Are you in need of an antivirus but don't have any money for one?

There's this offer that gives out McAfee 2009 for free.
McAfee VirusScan Plus 2009 cost about $40 but you can download this software for free here:

http://us.mcafee.com/root/campaign.asp?cid=53347

and by entering the coupon code VSPPROMOCF and click checkout.

After that you will need to register an account consisting of name and email and then you'll be able to download it.

This offer is valid till December, 31 2008.

I hope this is useful.

From personal experience and other reviews, Norton is probably THE WORST antivirus in great part because of its hog on system resources.
I would choose McAfee over Norton anytime.(despite the fact that im using comodo internet security lol)

LOL, my friend just got a PC (He's clueless with them) and was like I'm going to get Norton Antivirus put in, when I had my old PC it was the best around. I laughed so hard.

i prefer to not use big named antiviruses like McAfee and norton simply because there so popular, virus makers would want to make viruses that are capable of bypassing them easily.
AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

norton 2002 rolls kids

It has the same anti virus capabilities are the new version, but it makes up for where norton has fallen apart. It takes up next to no resources and is nothing but basics. It doesn't hog down your system because it was made 7 years ago.

i think i still have a copy of my Symantec Norton AntiVirus 98 lying around somewhere in the attic lol maybe it'd use no resources now when loaded on a modern machine.

hmm i have had mcafee installed on my comp ever since i got it (2005). so the version is pretty old but i hate it. i dont know how it compares to other virus protection programs, but i dont like mcafee at all. and in terms of protecting my computer, it's other programs that make the difference for me.

I thought McAfee was alright. It certainly won't remove everything since it doesnt have many features as other products do.

Try using Comodo Internet Security. It has an antivirus, which only gets better everyday, a firewall, which is the best in the market, and a proactive security feature called Defense+ which is one of the best HIPS(Host Intrusion Prevention System) out in the market that acts as an antimalware that doesn't rely so much on signatures.

Oh, and best of all, it's completely FREE, for life.

Check it out: http://www.comodo.com/

Actually, I tried Norton '09. And it actually has very small resource needs. I used to dislike norton too but '09 isn't that bad
