 80 cap came) and 4 lvl's above the first lvl at 80 cap (when 90 cap came). So it just takes a while till the big group gets to the mobs that drops sun the most (I know it's random but I'm pretty sure there is some mob that drops more sun than other mobs.)

Not a single Sun Weapon on Aege AFAIK. I'm assuming they lowered the drop rate because there are people grinding on mobs from lvl 90-99. If anything, one of those would have dropped something by now.

Since we are on the topic of SoX, ive got my own question and didnt wanna make a new thread about it.

I was thinking, if 10D started at lvl 90, then 11D should start at lvl 104? Which would probably mean we would have 2nd tier at most and only get som drops at 110cap. Just a thought, anyone rekon this might be the case?

Most people are still on red mobs correct? Most parties anyways I believe. And red mobs have a highly reduced chance to obtain a SoX. Coupled w/ the 'technical rarity' of SUN and perhaps decreased drop rate on Joymax's part, it explains the relatively low levels of SUN dropping this cap compared to last.

My take on it anyways. Haven't played the game in a while (Euro launch), so I could be dead wrong.

Sir, i think you are absolutely correct.

Once more people start getting gray on mid-level cap mobs (94-96 ish i suppose) we will start seeing more suns. I think the sun rate will pick up within a week, and if not then the week after. Expect a "SUN DROP" Thread from me :)

Has anyone noticed that just cause ksro gets something, it doesn't mean we will. Maybe they removed the sosun weps for now. Just like the rooms in the cave were removed but i'm sure we'll get them eventually.

I dont think you understood him, what he meant was that if the Cap can only allow the first tier of a normal item to be found, then you can only get SoS, anything beyond that is impossible to get, as for the 70 cap you could only get first tier 64 to 69 item therefor only SoS was implemented, only afterwards at the 80 cap were SoM and Sosun 8th degree gear were added.

he knows that

thats not what he's saying

he's saying they left off the sun because no one could get tier 3 weapons which would have put suns tower way too far above every one else, because they'd be stuck with tier 2 weapons

he was stating a theory about the blance issues

11D is 101/104/108 from the pk2 files. 12D is 111/114/118. It can change but so far, this is what we have.
