As ecsro have updated the skills levels, is 1:1 spear still good? (I mean 1 level int, 1 level str ect...) I am making one and i am level 28 atm. I was planning on having 90 light, 70 heuksal 90 fire and 50 ice.

If it isnt, what is the best spear build for garment?

1:1 is balanced, right?(70:70)
if it is, then you need your heuksal at 90 for sure, and since you have quite alot phy. def, you don't actually need ice.
I would just go for heuksal 90, fire 90, light 90, (ice 30, whenever updated skills will come, mana shield at 24% could be handy)

Yeah i mean 70:70, but i never understood why people called it that.
And i dont think they will update the snow shield, because they dont know how. Adding new skills is just another line in a database, but for snow shield they would actually need to code the damage reduction.

Anyway, would that build be alright with garment or should i consider prot? For 90 heuksal, 90 fire, 90 light, i mean. And i assume it would be fire embue too?

I don't think its good. Spear is int based. Maybe you should make it a little bit more int-heavy.

It wouldnt matter if spear is int based, he could use a Glaive too if he found a nice one. I'd probably say wear prot or garms. More a fan of prot for hybrids.

they call it 70:70 cause thats the phys/mag balance you get as a result (or what you aim for i think) thats my guess on it.

Alchemy is a must for this more then any other build i'd say. If you full blue your gear you'd be bumping up your stats to balances in the 80s. Depends what type of character you play for what masteries to do, but phys def wise I dont think Ice is worth it unless gotten to 60+(think thats when the new buff is given). Could consider Bow to 30 for the bit of AR inc from it if you want instead, duno.

I'd say go for it if you think you'd enjoy it :)

I am pure int spear and I do good in garms.
it's called 70:70 cause you get 70% phy. balance and 70% mag. balance naked under "C"
You should stick with garms, since you get enough phy. def from str that you have added, or you can go with protector. I would choose garms tho.
This build is kickass imo. Btw, SG was close to 70:70 naked and he pwned me so bad in pvp.

Well my plan was to go pure int until 59 (to level faster) then pay for the stat reset thingy, then go pure int until 30, then pure str until 60 then 1:1 until 90.

I've also ordered 1m SP and a 4D and 7D sun set, so i dont think defence will be a problem, or low damage.

Thanks for the advice guys, i will go 70:70 and use garment with 90 heuksal, 90 Fire, 90 Light and 30 Cold.

Just wanted to say that 70/70 is completely different from 1:1. In fact, 70/70 is a hybrid int, while 1:1 is a hybrid STR.

70/70 means:
70% mag balance / 70% phy balance

While, 1:1 means:
1str:1int (1 str point to 1 int point)

So, the 1:1 hybrid would have the same amount of INT and STR points, while the 70/70 would have a nearly equal magical and physical balance.

That's why i had to add more int when i tried 70:70 bow.

Anyways, go for 70:70 for your build

yup, 70:70 is like a 2:3 hybrid ratio.
I reckon the main disadvantage is tht it will be harder to outlast strs, like 70:70 spears are able to do on iSRO. Having never played on ecSRO, i dont know wat it's like there but no snow shield would IMO ruin the point of going 70:70. DPS ain't gonnna do much if u can't survive long enuf. But prove me wrong and make a 70:70 if u want. Otherwise i'd go with something with a little more damage.

Well i decided not to go with 70:70 anymore cos i would like some more nuking damage.
Instead, i went pure INT to 30, then 2:1 to 90.

Which will give me this naked:
