I can see it now:
C == China
U == USA
T == Taiwan

C invades T
U declares war on C
C dumps treasury bonds causing Hyperinflation for U
U is to weak to follow through with invasion&occupation of C
C takes advantage of opportunity and declares war on Japan&Korea

Don't believe everything you hear from the taiwanese/chinese news agencies. There has been no proof of anything yet, only accusations.

Although it would be nice and dandy to consider taiwan a country, the fact of the matter is that it isn't a country. It is a nation but far from a country. If the question was, "should Taiwan be a country?" then I would answer "yes", but that isn't the case. Denying reality will solve nothing, considering Taiwan a sovereign country and them actually being sovereign is completely different. What we should be doing is acting, not denying the truth.

What do you define as being a country? What do you define as being a nation?

Either way, I believe Taiwan will eventually be assimilated into China by their own accord. Most of the media over there has a socialist slant and favors assimilation by China. It's kind of frustrating listening to my family members over in Taiwan saying how great China is and how great communism is, since it is all they hear.

In the end, it's all about money and power. China has a lot of it and Taiwan does not.
