The guide looks great. I'd like to out that ice immunity is possible with book 2 fire shield as well. Hope I'm not mistaken, though.

38 from lvl 28 fire shield. And at 8d you can get 20% max blue (or 25%)..So if you have atleast 3 acc's with maxed ice immune you will be immune with lvl 28 fire shield.

Really nice guide :D

1 tip which was also given to me at my guide: don't use colors which are hard to read, like yellow.

You could make it easier to read by putting each section under a spoiler.

v1.1 (5/24/08) - Added an update section, updated information on fire shield, changed one yellow colored section to make it easier to read, changed format to include spoilers for easy section choosing, added more thanks for those whose made me make minor changes, and added a description for ice force tree (caught that one myself XD).

It depends on what skill build you gonna chose. If you chose to get Pach/Force/Fire and 30 Cold or Light then I suggest you pure STR. If you chose Pach/Fire/Light and 30 Cold you can go for pure str, 90%phy. hybrid or whatever you think it's right.
If you chose to be pure str you'll rely on the high crits. The hybrid will have more constant damage (higher non-crit dmg). So it's your choice :)

I really like that dmg, But would it be a good idea to go fire/light/and 30 ice with hybrid?

Edit: And a Hybrid is like 70:70 right? Or is there others?

Do you mean "90 Pacheon / 90 Fire / 90 Light / 30 Cold" :?
If so, YES, it's a good idea. 8)

70:70 is INT hybrid (you have more INT than STR). if you want STR hybrid I suggest you to go for 90& phy. balance naked.
Go here and calculate how much STR/INT you need for either 70:70 or 90% phy. balance.

Good luck. :D

Idea:

90 pacheon
90 light
90 force
30 cold.

80 physical : 64 magical STR hybrid. Gets some bonus damage from maxed light (piercing force) compared to full STR with maxed light.

Division + Parry Ratio lowering from Thunder Imbue (the imbue effect applies a split second before the shot hits, so it doesn't have time to be cured by pills instantly. I've seen that in a screenshot. The mangyang he crit on already had an electric shock when the arrow hit) + Parry ratio lowering from vital spot + Attack rating increase from hawk (and passive) + Attack rating increase with demon arrow + crit =

Thoughts?

this IS the ultimate bow guide :D. *2 thumbs up*

btw i think u should add some pics, and some videos of each kind of bow build (maybe u put some in but i guess i didnt see it with all of the spoilers O.o).

i have been thinking of making a 70:70 bow man, but i dont like the fact that i will have to raise atleast 3 masteries at the same time (because i dont like to farm xD). do u think i will be able to get to 64+ raising pacheon, fire and lightning in a 2 level gap?

nice guide again :D

an interesting idea. i suppose u could go that way, but remember youre still a STR build and your main attacks r STR based, so fire would probably give u more dmg than light even if youre a hybrid. fire passive + flame body is about equal to force piercing force, so the only thing that determines which u bennefit more from is your build which is again STR. i did like the idea of using the light imbue with the debuffs, but thats really only effective in pve. most ppl at higher lvls r immune ither from fire shield + jewlery or from cleric buffs, and even if they arent immune and theyre using pills the status effect will b gone b4 u launch your attacks. now we suppose they arent using pills and they arent immune, yea that would help u hit near your higher dmg range, but how often does that actually happen?
try it with bow/fire/force @ 90 and light @ 30 and use the light imbue for the debuffs, as suggested, as a higher STR based hybrid or as a pure. since the status effect chance stays the same it could help a bit, but also force already has a parry ratio debuff so id rather use ice at 30 using the same imbued debuff concept to try to freeze them (or maybe burn if ice immune).

my verdict: i wouldnt do it, nor would i encourage it.

well, thnx for reading it 8)
i suppose ill try to get some pics for it when i think about it, but i dont usually think to screenshot things in pvp, and the only screenshots i have of damages on monsters are already posted in the damage contest. right now i believe im still the #1 dmg in 5X and 8X hybrids on mike2007.
it is possible to 2 gap with 3 masteries, but i only know of 1 way. i 2 gapped from 58 to 73 with gold premium & gold sp tickets with bow/fire/light masteries. i managed to keep every skill i wanted fully farmed the entire way, including all buffs, all bow attacks except autumn wind, all passives and my imbue however, i was also spending the sp as soon as i got it. i don't know if its possible with just an sp ticket or if its possible with premium+ and an sp ticket or anything other combination of tickets or even without them at all.
if know what you'll be doing ticket wise go to nivlam.com figure how much sp u need and then figure out how much sp you'll get by doing a 2 gap and multiply it by the total ticket rate (if any) for sp exp

thnx for the reply :).
well, i wont be buying any silk, so i guess i will raise ice to 20, then get lightning and pacheon in a 2 lvl gap (i have to chack thart in nivlam.)

another question: some people in the forums have said that 70:70 bowman isnt gonna be good for 90 cap. though i havent gotten a good explanation. wat do u think? im still lvl 5 (slow lvling ftl), so i can change to a str hybrid (maybe 90%) asap.

thnx.

imo 70:70 requires a lot more defense than higher STR based builds and pures, therefore they have a need for a high ice mastery. at 90 cap we have room for 3 masteries at 90 and 1 at 30. so if you have a high ice mastery however, you'll be forced to dlvl ither light or fire. nither is a good choice because u need the phys damage cus ur u have str and u need mag dmg since u have int. 80 cap worked ok because u had 3 masteries at 80 and 1 at 60 or 2 at 80 and 2 at 70, which wasnt a whole lot to sacrifice for the last mastery. 70:70 builds NEED 4 masteries.
my verdict: 70:70 is out

hmm im still lvl 10 (slow lvling ftl), u think i could make it to 90% str hybrid? also, i guess i should lvl fire (90), lightning (90), cold(30) and pacheon (90)? cause since i still have a lot of physical defence and hp, u think this might work?

thnx for the replies so far :)

Yes, you are so damn right! 90Pach/90Fire/90Light/30Cold is the way to go. 90% hybrid ftw! :D

P.S. I suggest you to put all the INT you need at the lower levels. You'll grind faster. 1-13 lvl = all STR/ 13-28 all INT / 29 1 INT-2STR / 29-90 all STR that's what I did. :D

yea, thats another thing about hybrids that i love. you can tweak ur build here and there whenever u feel like it. up until 40 mike2007 was pure, to 46 he was aimin for 95% phys and after that i went 90% phys. depending on what u want to do just put it more points of str or int until u finally get there.
as for what lumpish said; lvling will b easier with more int at lower lvls so if u wanna add it in the beginning go right ahead. however, if u want to keep it at 90% phys the entire way its best to go to a site like http://www.nivlam.com where u can test out your possible balances of every lvl and figure out how many points go where. it made it so much easier on mike2007.
