Any thoughts?

I was sooo sceptical about the whole avatar system they were going to introduce, but it turned out so nice! I love how you can customize it with all the cute clothes and accessories! *giggles*

The menu itself is pretty confusing still, I'm so used to the old that I keep on getting lost. I can't access any stuff from the marketplace either, anyone has the same problem?

Yeah, same problem with the marketplace stuff. Took me about 5 tries to buy a theme - I'm guessing they'll have it fixed soon though.

Overall, I like it. The netflix feature, new layout, group chat/party system, and the ability to download games to your HDD (even though mine is too small for something like that) all seems promising.

Same! I was checking at prices for a HDD with a greater capacity, but it's really expensive. :\ See how long I can keep this one before it's completely stuffed.

was hoping for a classic theme cus its not bad but i do prefer the old style a lot more, seemed cleaner and less cluttered so was easy to use

Thats probably because most players on Halo3 online are actually stupid and gay.

Hahaha that avatar is so cool! Your profile had me laughing, charming indeed.

I was thinking, this update allows you to plant your games on the HDD, which is nice (if you have the space), it's more silent if the 360 doesn't have to use the drive, maybe it won't get as warm then, but won't people buy a game, ditch it on the HDD, play it from there and return the game to the store? I don't know if you guys get your money back when you return it, or have to exchange for another game, but won't the gamecompanies lose money if people were to do this?

If that's the case, won't people buy a game, ditch it in the HDD and return it the same day? Or am I missing something crucial here?
Where I live, you can only trade the game for another one within 24 hours, and you won't get your money back.

Was thinking the same thing.

Monday: Buy a game, put it on your hdd
Tuesday: Return the game, trade it for another, same story
Wednesday: Repeat the cycle
Thursday: And again

etc etc :D But if you do it like twice they'll already get suspicious hehe xD

I'll get a pic of mine later today I think :)

/Edit: Here's mine, bit blurry but it's from my phone :( You two used a camera?

Surely you have to insert the disc to start up the game, then it just reads the data from the hard drive.

I'm sure there is something in place to stop people from doing that RuYi :P

Yup yup, pretty sure you have to have the disc in to run it from the HDD. It does the initial check, and then loads everything from the HDD.

97% sure

Oh I didn't think of that before lol, they probably got that feature to prevent everyone from running back and forth to the store.

Gamespot wrote an article before the new patch was released on the loading time improvements. It's only a couple of seconds, but since I play the same two games I did it - the sound reduction is nice. They said that you needed the disk in to run a game too.

I just started playing my xbox more than my PC and it's a pain in the ass always having to swap CDs - I wish there was a way around this.

I was doubting the avatar thing and just labeling it as a cheap ripoff to Wii's Mii. But its pretty sweeeet.

Kinda blurry, phone camera.
