if the idea of farming is to build up as many SP as possible, should i be leveling up as i go along? whilst keeping the 9 step gap.
For example, at the moment im level 19 and ive got pacheon and fire both at level 10 with everything selected in those levels, should i continue to do this? or should i be doing as little as possible. The only reason i've kept on adding them is to fight harder monsters.

Restart. Or you can get to 20 and then start the cursed hearts quest...collecting hearts, then delvling your skills to lvl 7

how do i go about de-levelling skills?
theres no way i'm restarting, its taken me ages just to get to this point, and to be honest, de-levelling isn't something im fond of either, is it possible to create a reasonably strong character by climbing up the levels whilst maintaining a 9 level gap?

And as you lvl up you have to take the masteries you want to max with you. (1 weapon tree and 2 force trees)

so is there a way for me to de-level my masteries so i can begin de-levelling my character? and even if this is possible, won't i have to kill myself about 200 times? thats gonna take foreverrrrrrrr
or is the best bet to stay at 19 with my masteries at 10, and not go any higher?

To delevel masteries:
Get the curst hearts quest, or buy silk and use the delevel potions.
Delevel yourself: Find a cleric to res you, go out where you shouldn't be, die, res, die, res, die, res...ad nauseum.
edit: personally, I'd suggest doing your SP farming at ongs right now, in conjunction with your deleveling, that way you don't really need to delevel your masteries, only yourself every so often.

No, you won't level that fast with a 9 gap anyway. Just put up a party in the matching system "looking for cleric". Or, if you know one, ask him...what server are you on? I'm a level 51 cleric and it's easy to powerfarm a lower level character and res too

Greetings, I'm a level 18 STR bow character in a similar situation to CupofJavaa with Masteries at level 10 (for killing power). This is my first character so SOx weapon is WAY outta my reach. Somebody mentioned deleveling myself. Question: If I went back to level 16, would I be able to add more STR -or- INT when I gain level (again)? Could I keep wearing my 3rd degree Garmets? What will the expected SP Farming rate at Bandits Den be? Approx. how many SP per hour if I was solo or in a 4 person party? Hershey wrote: the old way of sp farming was, get to lvl 16 keep a 9 gap, get a nice sos+5 bow or better and farm till u hit 18, then delvl to 16 again and repeat this process over and over and over again.
and dont add sp points to ur masteries, keep them at lvl 7
or u can get pfarmed at ongs 2nd Question: Power-Farming sounds good, so I could delevel my skills to create a 9 gap and not worry about deleveling myself? Seems to me that this would involve AutoShare exp Party and me spending a crapload of money to get my tiny butt to level at ongs; please pardon all the questions but the Devil is in the Details... (Like how do I avoid Scammers who would grab my gold and then ban without powerleveling me?) Would it matter much if I was level 20 but still had a 9 gap? Finally, what would the expected SP Farming rate at ongs be (let's say with a lev 60 pure INT doing it)? Approx. how many SP / Hour, please? Last Question: How much is good? I mean, how many Skill points should I shoot for? When I skill-planned my character for MASTERIES from lev 10 to MASTERIES level 30 it looked like I'd need 9.5k SP to fully develop my weap and the non-nuke skills for 3 forces (Weapon, Cold, Fire). Again, pardon me if this is stupid, I'm like an old jahhead who is very much wanting to " be all that I can be". Thank you in advance for your reply.~Grandpa

After reading your posts my suggestion is you forget about farming. Just level with a 3-4gap for the entire game. That is what most people do, only about 15% of people who play farm.

Thank you in advance for your reply.~Grandpa Question 1 no you cant add your stat points again. No you cant wear higher gear. At the bandit den you will gain less sp then at the ongs, but more sp then basically anywhere else if you go solo. Whenever you grind solo you should be in a 4man party each player in the party adds an xp bonus. Question2 you would still have to dlvl. for maximum sp gain. yes you will spend a fortune unless you have some very nice friends. Yes you will get scammed occasionally. I haven't farmed in a long while so I forget the sp rates, can't be more specific. If you can afford a premium and sp ticket GET them. If you are going to be at the den you must have sos+3 or better or just forget it. Oh this sounds like your first character. If i am right then just get like 30k sp and then lvl and enjoy yourself. Or skip farming entirely and lvl with a 3-4gap. Ideally you should aim for around 700k sp. Yes that will take months, that is why 90% of max lvl characters cheated in some way to get there. Edit* in the character and skills section there is a sticky that has a link to a character skill builder page. Enter in the skills, it will tell you how much sp you need. There is also a link to how much sp you get per lvl depending on your gap. Also if this is your first character you don't even know what build you like. I would hate to see you spend 3months farming a character that you end up not liking. Chinese characters don't get all skills till 30+. Euros need lvl 40+.

Yes, this is my first character but I am an avid reader and love research. I've read that it is possible to SP Farm at Bandits Den at a rate of 250 SP / Hour but so far I've only been able to achieve 158 / hour myself (in 4 man party with no tickets) and killing like a maniac at level 18 w/8 Gap. I expect this to go up when I get to level 19 and can 9 Gap there. I have skill planned my Pure STR Bow character and am currently thinking about solo grinding SP until I can find a guild that will love me. As for build? I haven't given much thought beyond level 60 but will want to take Pacheon, Cold and Fire Masteries. I'm planning on increasing my Gap just prior to getting new weapons at level 24, 32 & 42 then grinding at Hyungo Highlands, Ong's Habitat & Rock Stone Golen respectively. I do have patience to do things, but refuse to bot and SP Farming at Bandits Den relentlessly smacks of unseemly behavior (pardon to legit SP Farmers, no offense). I am not a necrophiliac and wouldn't enjoy doing the 'Death Dance' endlessly in any case. I found a very nice calculator here: http://www.nivlam.com/sp/ that is a great help for my attempts at understanding the game mechanics. Oh, by the way, I am a retired IT Computer Systems Analyst, but for all that I do very much appreciate your answer. I feel lost about 98% of the time and when an idea occurs to me (after research) it needs to be verified before I gimp my character to the max. Yes, I am a newb to Silkroad Online but I've played a Hardcore bow character (Rogue) in Diablo® (since it came out) and Hunter in World of Warcraft® (since beta - she's lev 70 waiting for the level cap to be raised). My motto? Experience will always have a ready reply to theory. It's like my real grandpa used to say, "Never be afraid to make mistakes and understand this one thing, I may be wrong, but I am NEVER uncertain."Thanks again for your courteous reply

Just to clarify, and if my assumption is true, to earn 100,000 SP one would have to repeat the level with a 9 Gap SIXTY-ONE (61) times . Could this be true? Heheheh... I'm starting to understand why you say, "Just play your character with a 3~4 Gap and don't worry about SP Farming for your first character." Thanks again for your courteous reply

lol 61 times. yeah that is probably right.
Yeah I have never heard someone say that farming was fun. Though I have done it, 3 times actually on the same character, lvl 16 (40k), 32 (30k), and 52 (60k). Sadly I still don't have enough sp to get me to cap with my ideal build.

I stand corrected I took another look... Farming from beginning level 16 through the end of level 17 earns 3,581 SP, one would have to delevel down two levels but that would mean the "Rinse and Repeat" cycle would be cut from SIXTY-ONE (61) to Twenty-seven (27) times. Thanks yet again for your very helpful responses. Very much appreciated.
