Nice, nice. I'm working on economy right now instead of science or anything else. My reasoning (and question was this).
Say you had a gyro with an attack of 100 and a defense of 100. (Those probably aren't the real values. It's just an example). And then you had two 50/50 archers. Would the both be equal?

Lets find out.
Ok, I ran a battle sim of 2 archers with silver upgrades V 1 Gyro with no upgrades, and assumed there was no town hall and no town wall, so pur unit V unit:
2x Archer (with silver upgrades) = Offensive 120, Defensive 120, Endurance 24 1x Gyro = Offensive 112, Defensive 112, Endurance 12
In rd 1, all 3 units die and the battle is a draw (every time the sim is run)
If the archers have gold upgrades, its 140/140, rather than 120/120, and again, the battle is a draw everytime
So i guess so Fena yeah. But the way i look at it, you'll never had pure unit V unit, youll use mixed combat. mixing in some gyros with an attack force of archers/gunsmen/swords will be :d

No, what I mean is this: I'm going up to the economy tree right now. I could definitely research military if I wanted to. But I figured that instead of researching military, I could just make more archers instead of building gyros and steam giants and whatever else - provided that they're in overwhelming numbers, heh.

Why have a hundred steam giants if you can have two thousand archers?

Trice wrote: fena wrote: Why have a hundred steam giants if you can have two thousand archers? upkeep + replacement cost + population used. Ooooh, the population. Yeah, I totally forgot about that. That's probably the most important thing, since with a big army you can pillage out the upkeep and replacement cost anyway. The only thing you can't pillage is the population.

adorable wrote: Gemini wrote: how do you get into vacation mode? i think vacation mean banned* No, vacation mode doesn't mean banned, lol. Go to your options at the top. It says... Quote: Here you can activate the vacation mode if no fleets or armies are on their way to or from your towns. Your player´s account will not be deleted if you are inactive for too long and your towns can´t be attacked. Your workers and scientists, though, are on vacation themselves and won´t work. In order to prevent abuse of the vacation mode, your vacation mode must take at least 48 hours. In this time you can´t play Ikariam. After two days your vacation mode ends automatically when you log on to the game the next time.
