I'm just wondering, as I'm starting up again.
Going to play a warrior, with 1h, and I'd most definately not want to farm the first char, just play it and gain some gold and items for characters to come.

Do i really need a subclass?

Not really.
If you do daily party play(like euro's are meant to be) then you don't need one, if you want to solo a bit, or do solo pvp, get a sub

Lol for a warrior, cleric or bard will become usefull for things like recovery division and moving march. If you dont really want a subclass why not get two? (like you could get 90 warrior 45 bard 45 cleric and get most the buffs you will need without spending too much sp)

hard to kill if they know you are there and know how to play their build, must win by surprise with builds like rogue/wiz or nukers, or well any int.

They can bless/ skin and they have recovery division going the whole time, and if they need a bit of boost they can healing cycle themselves bind you and switch back deal extra dmg

But sub's are needed persay but they sure as hell help, builds like a pure bard can handle its own in any situtation on par with a chinese nuker, with moving march noise, and tambour while solo, can take on giants with vigors and good set. Pure wiz (thats just death unless you got a party) pure warlock can hold its own but sub cleric really makes it alot better. Rogue is good enough alone but it really shines in jobbing if you give it a sub class.

If you want the best unsubed euro go full bard (just play with soundfx off) parties will want you if you can find on, you can actually hold your own in pvp better then one might think. With an sp ticket you can 0 gap full farmed

Well, most likely I'll go for cleric later on.
I like the whole paladin-ish feel to that. :p

Don't wanna farm much? Bard. Especially with 1H as main weapon. Swing March, Noise and Bind are enough to make a 1H a complete build. Of course you can also go the extra step and get Bard Party skills which give you 2 options for parties and make you well rounded. Rogue, Cleric and Warlock are the only other choices that are great but you should definitely consider Bard or Cleric before any of the others.

Now were talking about 1vs1 pvp, then, a sub is needed.
