Well your must haves bring me to 2handed sword, which does decent damage, is a good tanker.

But afaik there are no classes that lvl faster than mages and are still tankers and stuff.

Chinese nuker with cold/wep tree (bicheon)
Rogue with sub cleric
Tank/Cleric or Lock (i prefer cleric)

almost every build has its ups and downs...no build is perfect...play a bit figure out your style of play and reroll if you have to into a build that fits your style.

Every build has pros and cons.

Full str xbow/1 handed sword is the fastest leveller I know, faster than a wizzard/cleric. xbow pawns in trades, and warrior are good in PVP. A big con are the bolts, if you can't afford a little bit of silk for the 10k bolts your inventory will always be full.

chinese sword/shield nukers are able to tank fairly well as int hybrids with snow shield and deal decent damage.

I would go either euro STR Rogue/Cleric or chinese STR Glavier. They both god survival and good attacks. Also chinese INT Nuker with Sword/Shield is cool.

Yes put all points you gain from leveling up on STR (red bar). And use both daggers and xbow. Cost more SP but is really good :)

rogue is close to what he's saying, with good gear can easily take on giants their level and a few higher they can 1 shot things their level or 2 shot things a a few higher after you get to level 20 if you keep an average of a +3 crossbow.

Rogues do really well in theiving and pretty good in pvp the biggest threats will be warriors and chinese bladers all the rest you can handle fairly easily, use cross bow to kill int based enemeies that don't have a sheild and daggers to kill strength based enemies and those with shields

for a sub class thats your own preference if you prefer speed (sub bard), extra survivability (cleric), debuff/ disable your opponents (warlock), or versatility (warrior alternate class, extra tanking power for when you are out numbered or want to be able to switch it up a bit for some fun)

So Rogue/Cleric would be best to level up as melee ? or 2h Warrior/Cleric ?

the sub class is your preferance but try it and see what you think
i for one hated rogue cleric but loved rogue bard, i couldn't stand playing a slow rogue, but the rogue cleric has the advantage in straight up pvp

its better good at pve cause the speed its good at jobbing if you use the speed intellagantly and the noise lets you go back into stealth in aggressive mob areas because you wont' get attacked and the 20 seconds at the end of combat expire alot faster so you can restealth and hit the trade again, if you like hit and run it can be just as devistating

Rogue/Cleric.
They do great damage, able to survive and tank to a certain degree if you have good gear, great at PVP and thiefing.

The only cons is that leveling can be slow if you don't have a bard sub. Bard doesn't offer anything for PVP, but it makes leveling a little faster.

true bard doesn't directly add much into pvp but the noise is damn helpfull for theiving, and at lvl 90 you get 110% swing march faster then drug of typhoon by 10%, but hey can't talk me into sub cleric and i doubt i'd be able to talk pocketsunshine into sub bard, just goes to show you gota decide for yourself

if you like to stand and fight cleric is for you
if you like to hit hard and fast and run and come back for another attackin 20 seconds then bard is for you in my opinion more fun but it takes more stratagy to use effectivly cause you lack the extra defense and hp regain

it depends on how you want to play it both are decent fun though

glaive is pretty good overall. Does well in pvp/pve and has pretty good damage and survivability. s/s nuke is also a pretty good choice. even tho it's full int, with snow shield u can survive pretty well and dish out good damage.

*EDIT I'm from sydney too :D

Pure Strength Blader is considered by some as the "best" end game build. <<< is this true ? for PvE and PvP ?

There is no "best" build all players would take that one. It depends a lot of what you like. :D

Bladers have an excellent defense but low attack and the build is very long to level up. You need 3 or more attacks when another player kills the mob in 1 hit so it takes much more time to level the build up. Bladers also suffer a lot from being KS'ed by bots, it's really frustrating, and it adds more time to level up. And they have lots of books to learn, more than glavie or bow, adding again more time to level the build decently up.

If you are new in game and want to have fun I would suggest a rogue. They have a lot of HP, have funny skills, and are very good as thief. If you join a guild you will meet other builds in there and learn how they are in game. You can start 4 different characters on the same login name allowing you to use the same storage. So if you want to try another build just make one, if you don't like it you delete it.

blader

pro: excellent tanking, cool moves, and really good pvp, fast attacks/ combos
cons: leveling slow, close range (with the exception of the soul cut moves), low damage

rogue/bard

pros: semi tanking power, cool moves, very high damage, very good range, can switch between crossbow and daggers for faster combos or more range depending what you neeed, and can switch between damage dealers or semi tanks at will, very fast movement, and noise (meaning aggresive mobs champs and gianst excluded wont' be aggressive with this buff on), really good pvp
cons: lower defense then the blader even with crossbow extreme or dagger desperate off, 15 second potion delay, only a semi tank, with crossbow extreme and dagger desperate on you can die very easily

but trust me crossbow rogue only is only half a rogue you'll want those daggers

i guess blader would be easier since you don't have to be as careful with them, though bladers might be harder in a sense of figuring out what masteries you want where as rogue bard is pretty straight foward

with bladers you kinda have more options on how to make your build

look around for some blader guides and you should get a pretty good idea what you want out of your build

if you'd rather have more buffs for yourself or get the force tree loose out on speed and other buff but gain debuffs and heals and the power to reseruct a team mate
