i dont find nitro's test reliable...you need to do multiple trials and find the average difference in dmg. yes chinese are meant to be hybrid..no shet..everyone should know that...but noone wants to take the "risk" of fcking up their char since full str/ints have been a sort of a model for all builds since the beginning.

You won't kill bladers, unless they have shit gear, you wont tank glaivers without snowshield, pvping warriors will suck, even with ice imbue max etc. Stick to pure imo.
Just saying because I have a 90 s/s 1:8

Your all making the same old mistake here. You claim that being hybrid will dominate, yet fail to list any sort of mastery combinations that will grant it greater success over a pure str character with an ideal mastery set up. This is where nuclear's post comes into the equation. At a higher cap your choices will be much more limited. The generic build for a bow; 120 fire, 120 pach, 60 cold. It grants a decent defence for cold and a good fire buff for your phy attack. Now lets say we hybridize this build without making any note to mastery changes, just like most people here are doing. You fire buff will effect you less, you have no light to increase your magical attack and you just lost a whole heap of hp, awesome time.
A hybrid can work, especially in the 80 cap. As times move forward and our ability to choose 3 capped masteries falls away than their effectiveness will be faltered.
Its not the stat distribution that makes a hybrid strong, rather the way they can benifet from a multitude of different masteries.
( also blah blah different pvp forms group pvp 1v1 combined races your descriptions are too vague blah blah )

I got a 76 Hybrid Bower (20 lv. Int) with NPC Gears NPC Bow and no Premium. With a strong bow without Imbue I hit like 10k without crit. on a earth ghost, with the same skill plus the imbue I hit 18-19k without crit. Crit. is like 30-32k.

Because you're a hybrid! If you were purer str you wouldn't have that much damage diffrence.

Vandango's screenshotsWhats the point? Have you ever made a character, and when you start fightining, your balances are like 50% and 70% ... and you used melee attack, and it done 34 damage ... then you used imbue, and it dealt 78 damage? The higher the cap is, the higher phy balance will be for full Str, and he will gain less damage from imbue ... Dual weapons arent fail for lv.110 I guess then? Heuskeal, Bicheon 110, fire 80? ... ofcourse if you're making full Str. Log into game, if you have lv.90 character, and try hitting anything with different level imbues if you dont belive these screenshots. I still think that Hybrid for chinese is way to go, but people are really afraid to experiment, since it takes a while to get to cap. My idea is that someone should make somekind of emulator, with capped characters, and we can experiment there. My head hurts like hell, but I'll follow what you guys type ... P.S. can someone post that 70:70 hybrid spear guy with Force, that raped totally anything?. Force will get more effective at lv.100, when holyword will be nerfed. Oh and btw, someone told (I think NuclearSilo), and he even posted proof, that the game is so perfectly made, that no matter whats your magical or physical balance, with same gear, and same weapon, you will crit the same amount. Remember D2A? Did he make a Hybrid bower, and was really really successful? iGod wrote: You won't kill bladers, unless they have shit gear, you wont tank glaivers without snowshield, pvping warriors will suck, even with ice imbue max etc. Stick to pure imo.
Just saying because I have a 90 s/s 1:8 Arent you 90 Ice/Fire/Light? Ofcourse you'll suck for 1v1 in PvP... Bicheon skills / Heuskeal are too great for pvp.

Nitro wrote: Remember D2A? Did he make a Hybrid bower, and was really really successful? D2A was hardly a hybrid, i calculated his naked str bal based on his screenshot at lvl 87 of the char having ~92% str bal naked. although those tests arent that suprising, the idea u suggested of dual weps at caps with lvl 1 imbue doesnt sound too bad...

Having a str character is about having the most hit points possible and doing the biggest crits possible because there the killers.
The more str the bigger crits simple as that, if you add int your gimping your str characters critical damage. Spear hybrids are the weakest they have ever been this cap.
And please dont even think about making a s/s str int hybrid....
jesus christ, you will all figure it out one day.

jesus christ, you will all figure it out one day. full str bladers/bowman rely too much on crits to win a pvp...for both weps...a hybrid build would be better...

Hybrids lack the ability to adapt to every situation because they rely on to many skills. At later caps it only gets worse..

lolwut.
My old s/s nuker wasn't even near capped and I could kill people 3-4 levels above me that were FF'd on a 0gap, lol. I was slightly hybrid, barely barely barely. As in maybe 8 levels of str. I did the same damage as pure ints, if not more (depending on their weps), and I could tank alot better then them.
Put it this way, at 80 cap, I was 72 and I could tank a level 80 of almost any other chinese (except capped farmed nukers with +7 or better). At 90 cap, when I was 78 I was tanking 82-'s.

Hmmm... We all know now int hybrids are good/excellent builds if u know how to play. Why? Well nukes + phy att (especially bicheon chains -> status errors) And 2 minutes of "god" with snow shield.
The phy att based chars only have their chains/phy attacks. Now u gotta wonder, are str chars able to go hybrid?
Cuz, well, in order to get a pretty decent increase in damage from your imbue, 30 int is a minimum to add. And let's not forget, now we have 3 full masteries and 30 "rest". So str hybrid with fire/xxx & light 72(90) light, 48(30) cold, is a very decent build. But when higher cap comes, u'll have to start cut in those too. Or are u gonna let fire drop a bit? Lowering imbue?
And 100+ cap means only 2 full masteries... So force users will keep xxx + force & fire 80/60/40/20 And in this case, being a str hybrid wil be very shitty...
IMO, blade -> full str > hybrid str glavie -> full str > hybrid str bow -> full str <= hybrid str
ALSO, u people shouldn't start making assumptions based on 2 cases (1 nab bower & 90 blader killing 4 mobs each T_T) Ow and the title : "Proof chinese characters are meant to go hybrid.".. Lol, where is your proof... (imo, the only reason chin have both att powers is cuz of imbue availability)

No, I'm not talking about that... He had a few more str points and he did MORE damage then pure ints and could survive better.

The BEST 80 cap build belonged to liquidsmooth. Anyone remember him? STR hybrid bow, with 80 pach / 80 fire / 70 light / 70 cold (I think he changed to 80 light / 60 cold later, can't remember exactly). Absolutelly raped anything: crit just as high as pure STR (as was shown in the highest damage contest, and in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9_MZ_WKk_E ... you can compare that to any sun bower like Sir_Tristan or ___Jv___), had higher non-crit damage, and could tank excellently with 17k HP (3k less than an average pure STR), arrow combo and 30% snow shield. Unfortunately, it's hard to go hybrid at this cap, because you lose precious masteries. 90 fire / 90 weapon / 60 light / 60 cold is an alternative, that might still work decently. At 100 cap, you'd have to drop either light or cold to 40, which makes the respective tree pretty ineffective. But I agree with Nitro and the topic starter here: chinese characters ARE meant to go hybrid, it's just that, the higher the cap rises, the harder it is to be a hybrid.
