Well i've just discovered that i'll be using this in my Communications Tech class; so I thought I might wanna get to know it a bit better. Anybody who has used this program before (I know Master Wong has  ) could you please explain like the basics and things for me?

Things like..
-Whats it for?
-Is it difficult to get good at?
-What kind of things could I do with this
etc. etc. etc.

All help is appreciated :D

It's primarily used for 3D modeling. You can take that pretty far. From modeling a fish, to building and decorating an entire house, where you can also monitor all the lighting etc.

3D movies, bla, everything.

Now can all this be animated or is it a still view but still 3D? Like could I create a room and then change my camera to go inside it and view around?

Is it complicated? Like would I have to edit things frame by frame?

You can select multiple frames, though frame by frame is more my choice.

Studio max is a bit complicated. Animating can be done in a rly simple way, with a moderate result. Or the hard way, abusing several different functions, getting the great result.

I had to use it @ school, built a neighboorhoud thing with a classmate. I'll ask him if he's still got it.

I found 3DS Max too hard to use for me, so I switched to Cinema4D
