I think both cleric and bard would work fine

If you mainly solo Bard will be OK... if u Job, PvP, Party or do FW then Cleric is optimal. DA can tank a bit better then 2H but not so much that the lack of Cleric sub wouldnt be missed, imo..

I'd say bard. Had a 3x-ish dual axe with no sub. Later on I added bard sub and it was truly great 'cause I mainly did solo.

all warriors should be cleric/warlock sub imo.
bard is a lameass sub for STR. just buy a speed pot, you can tank enough where you dont need noise.
warrior + cleric + hp/vigor grains = almost never dies.
Axes have lots of stun and bleed, with a high crit axe you can dish out some good combo damage. Take cleric imo, warlock is optimal for 1H due to the shield. I like cleric warrior mainly for bless/self healing/ healing over time/ immunity, since warlock is a damage increasing build and axes don't need the dmg increase if you combo your skills correctly. You might want to add 2hand later on for massive dmg when you need it. You can just add the passives/ maddening+daredevil, switch to 2h- use DD or maddening-switch back to axe fast stun bleed switch maddening/DD and crit = GG
