Well when we had the "don't ask don't tell" policy, we had posts such as...

Quote:
OMG you all KNOW blahblah bots. I gotz videos noobz!!! Mods ban him please?! <insert flame> <insert accusation of mods playing favorites>

In the days of the "don't ask don't tell" policy, we had countless flames against users such as SpiritPower/Blackfox due to closet botting.

Seems no matter how the mod team handles the botting issue on SRF, people will be unhappy. It's ironic that sometimes it's the same people that complain either way.

How is botting playing a game? It's not. And at the same time if your dedicating 6 hours a day to a game, you need some major farking help. Simply don't bot ppl. Play the game when you can to have fun. There's no reason anything that violates the TOS should be allowed here. One of the biggest reason that it's not accepted here. If it wasn't against the TOS, then it will prolly still be frowned upon here because of how much it gives other players an advantage over legit players.

That's what it was and here's an example of a typical post under that policy:

"You legits are just a bunch of whiny-ass bitches. Botters have lives and girlfriends and they like to go to parties and don't just sit in their parents basement all day playing computer games and popping zits. You're just jealous because they're better than you. By the way, I don't bot."

Yeah, SRF was really Farking awesome under that policy. :banghead:

lol. soooo true.

the frig do you care, you made you own farking forum

The whole attitude about this is so wrong....

You wanna talk about what things "used to be like" then you gotta go back further than a few months ago. When most of us who joined in '05 were playing, botters were pariahs. It wasnt a small group of us who hated them, it was EVERYONE and they were a small group. More and more ppl started botting and in order to keep the conflict down, ppl started saying "Lets just pretend its not happening."

That obviously didnt work. Xian and several other servers died in that time. Legits were quitting right and left and SRO WAS DYING. Some of us still love it and want to save it. Its like recycling. Sure, you are doing a small thing, but small things add up. When many ppl do small things, they become big things. Next thing you know, you have social movements and change happening. It had to start somewhere.

Botting is a disease and some of you would have us lay down and die instead of fighting it. Have some respect for what SRF is trying to do. It has not been unsuccessful. It shows the legit community that YES, someone still respects you for doing what is right.

i think its quite funny how people are complaining about SRF banning botters then complain when nothing is done to ban the people who were protected before srf actually started banning bots.... jeez. hypocrites much?

Except people who choose to play the game, ie legits, ie the people that SRF wishes to cater.

I said before that this "war on bots" is a misnomer. It does nothing to the bot population in SRO at all. Its simply a way to feel better about ourselves because most of us dont bot and SRF's way to show that it hates bots. So chill, I doubt the mods intended this in an attempt to discourage people from botting in SRO, they won't stop, you can't stop them. This is just a way to show SRF's position toward bots.

And you can't simply blame that someone is a loser and has no life by botting, but the real problem is Joymax itself. I doubt sylhana or luoma are actual losers in real life. People have fallen onto botting because Joymax is f*cking incompetant at anything. They just want money.

How many people do you think here has the time and money to hindgrind to the cap? Its nearly impossible, its overwhelming, and you feel like you are in an endless desert. When I used to play, at lvl 38, killing a mob would increase my lvl percentage 0.05%. Do you know how discouraging that is? I'm glad that I never spent money on a piece of shit that they call a game and I pity the people that spend loads and loads of money just to level up in a game that is getting worse and worse.

People will resort to botting. It is very ideal, what better way could you enjoy the game without having to spend money or time? Needless to say, it attracts many people, and you can't just blame them for doing that. The game is so bad and such a time and money sucker that botting is the only solution for them to enjoy the game. Even worse, Joymax makes the game so that you can only enjoy the game at a higher lvl. You have to blame joymax as well because they ruined this game and are preventing people from enjoying the game by handgrinding. Don't just think all the people here that bot are stupid people in real life, most of them probably aren't. Just think about it and you'll realize that joymax is a huge problem here.

agreed

omg. How hard is it to understand?

If you bot, or support bots for the online game called Silkroad. You are not welcome on these forums. If found, you will be banned.

END OF STORY. No if, buts or howabouts.

I can agree to that.

If Joymax is so "f*cking incompetant" then why play a game that supports them? :banghead:

Sure I can. I can blame them for cheating.

You state these things as if they are fact. The game can only be enjoyed at a higher level? Not true. Otherwise how do you explain all the legits that enjoy the game? I actually like hand grinding, and many other people do as well. If you don't like playing the game how it's designed, don't play at all. If the game is so bad, and such a time and money sucker, why do you even play? Seriously, if you can't enjoy the game for what it's worth, isn't it time to move on to something else?

i think 3 pages about this is enough.

bottom line is still: who cheats will serve the consequenses. no exceptions.

people that have been banned for these kind of reasons will not be brought back.

oh, and please, do not bring up this topic again later on. everybody said what he/she
wanted to say, rules are still rules, discussion closed. thnx.
