Cleric full str = fails cause not enough mp
Bard full str = hard cause you got to always have mana cycle on yourself

If you wanted actual nice nukes from Bard i'd go full int..
survivability.. 1:1 hybrid would be cool and light armor and buffs.. you woudln't be dieing much

Bard's do not constantly heal mp, as clerics do not constantly heal hp. There are ever so tiny breaks where bards and clerics do not have to heal for a few seconds because everyone is already full on mp/hp. Those few seconds can be used to cast aoe nukes (booming chord and justice cross for example). Str does not increase the damage of those nukes. Mana Orbit, a lv90 bard skill that works similar to Healing Orbit, consumes around 15.9k mp per cast. Similarly, lv80 Healing Orbit consumes around 5.8k mp per cast. A pure str will not have enough max mp to cast it. As for cleric, group recovery usually consumes 75%-100% of a pure str's mp. Not blessing or healing because of a lack of mp means the party has a much higher chance of dying.

In guild wars, bind and run away. Call a wizard to 1hit them.

My euro char's build was bard/cleric. It's terrible.
Go with another build...

I spent 200 bucks changing cleric out for warlock and I like it a lot better now.

If they're subs, why are clerics and bards always sought for in full euro parties to grind in? As in...they don't grind without a cleric and a bard. That makes them more as main rather than sub doesnt it? Not dealing as much damage as another character doesn't automatically make it a sub. All euros specialize in what they do, and clerics/bards are no different.

My main char is a Bard, sub-class Warlock. She is purely a support char. I have at lvl 70, 67% physical and 79% magical balance. (I am in the process of working on my 8D robe stuff so the balance is a little low on the magical side.) She is not a pure int, nor ever was intended to be. I put stat points to str in the begining so that she would not easily die. I have not put an str to stat points now though since she was in the 40 range. I have enough mp to sustain an entire party and enough hp to be an unbuffed char and not die in one or 2 hits. My feeling is that a bard should not take buffs away from the pt members that need it, and shouldn't be a burden to the pt by dying easily. I have to stay on my toes...make sure I mana cycle myself, use mana switch frequently. I keep my mp set to around 25%, and I don't go thru nearly as much mp. I rarely use her for attacking since she is a support char. For my Warlock, I choose the skills I wanted to use, and I mainly only use it for assisting in guildwars and pvp, or debuffing ptg's as needed.

I also have a lvl 45 pure str rogue with a bard sub-class. When I feel the need to kill stuff, I play on her. lol

Anyways that is my way of playing. There are those that disagree with me, but she has worked out pretty well for the way I like to play. :)

Isn't there a bard skill that converts HP to MP? @_@ Not sure if that might make pure STR bards work...

My char is full str and in our parties im mostly bard and i never run out of mp u just need to know what your doing but a pure str cleric would run out rapidly without a bard in the party (even with a bard in the party its not recommended cus cler rods dont increase your mp like harps do).

But the thing is with pure str bard/cleric that most times you wont heal enough hp/mp in comparance to a build with more int be cause the amount it heals is determined by your magical attack not just the weapons attack even tho it sais Weapon Magical attack power reflect on the skills.

We tested it in our parties and pure int clerics heal much more then pure str ones, mp and for higher survivability

I'd love to see some good bard pvP... Booming chord etc have really low cast times + cool-down times and really nice dmg. When you have like +30-40% absorption your survivability is insane to. Really, i think a bard/cleric would be an unusual PvP'er but really really hard to take down =]

Im currently making my sub-class Bard... Was Pure Cleric, then added some wizard to solo with, don't like it so im gonna add a bard for speed/noise and a couple attack skills =].

Yeh, but she owns x)

And, I think you first want to buff some wizards/warlocks/Warriors/...(you get the point) before killing someone =D
