what i started with  where im at  yeah, i know it's big but i don't feel like scaling them down (to lazy). im going to do the eye's tomorrow.

vectoring shapes is simple once you know your way around the pen tool. It gets super hard when it comes to color shade especially to real life pictures.
You did a good job on this. I'd love to see the final product.

I'd love to see the final product. not using photoshop (though i do have it). im using Inkscape which is much better for making vectors. it's somewhat buggy, but it's still a work in progress (opensource too i think) Edit: just did something that may have messed it up (meaning no eyes  )

If you are going to practice I think you should do as kthnxbai says and vector some still life. You might as well do a trial and error thing with those rather then vectoring an anime piece ( a cartoon) because it will teach you pick the right hues of colours rather then picking a solid colour all the way through like you're doing now.
Good job with this piece how ever, keep it up.

Vector is a vector. true, but recreating an already made vector isnt all that good for practice  its way too easy and doesnt require all that time or thinking when u have to trace already made one. Making something from real stuff needs thinking process, gives u ideas about the skin tones and shades, more exp.

well im may not get to finish this one.  it seems to have been made to complex for me computer to handle, which makes no sense with the specs my comp has (i geuss i should of gone with intel  ).
