all perseus and Guthix want to know is,......
Why did you wait till now to bring it up.? They see it the same as I do. You say this is something that should be corrected. Which I do agree with wholeheartedly. It's just Over 80% of Avalon has an alt that was powerfarmed/leveled, so why bring it up now. Why not say you disagreed with it back then. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to bring up a problem in the party system, when you yourself has used it to plvl a character.
^^^Thats what I think they mean, just give them an answer. btw dont say im flaming or harrassing anyone as i have powerlevel/powerfarmed characters as well. But if this gets fixed Ill even delete my blader with 400k sp and reroll.

We cant treat powerleveling like its not legit because its not unlegit. You cant call it botting or anything like that when its not.
and Fly isnt whining about anything Guthix, quit being a retard. I know you recently left Avalon and all, but that doesnt mean you go all stupid. You are shredding what little respect I had left for you.
Quit trying to personalize this issue, all of you. It's not about FLY, AVALON, VENUS, BHA, or the price of eggs in China. If you would like to argue against his reasons, do it, but stop saying its about Fly personally, it isnt. We realize that life without PLing will be harder on some people and greatly cramp some people's style but others think it will really improve the situations we are facing on Venus and on other servers. The lower levels, 20-50 get hurt the most from lack of party members because after that PLing becomes expensive and rare. Most of you arguing are either over that or in a big enough union. All of us have lost many, many guild members to bot PLing which also thins out the lower level ranks.
Overall we think it will make the community healthier. There isnt a way to curb a legal action ingame the way we are trying to curb botting. Its a built in function and only JM can fix it.

has anybody thought of this possibility:
maybe(just maybe) the reason Fly "waited til now to bring this up" is because .... he just found this out? *GASP* no way! i mean, come on, everybody knows that Fly knows everything and has just been hiding this from all of us. Fly, how could you!? i'm hurt! i'm shocked! i'm downright horrified!!!
by the way, anybody know the price of eggs in china right now? i need a couple dozen for a bake sale.

I lied in my last post--THIS is my final say in this topic:
I heard Corrupt hit lvl 80 in 2 months, and that he was silkless. I'll use his time as the "average" time it took Fly and Co. to hit lvl 80 too. Venus opened around last November, and this is July. I'm assuming most of you guys hit the cap lvl by late January, or close to it anyway. By February, you guys were fully capable of powerleveling people. Assuming you didn't start powerleveling around level 60 (which is the normal time people start powerleveling others), you still had days between February until yesterday.
That's 5 potential months of powerleveling and powerfarming. With no complaints.
And now you guys turn around and say how much it's "unfair" and it's a "bug" etc. etc.
If you guys are gonna argue that powerleveling is a bug, then what you have been doing for (atleast) the past 5 months is nothing but exploiting a bug. If you have problems with botting and gold-buying, both which you guys agree are "unfair advantages" for people, then I don't see why bug exploitation wasn't a problem in this past. You even labeled BHA to be "allied with bots" just for trying to win the FW. If trying to take a FW makes a legit union "bot allies" in your eyes, then continuous exploitation (especially for atleats 5 months straight) of a bug (if you do indeed consider powerleveling a bug) is not legit either.
From my point of view (and Guthix's point of view), it seems that after 5 months of powerleveling your alts/your friends/your friends' alts non-stop, you have finally gotten bored and are trying to find a way to sweep this issue under a rug.
Remember, my arguments are not about whether powerleveling is good or bad (I already agree that powerleveling is bad). My main point is: "Why now? Why not earlier?"
You still haven't given me a direct answer on this issue.
Fly has already proven to me that he's a hypocrite. I'm done arguing here.
You guys in Venus have fun.
Edit: Just clarifying stuff for others out there--
-when I say 5 months of potential powerleveling, I meant that Fly and Co. had 5 FULL months to be able to powerlevel someone. I did NOT oversee Avalon's powerleveling sessions with a stopwatch while frapping them (and that would be pointless too, because I would probably still get Avalon people whining "you've got no proof.")I know that they could've done something else important in the past 5 months--such as jobbing, PvPing, pimping their gears, taking a crap, posting passionate anti-bot globals, you name it. I'm only giving you the approximate amount of free time they COULD have had to powerlevel others. If they really did powerlevel for 5 full months 24/7, then I'd suspect them for powerbotting.

Powerleveling non-stop? Do you have evidence of this or are you just assuming that's what has happened? The policy on powerleveling has always been that it is bad and shouldn't happen after level 30, but powerleveling a new player to 30 if they're a euro is ok because it allows them to party, but even still I'll see a "Free legit plvl at x mob" in party match maybe once every 3 weeks. Hardly "non-stop powerleveling".

Well imo powerlvling should stop, but the -5/+5 lvl restricition is a little too strict. -10/+10 would be better imo.

i think it's sad that people just are mentally incapable of accepting the fact that maybe (just maybe) Fly actually wants to HELP. *GASP* that can't be! Fly's just a selfish hypocritical bastard who doesn't care about anybody else so how could he be wanting to help?! Inconceivable!
nobody's answered my questions about the price of eggs in china. damnit people, i need to make like 2.234234 million cupcakes, gimme eggggssssss!!!1!!!eleven

In none of my arguments i said "it is Avalon's fault/Avalon should go to hell", I'm talking about Fly's idea, not Avalon's idea. I have, in no way, disrespected you or Avalon. Ok then it's not Fly but it's Fly who posted this thread isn't it? So I mean, whoever brought out this idea clearly plvled characters and then told others plvl was bad (this is hypocricy) but since Fly put his name on the thread as the one who brought up the idea, I guess it's with fly we are discussing. I agree with stopping the bot taxies of course. But this solution sounds lame imo. Quote: Overall we think it will make the community healthier. There isnt a way to curb a legal action ingame the way we are trying to curb botting. Its a built in function and only JM can fix it.
Ok then you probably remember when I told you this on vent: A way to stop the gold bots forever is to make it so that when you trade items, you are forced to echange items worth the same amount of money. Such as, if I am trading a sword worth 10 million, the other person must give me 10 million or and item worth 10 million. If I want to give 10 million to someone, the other person must give me 10 million or something worth that much. This way, the gold bots couldn't give money to their player or whoever controls them. This method was used on runescape and proved 100% efficient against botters, leaving not one single gold bot in the game. But yet you answered "yes, but what if I wanted to give money to a friend for free?" <-- exactly.
I actually think the same for your idea. What if I wanted to pfarm one of my characters, or if I wanted to pfarm someone else? When you pfarmed your characters, you didn't mind thinking if it was a glitch or not, and I'm not gonna tell anything wrong to you for doing it, but why would you have the right to do it, and then tell others it's a glitch and it should be corrected? Maybe it's a glitch, I don't see any evident proof on how it is a glitch, JM's english sucks. But it's been there since ever, I don't know why people who play atm should stop doing it when so mnay people in the past had the right to do it. Hope my point is clear now. EDIT: one more thing, for those asking for some good proof: NoPantsOn = Spanktastik's alt There you go for "proof on how avalon chars got plvl"

I'm loling so hard at this thread. Quote: Ok then it's not Fly but it's Fly who posted this thread isn't it? So I mean, whoever brought out this idea clearly plvled characters and then told others plvl was bad (this is hypocricy) but since Fly put his name on the thread as the one who brought up the idea, I guess it's with fly we are discussing. Okay. Fly hasn't told anyone to stop power-leveling. He made this thread asking for help sending in bug-reports. That is All. ITT, we prepare massive bug reports. Quote: I actually think the same for your idea. What if I wanted to pfarm one of my characters, or if I wanted to pfarm someone else? Because it is a glitch and should be corrected. Do people ignore my post?? Quote: Maybe it's a glitch, I don't see any evident proof on how it is a glitch, JM's english sucks. Lol, the English on the teaser site and the English on the official site is pretty good now. People didn't power-level/farm before Europe. It was all done by hands. OMG, Spanktastic had a character that was power-leveled. OMG

lol. i hit 80 cap 2 days before it went to 90. Perseus, ur just as big of a dumbass as Guthix. 1st off, i hate powerleveling. i would not do it unless i was plvling someone i really like. and by really like i mean only nightbloom. i would not plvl anyone else. even if they paid me to do it. Guthix, it would be very hypocritical of me to not kill you in game then spawn camp you over and over. I mean, i dont like you, and if i did NOT spawn camp your dead body, i would be saying 1 thing but doing another, soooo hypocritial. So expect Avalon to treat you like shit from now on. idc, if i got offered plvl from anyone in my union, i'll take it.
1. I don't have time to keep up with the ppl i'd like to play with. 2. I know my character, i know how to party, im an expert on my build. 3. Im a Rogue, its hard to find parties, no im not changing my build and no im not going to increase my Cleric sub cause i need sp for that and i can't get SP without getting into parties, see the cycle.
im not a noob at this game. Im against powerlvling cause it makes victims of ppl and they don't know what the hell they're doing and if i get the chance to party with them its like teaching them how ot play the game all over again, i should never have to tell someone how to do their job and make sure no one has to tell me how to do mine. That being said i see nothing wrong with getting a much needed boost every now and again, i planned on Plvling a blader once i got my rogue high enough and i don't see why that should be a problem. If im bored and someones alone and can't find a pt and i feel like helping him out with a plvl i don't see a problem with that.
Plvling is not a problem that affects the experienced legit community, it only makes them stronger, faster. If there is a problem with it it comes from inexperienced lower lvls and thats not my problem, that comes from ppl being spoiled which never happened in my guild.

Seriously fly, if you are so sure about what you are doing and so sure about sending your freaking bug report, then why don't you send it now? Wow, you come on SRF and start a thread to discuss it when you actually don't give a shit about people's opinions, why make a thread to discuss it if you don't wanna listen to what people think? These were your replys to my arguments: Quote: you are officially a moron Quote: holy f*k this thread is full of winners Quote: t looks like ur arguing just to argue Quote: So expect Avalon to treat you like shit from now on. Quote: morons these days... Dude if you don't wanna be called hypocrit then don't act like one in the first place. Secondly, the "expect avalon to thread you like shit"... when are you gonna grow up? Just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean you need to attack on people. Besides, I quit venus, so yea there you go, self-pwnt, again. With you it's always the same BS. With BHA, you act hypocrit, they turn their back on you, you call them bot-supporters for that and tell avalon people to go hunt them down. With people who don't agree with you on this discussion, you do the same, act hypocrit then when you manage to make them turn their back on you you go hunt them down. You can't have the whole world agreeing with you, we're all free to think, build a bridge and get over it. Grow up already. That was my last post on this thread, no point with discussing with you Fly, you don't give a shit about what other people think and you think that you're right no matter what. You didn't reply to 1 single crucial argument of mine, just keep going off topic. Learn how to debate and then i'll discuss this further on with you. cya.

Christ, from now on every time Fly has a good idea I vote he gets someone else to tell the forums so we can avoid multiple pages of people arguing just for the sake of it.
EXAMPLE TIME A long time ago there was a bug where the first book of the Heuksal series Fanning Spear sp requirements changed, so that Lvl 1 cost 7 sp, Lvl 2 cost 10 sp etc (the skills cost the mastery level in sp). Result? I fully mastered the 1st book for 282 sp. It was eventually fixed, and to max it now would cost 1000 sp more than it cost me. By your logic it should have been kept like it was while it was bugged because it's unfair to the people who have to use more sp for it now, whereas what should happen is that bugs are fixed and if you managed to make use of it while it was there then hooray, you profit! But if you couldn't then that's your problem. Life is unfair. Deal with it.

But if you couldn't then that's your problem. Life is unfair. Deal with it. It's the human nature Apri.. Just enjoy observing like I do... It feels good..

Powerlvl is a mob, when someone joins the party and is way higher than everyone else the exp is reduced but Joymax fails and its not reduced very much. Also I'm a hypotcrit my bard is lvl 42 and hasn't killed a mob since lvl 11 but that doesn't mean I think it should have been this way, honestly I had no choice but to be powerlvl'd when there is no one to party with and bard sucks at solo not to mention that there are 0 items in stall network until 7D in sparta. I sent a bug report also you should move this to general discussion so it will get more views it doesn't really make sense that its in the venus forum when it affects all of SRO

Stop arguing over avalon, ITS NOT A FARKING AVALON TOPIC. Kay. I'm going to attempt to type this in the plainest english possible. Avalon plvl's some alts, HOWEVER, THAT DOES NOT MEAN, that some of them don't think it should not be removed from the game. Thats like someone Farking saying that they don't like the job system, and so they're not going to go jobbing anymore. Your still going to do it, even though you may think some changes need to be done to it. Quote: go to the europe teaser (if its still up). thats where it said about pting with -/+5 lvls thingy. i doubt it would take a year for someone to find it out... Who actually reads the ENTIRE thing? Very very few people. Probably nobody even thought about it. @Baro, I think next time someone brings up this stupid ass "avalons hyprocrits" crap just lock it, this topic had absolutely NOTHING to do anything with avalon.

Guthix, you ungrateful wretch, I cant believe you are trying to make Spanky look like he was bot PLed. That is just so rich. Spank would put his alt in a party and just go to bed. When the party disbanded, he'd get killed and just lay there till he came back after work. ANYONE who knows Spank knows that he really hates bots and I dont think ANYONE in either union would accept the accusation you are trying to make.
Let me make this really big and clear:
NO ONE IN AVALON EVER SAID THAT NO ONE IN AVALON EVER HAD AN ALT THAT WAS POWERLEVELED!!!!!!
Is that clear enough? Does everyone get it and over it?
